  1. You mean the Ruud Gullit who was racially abused and spat on by St. Mirren supporters while playing for Feyenoord against St. Mirren and called it "the saddest night of my life'. That Ruud Gullit?
  2. If they employ Heartburn as a DoF then they had better not start pleading poverty and holding the begging bowls out. We don't need a DoF in League 1.
  3. We've been saying this for hundreds of pages bud. P.S. After the Titanic struck the iceberg they tried to steady the ship but unfortunately it went into a downward spiral. The good news was that when it settled on the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean it was pretty stable.
  4. Unless it's the FSS representatives who want to keep him, maybe?
  5. I don’t know any of the board members from Adam but I would assume that they are all successful business people in their own particular fields. While we all consider ourselves to be fans, maybe they view us as merely customers? That being the case, they must know, surely, the cost and benefits of selling to an existing customer compared to the cost of trying to win a new or lapsed customer? Acquiring a new customer can cost five times more than retaining an existing customer. Increasing customer retention by 5% can increase profits from 25-95%. The success rate of selling to a customer you already have is 60-70%, while the success rate of selling to a new customer is 5-20%. They really must take note of their customers’ point of view when it comes to retaining Rennie or they could lose hundreds of existing customers and it would cost the club an absolute fortune to woo them back to TFS. Rennie and the Sevco Gobbler have to go.
  6. Talking about the good old days, can anybody remember a song that used to be quite popular in the Falkirk area? I might be wrong but I think that it was called Amarillo? I haven't heard it in ages.
  7. Yup, but you're their friend, I'm not. I'm sure they would tell you things that they wouldn't tell me.
  8. Have your pals on the board made their minds up too?
  9. So, the story of the season so far. We recruit a manager who has little or no experience of managing a first team in the Scottish Football League system, despite much concern being voiced on forums such as P&B. The previous season’s squad had badly underperformed so we have to sign about 7 – 8 players to bolster the squad. It soon becomes clear that even with the expense of this badly need recruitment that the results and performances are way below what we should be experiencing: the manager is so far out of his depth and needs to go. We bring in a new manager who has to try and move on some of the underperforming players and again sign another 7 -8 new players in the hope of scraping into the play-offs in the 3rd tier of Scottish Football. My prediction for next season: We retain a manager who has little or no experience of managing a first team in the Scottish Football League system, despite much concern being voiced on forums such as P&B. The previous season’s squad had badly underperformed so we have to sign about 7 – 8 players to bolster the squad. It soon becomes clear that even with the expense of this badly need recruitment that the results and performances are way below what we should be experiencing: the manager is so far out of his depth and needs to go. Deja effing vu! The only differences between the Sheerin scenario and the Rennie scenario is that with Sheerin we didn’t really know how he was going to perform. With Rennie (I reiterate, I was pleased with the appointment at the time), he has had his chance already and failed miserably so we know how next season will go if he is still in charge. It will just be another case of us having to shell out more cash that we don’t have. The board have a great chance to stop our usual manager and player recruitment roundabout and us continuing to haemorrhage money by getting rid of Rennie at the end of the season and bringing in somebody experienced in the Scottish game to start the new season afresh.

  11. I'm pretty sure that he said that he had left his previous job on good terms and that if it didn't work out for him at Falkirk he could always go back there.
  12. No chance, the Bigot Brothers will always hold that title.
  13. Nope. Being disorganised is a MAJOR part of the problem. Being organised is a MAJOR part of the solution. #PedantsAnonymous
  14. I just think that it is an unnecessary layer of management that causes confusion and also one that we can well do without, especially considering our current impecunious state.
  15. Pumped 3 - 0 on Saturday and Miller thinks that it is OK to do this? And seemingly done in Falkirk FC's time going by the tactics board in the background. He can GTF ASAP.
  16. Does anybody ever watch MasterChef? Occasionally at some point in the competition all the contestants go into the pantry and collect a basket of ingredients of their choosing for them to cook their perfect meal. Then, at the last minute, all of these carefully selected ingredients are taken away from them and they are given another contestant’s basket of ingredients and they have to go away and cook a totally different meal with the ingredients that have been foisted on them. Cue a Director of Football and a Head Coach. Stuff that for a game of sojyirs, the Manager (not Head Coach) should be 100% responsible for recruiting his own players / squad.
  17. Those 2 posts kind of contradict each other, no? He'd make a good Director of Football but he can't recognize a good player? P.S. I applauded loudly when Rennie was given the gig of Head Coach, I'll applaud even louder when his contract finishes and he has nothing more to do with the club.
  18. Duh! Of course! Mind you, I don't think I saw his email address listed on the website. Cheers though.
  19. As an ex-pat who is unable to attend any of the “meet the board” type of events in BTG etc., I got to thinking who I could contact at the club if I wanted to air any of my grievances. I went onto the website and the most sensible email address that I could think of using was Anna O’Donnell’s, the Supporters Liaison Officer. No offence to Anna but not great. The last board at least issued the email address of board@falkirkfc.co.uk for us to use ( I know that @Harry Kinnear has used it )but I don’t think that one is active anymore. So, in a roundabout way what I am trying to say is that I think the new board are playing a blinder (for themselves, not for us) but not electing a Chairperson. Under the old regime Gary Deans as the Chairperson came in for 90% of the flak on here, with the new regime there is no individual person that we can target and use as a conduit for our grievances. Not good considering all the claims about transparency etc.
  20. Thanks for this Shagger. It sounds like they are using these events to tell us what is happening and what they are doing, rather than taking advantage of an opportunity to listen to what the fans have to say. So, no different from Gary Deans and the old board, eh?
