Don't agree with the weaker fields tbh, Nicklaus had to beat the likes of Player, Palmer, Watson, Trevino and Floyd, all multiple major winners themselves. All great players of course. I feel the depth of the fields have been stronger in the last 20 years, mostly due to the equipment and fitness levels which were undoubtedly influenced by Tiger.

Nicklaus' record was incredible, but I think the fields were weaker and Tiger's wins were more impressive.
