  1. Correct second time. I was at Rugby Park the day he stuck the nut on Derek Cook. Killie sacked him immediately and he must have signed for Falkirk very soon after.
  2. A legend signed for Falkirk this day 26 years ago . Who ?
  3. I did say " if " mate and have no idea if it will be and hope not.
  4. If this is indeed the Derek Lyle's last season with us ,then he is going out it a blaze of glory . When you compare his contribution to Qos to maybe some recently departed players for instance , then it is like one stratosphere to the next . Power to the Tan man and give us some more please !
  5. No I suspect the board see the four players returning as stopping any more activity . As said before, these guys have been getting paid ( rightfully of course) while sitting out and our wage bill will be heavy enough without adding to it. There is scope anyway in pushing Russell up - to make the extra striker - and juggling about the midfield returnee's. I see Russell as a better option up front for us than Baird was anyway if the manager wants to use him there( as long as he stays onside ) .I am not one of those that is going to say Baird was crap for Queens because he wasn't ,but ,his impact was moderate at best . -------------Can't really compare Falkirk to us in bringing extra players in as they are bigger with more resources . Having said that, I have had a little peek at the league table and still see us above them.
  6. ' Bogey team ' Livi haven't beat us in five 90 minute attempts. Damn, lies and statistics eh ?
  7. With the defeats of Livingston recently and Cowden today, hopefully Queens are shaking off the 'can't beat the struggling / wee teams ' tab. Having been to the Cowden game at Palmerston, I am still in disbelief that they left with the three points . Good to get that bogey out of the road now .
  8. Very much doubt the directors are wet behind the ears when it comes to add ons etc. Not with promising young players and a long career ahead of them.
  9. McShane is good when everything is going well but like Casper the ghost when things get tough. I would rather have a young Burns or McKenna any day but that's the problem. They ain't that young anymore and are both probably on the slide .
  10. Test of nerve now and how desperate County are to land him by offering more money before Mondays deadline
  11. The Press and Journal reporting today that Ross Co. are desperate to sign McShane before Mondays deadline but have to come back with an acceptable cash offer.
  12. A small team, barely much bigger than us , is not going to offer anything like even 50k. They would try to get him for a pittance but that's the way it goes these days.
  13. I don't know how reliable this recent supposed bid on twitter was but I do know that McIntyre has been back to Queens twice before for McShane with offers that were not deemed good enough. £100,000 is a figure out of cloud cuckoo land .
  14. My thoughts as well. McIntyre will be back to visit too.
  15. Sports journalist on twitter saying that Ross Co. have made a new , improved offer for Ian McShane .
  16. I tried to ' out- ghastly' your offerings on this site with naughty words but even at that it was too difficult a task.
  17. I despair ! There are apparently boardroom problems you say . Do you think for any one minute that any of these three professional men are going to leak out any info regarding that . Quickest way to start a rumour is on here by the looks of it with folk getting reeled in straight away. I have faith that these guys always act in what they feel are the best interests of QoS. The problems of players leaving us are not new and unfortunately Kerr is a miss but that's life . Also , Queens have been paying out full time wages to four long term injured players who are only now beginning to filter back into the team .This has cost a lot of money and not an ideal situation for a club such as ours . Still believe we have enough quality to regroup and grab that fourth spot.
  18. The lack of decent set piece delivery is a major concern as well. McShane was not clearing the first defender but we kept letting him take them . If something isn't working then you have to try something different. Shame because we have players like Dowie who will attack the ball in the air. Oh for a Mitchell cross !
  19. I agree that we desperately need a striker but rather than blow precious money on someone , I would put Russell up front with Reilly and have the tan man ready to do his half hour cameo. Paton can go wide to let Russell go forward . Plenty of midfield cover coming back now.
  20. You are a bit of a twat are you not ? Smart ass c@nt .
  21. Correct . Dzierwawski and Slattery did not get enough opportunities where as McShane did. Disagree with those that say Kevin wasn't good enough . The real answer is that I/we don't really know but I thought he was promising.
  22. Yes, mate . A very good passer I thought but didn't get a run of games required to get up to speed in the same way others at QoS have and did. Hope he does well at the Bloo Toon if that's where he goes . Your comments on Millar were interesting . I know from you that he didn't make much impact at all in League 1. He obviously has to up his game to get back to where he was at Falkirk.
  23. I am quite dissapointed that Kevin Dzierwawski has not had a decent chance here . I seen enough to suggest that he was good enough but for whatever reason, Queens were not prepared to give him a crack at it . Hope the boy does well wherever his next port of call is .
  24. Would be great if the development team could unearth a couple of ' home' bred players for the big team.
