  1. Yes sorry what I meant by that was teams like Mauchline were a certainty to go up and maybe had signings lined up for the first division. Or urself for the prem, are players still happy to sign if it means maybe a season in the lower league.

I would like to think they would still be able to attract the level of player they require for they’re individual purposes, these sides don’t lose they’re creditably in the close season surely unless they’re is a mass loss of players or structure. I know some sides are back training in groups of 5 with the second group coming at the end of the first groups session. Better than nothing I suppose.
  2.

With the green light been given for training to restart in some shape of form who is signing who ? I saw some of Kilbride Thistles signings on twitter, looks like they could make a return to the top end of the table. Any other confirmed signings for clubs or realistic rumours

  3. Listen to all the fans of other clubs already shitting themselves. Wanyjbg point deductions. Embarrassing.

Arsenal/spurs / villa/ west ham/ Chelsea players were all caught training during the worst stage of the pandemic.

No clamour for points deductions and probably not as many inches of gutter press about it either. Darvel were wrong. 100% but it's really not worth all these pages of bitching.

  4. Did they break the government guidelines? Yes.

Seriously tho who gives a f**k, if this was 2 weeks ago I would also be outraged but See the minute they tell that group of Darvel ( or any other teams ) players that they cant train as a group but Instead meet up and go to a beer garden or a pub together and get wrecked with possibly other teams in the same premises then it's all just getting hypocritical to me.

That picture could be bottles of beer instead of water in a sunny beer garden and it's a non story. The minute its water in a public area exercising its against " rules" MADNESS

The guys are trying to get fit and cant while other guys can go get wrecked with 50 other people.

Technically they are in the wrong so its hard to defend as such but it's a complete shambles of a GUIDLINE

  5. Oaft a little passive aggressive here Graham.

    Keep up the good work

Yes, we could do it by Zoom.

We could also wait and see what the government are going to announce tomorrow and discuss at an Exec Committee meeting, before making a suggestion to the clubs for dates and venues for the AGM.

We want it to be safe and within government guidelines, but we have also looked into other options.
  6. Has your sponsor not hit a beer garden. Get all the lads around and do sprints to the bar and back. That's will be allowed

Obviously tongue in cheek but shows how mental this all is. Booze as a team all u like. Just dont dare jog as a team

Personally don't care what the structure is guys for this season, our guys just want to get back training at least. I'm affraid if we carry on any length of time with no training/football then boys will just drift away. Does anyone have any info thats worth passing on,
  7. Fair enough Graham. Surely in this day and age AGMs can be had thru conference calls tho

We have let the clubs know what’s happening for the season ahead, but they were all perfectly entitled to put forward other proposals to be voted for at the AGM.

It’s the clubs that decide what the league structure will be and we can only do that at an AGM, and will only have that meeting when it’s safe to do so.
  8. I heard that almost all of the proposals have been binned by the executive as they dont meet the Scottish amatuer standards/ rules.

If this is true then for me is just embarrassing for the clubs that's put them in and another example that they are just putting propels forward to suit themselves and not all the clubs. Doesn't even sound like they are legal never mind beneficial.

Either way the ayrshire fa really need to stop dragging their heels. Almost every other association at this level have let the clubs know what's happening for the season ahead.

If you have the means to train with social distancing then what's the issue?

How is adult social distance training with non contact any worse off than youth football with full contact? Surely I've more risk of catching it from my kid if he's been to training than when I've went to a social distancing gathering?

From july 15th Pt's now allowed to arrange outdoor group sessions as long as proper measures in place but you cant do the same with a football? Hows that any different?

Can go for a haircut but can't kick a ball 20 yards away to a teammate... where's the logic in that?

There is talk of punishment for teams caught training, what are the punishments? Personally I've seen amateur and junior teams training already so what's the issue if you're taking the correct measures to ensure everyones safety?

Drive past any astro when the weather is decent and you'll be hard pushed to find an empty space on it with the amount of people playing in these "restricted" times.

Another point, what was the outcome of the Ayrshire leagues debate after clubs suggested changes, when will clubs be notified? Assuming they haven't already or we would have seen the discussions on here [emoji23]

  9. And our pubs the mora

Surely players can keep their own training, running, going until clubs are allowed to train together. Hopefully someone from the Scottish Amateur/SFA only has to catch them in the act - can't moan over any punishment delivered. Players aren't likely to die from covid19 ? That's probably what the person who goes shopping and then catches the virus must have thought. Always idiots around, just look in the English pubs yesterday...bunch of twats
  10. Alot if Amateur teams do not have the luxury of a "home ground". They simply have a town/ scheme that they are based and need to apply on a weekly basis for a pitch to play on as close to their base as possible. Then u get the teams that do have a home ground but choose to play certain team on astroturf etc.

In regards to how teams know where their opposition play, that is usually discussed between the two club contacts in the lead up to the game that week.

It would be perfect if every club in scotland had a specific home park but it's just not possible with the condition of most council pitches and also some areas have far too many teams to all have a dedicated home pitch.

Take Shortlees AFC for example. One of Scotlands best teams and a great community club. Their registered home park is a place called Burnpark and as far as I'm aware appears on the ayrshire and Scottish afa website, I could count on one had the amount of times they have played at their "home park" in the last 2 seasons.

Another issue is that especially (but not exclusively) in the West, some teams field B and even C teams in certain leagues, and it's not always clear, as the league websites don't differentiate (Oban Saints play their 2nd string in the Greater Glasgow Premier League, for example), but they are just listed as "Oban Saints" on the GGPL website.
There should be a map and directions to the ground of every club (surely all amateur clubs need this info at some point, especially with new clubs, as how else do they know where they are going on matchday?)  So, where is this information currently distributed to clubs?  For instance, there is a new club in the Strathclyde Saturday Morning League - "Dormy Forrest" - with no other info about the club.  I've since found on Twitter that the name seems to be based on one guy's recollection of it being the name of a club his grandad played for in 1977.  I'm not sure if "Forrest" is a mis-spelling of Forest.  But apart from this, how do other clubs in the league know where they play?
The Scottish Amateur FA requires that clubs register with them every season - surely this registration needs some assurance that the club have a ground to play on for the forthcoming season, and therefore, info about that ground (name, location) must be sent to the SAFA.  So why does the club directory on their website not have home grounds for many of the clubs?  It should be a relatively straightforward job to input the venue for each club.  I mean, somebody has gone to the bother of inputting contact details (name, phone, email) for their secretaries.  All it needs is a spreadsheet or suchlike to be updated once a year.

  11. To be fair I think the professionals are spending £2000 a week on testing . I'm sure I seen killie say £100 a player per week

Exactly! I don’t see the difference between professional adults full contact training and Amateur adults full contact training?? I see amateur teams returning to training soon.
  12. Aye I agree. Everything moving much quicker than we thought. How can u tell adults they can sit and booze in a beer garden and then inside a pub but they cant exercise as a team with social distancing

Fully expect training second week July but social distancing and no
    Changing facilities etc.
  13. I have to say Graham the last paragraph I completely agree with. Clubs are offered the opportunity to suggest a reconstruction plan every season. Almost always clubs never suggest anything other that tweaking the bottom division.

Now all a sudden the top division and even the first should be increased. I'll wager a bet that all these reconstruction ideas will be from Clubs that are acting out of self interest.

An Ardeer or Beith are unlikely to make proposals. It will be clubs like Waverly, Irvine, mauchline, killie United etc. That's not a dig by any means. It's understandable that they feel hard done by but I dont see how increasing the top two divisions is suddenly in the best interest of Ayrshire football.

I'd personally keep the top two the same. Make one big 2nd division of 18 teams. Play everyone once then a top and bottom split. Play everyone once again. 25 games. Done

If only it was that easy.

The rules are decided by the clubs at the AGM, same as every year.

The SSMAFL have increased their league to 16 for one season based on the current situation, but they might end up only playing each other once, or scrapping a cup or two.

So we could put the leagues up to 18 (for example) for one season, and then have 8 clubs relegated at the end of the season to get back to 12, when you include 2 being promoted??
We could increase the number of teams in a league and scrap a cup (as the Caledonian league have done), again that’s up to the clubs to decide.
Or we could have one big league of 43 and play each other once, with no cups.

You’re perfectly entitled to your opinion about the decision of the committee, but as you would expect I disagree completely. You say it’s right not to award titles but clubs should be promoted, where’s the logic in that?

Do you think that it’s right to look at reconstruction during the current period of massive uncertainty, would it not be better to wait until the numbers are known and everyone knows what they’re playing for?
  14. Graham you have mentioned about the leagues needing to be completed by the safa AGM. Is that the same "this season"

What I mean is that did the SAFA give permission for associations to try and complete their leagues whenever its deemed safe or were they to be stopped and the associations decide how best to award places etc.

In theory, if the government allowed grassroots to get back to playing in Jan/ Feb, would the SAFA allow clubs to finish the 19/20 season then.

I appreciate it's almost impossible to say if it would work with squads etc. I'm just asking if it's actually been specified if its allowed.

A couple of points on this I can respond to.

The SAFA didn’t tell teams they couldn’t train, the Scottish Government did. And they continue to do so.

The SSMAFL only have 16 in their Premier League for this year coming, they don’t know what their season will look like yet. I think they finished season 2018/19 with 13 teams in their Premier League.

All matches must be played before the SAFA AGM which is in June, as per the Constitution & Rules. You need to request an extension to play after this, but ideally games should be completed before it.

The reason teams don’t play for 2-3 weeks while waiting to play their last 2-3 fixtures is because they’re waiting their turn to play the team having a successful season, so this would get worse if that team plays well into June. The price to pay for having a good cup run also affects the other teams you still have to play.

Ayrshire can’t produce a league fixture more than a week in advance for a number of reasons; clubs can apply for free weeks during the season with 2 weeks notice (this also means if they didn’t fancy one of the fixtures they were given they could get a free week and avoid it), Scottish and West cup fixtures take precedence and can change due to postponements or replays, several clubs play at the same venue so changing one fixture could mean having to change several fixtures, changing one fixture will mean changing several depending on who you’ve already played, cup draws are done during the season rather than all at once so we don’t know what the cup ties are until the draw is made.

This would all mean the Match Secretary would be re-doing work and re-issuing fixtures every week. It’s already a big job and this would make it 4 or 5 times harder / worse. The benefit of getting a fixture 3 or 4 weeks in advance is only a benefit if that fixture doesn’t change 3 times, which it could.
Issuing weeks of fixtures is only really possible at the start of the season before the cups start, which we have done for the past few years.
  15. I'm playing devils advocate here. Say the 14 team prem was worth a try and this season was null and void.

The same 3 teams would actually be promoted anyway from the last completed season.

Nearly all the same teams from the season before would be promoted from the 2nd to the 1st. Other than Mauchline.

Is there more sporting integrity in that or less.

Again I'm not saying that's the way to go. Just putting it out there.

Cheggars do u think no relegation this season would be fair?

If u were restructuring to 14 in the top 2 leagues would you still relegate meaning 4 teams coming up or no relegation meaning 3 to the prem and 5 coming up to the first with no relegation or 7 with relegation

I try my best mate [emoji1787][emoji1787]

The premier division of the caley league also has 14 teams in it and it has some of the best ams teams about . Can definitely work with that number no problem.

Ayrshire clubs have been asked to put forward proposals by Thursday a think it is so will be interesting to see if anything comes across and also if the league committee actually let the member clubs vote on it.

In my opinion I think it's only fair the member clubs get a say in their own future, end of the day they're the ones paying the membership fees
