  1. Ha ha ha ha ha ha amazing patter mate, wish I was as witty and original as you.
  2. Yep, when the Torbett stuff broke, in the late 90's I seem to recall there were a few barbed comments and chants from Rangers fans, something that didn't surprise me but, I'd say the last 20 years it's escalated to a hideous extent and common from fans of other clubs, including several who have had similar revelations about equally vile b*****ds connected to their club in the same era. I just find it sickening anyone who thinks it fair game to sing about stuff like this and blindly labels people beasts based purely on football allegiance or religious background, it's abhorrent and fucking appalling and I refuse to even enter into debate or conversation with fucking cretins who go down that route.
  3. I may be in the minority here but songs with crude slurs about the Royal Family or the pope don't bother me in the slightest, nor do songs about the troubles in the North of Ireland or the centuries of conflict between Ireland and Britain in general, I concede not everyone feels the same however and absolutely understand why people would not be happy hearing that kind of stuff belted out by thousands of people at football grounds or parades round streets, towns and cities. What I do find more offensive and vile though is songs and chants mocking the sexual abuse of children for nothing more than point scoring purposes, not a shred of empathy with victims past or present of horrific abuse but merely to tar anyone associated with a demographic of people they detest as complicit in such abuse and even label them as abusers, while your club does occasionally play lip service to the FTP type stuff and little more than that, it is at least acknowledged, now and again that stuff is a long running issue and problem within the Rangers support, however the child abuse shit they regularly spout the club never even make a mention of, maybe one day someone at the club will have the balls to call out that disgusting shit, doubtful however since the mainstream media in Scotland don't even mention it either.
  4. He makes a valid point though, which songs are sectarian?
  5. Going to stick my neck out here and suggest it was for the cash.
  6. It was a VAR decision that cost Rangers in a big game, hence the collective heads gone as denying the sons of William refereeing breaks, particularly against Celtic just isn't on.
  7. Particularly going up North, often get pulled over and checked at Broxden roundabout at Perth, been known to get similar treatment coming into Aberdeen and Inverness. One such police officer asked en route to Pittodrie if I normally got through a 2 litre bottle of Coke on the way to a game (it was mixed with Havana Club) and I looked rather embarrassed and tried to come up with a quick response, surprisingly said PC informed he wasn't daft, they have to do a certain number of checks to keep their bosses and the politicians happy, said he was aware most of us will be having a wee refreshment on the bus but, so long as we were relatively discreet with it, meaning no cans and bottles rolling about the bus and the majority of it in plastic bottles and, most importantly we weren't jumping about like arseholes being obnoxious and verbally abusive to them, they were happy to let us head off with a minimum of fuss. I think some, but not all coppers in this situation aren't daft and will he okay with you if you dont rip the piss.
  8. When travelling to games up north, whether it be Aberdeen, RC, Inverness and the Dundee sides, they love a wee snatch squad at Broxden roundabout near Perth to check buses for drink, one time going to Dingwall they stopped us, no drink found on the coach.... (it was all in plastic bottles ) so then the in charge streak off piss demanded the driver opened the boot/holding area underneath the bus and took great delight in pouring a few cans of beer and cider down the drain and made a point of doing it directly in front of us, absolute fucking wankers, incredible and depressing in equal measure police resources at weekends are devoted to absolute fucking nonsense like this.
  9. Just popped in briefly to see if Bennett is still making a tit of himself.
  10. Wee bit of interesting trivia, Kevin O'Hara, like myself, comes from the village of Fallin which is about a mile from Forthbank stadium. Effort and resilience of the Albion to hang on in there and snatch a point from a game, based on possession and chances, they had no right to was absolutely brilliant. Yes, you can say they rode their luck but sometimes, you earn a bit of luck through hard work and determination as well as mental toughness, this was a prime example.
  11. Slightly off topic but I recently watched the mini series about the Olaf Palme assassination on SKY, a fervent socialist and vehement opponent critic of the apartheid regime in South Africa at the time,I strongly suspect it was the latter that was behind his killing. Much like the JFK assassination I suspect, in our lifetime at least we will never find out the truth.
  12. Scotland line up to face Brazil on a soaking wet night in Turin at Italia 90, a night Jim Leighton would rather forget and one Murdo McCleod probably can't remember. A few weeks after being dropped for the FA cup final replay this was the beginning of a dark period for Leighton, he's never spoken to Ferguson since who, I'm sure most observers, me included he made the right call, even if it was going to destroy the confidence of a guy who had been such a big part of his Aberdeen trophy success.
  13. Aberdeen celebration after winning the league in 1985, the last club outwith Glasgow to do so
  14. Kenny Burns, or Kenneth as his Nottingham Forest manager, the late great Brian Clough referred to him, up for a corner against Peru in 1978 on a night Ally McLeod, Alan Rough and virtually all of Scotland would rather forget on what in hindsight wasn't even the low point of that World Cup for Scotland. Remember watching an interview with Alan Rough about that World Cup and it's staggering how unprofessional Scotland were going into that tournament, particularly from the manager it has to be said who did absolutely zero homework or analysis on our opponents, Rough asked if they had anyone decent on set pieces and McLeod shrugged his shoulders in a 'haven't a clue' type response, Laughable and embarrassing in equal measure.
  15. Steve Itchybaws and Jimmy 1690 Nicholl in October 1981 as Scotland earned a goalless draw at Windsor Park to qualify for the following years World Cup in Spain, our opponents that night would join us by beating Israel in their final match, the Israelis were actually the bottom seed in that group, the supposed whipping boy and the two teams who missed out on qualification behind us were Portugal and Sweden which, looking back is pretty mental considering the modern pecking order in European football.
  16. Paul Hegarty heads clear against Aberdeen at Tannadice in 1981, I think the Dons player is Peter Weir but not 100% sure.
  17. No idea why Jock Wallace is holding a measuring tape as Andy Ritchie signs for Motherwell
  18. Two future Celtic managers up against each other as the two Irish national sides face off in 1980.
  19. Always thought Barry Robson came across as a generally quite sound guy so, bizarre and disappointing in equal measure to find him acting like a complete w**k in that post match interview.
