Sure his last job down there ended when he made a racist "joke" to a player?

Yeah, he got binned by Notts County for it.

I think he was fairly well regarded as a coach in the early part of his career but came across as an incredibly intense, arrogant, oddball when he was in charge of our Under 18’s & 20’s a few years ago and has failed miserably everywhere since.

Some folk online are suggesting it costs us 150k a year in Govt loan repayments.

Dont know the exact figure but it will be nowhere near that.

What I do know is that maintenance costs on the pitch are now roughly a fifth of what they used to be so the savings on that alone will more than cover any loan repayment costs.

Think a lot of people are jumping on a bandwagon that's not really going anywhere.

I think that figure is correct. £3m unsecured, interest free loan paid back over 20 years (2022-2042) equals £150k per annum. Assuming it's paid back in equal instalments, of course.

As others have said, it would have been absolutely impossible for us to borrow money on any more favourable terms than that and it'd have been pretty irresponsible of the board if we hadn't taken advantage.

Edit: Here's a quote from McMahon from Feb 2022: “We also borrowed £2,959,000 from the Scottish Government to further strengthen our position should the pandemic, and the associated restriction to our normal trading conditions, continue for an extended period. The borrowings are to be repaid between September 2022 and August 2042 and are unsecured and interest-free.”

  3. Least interesting is probably Morton. I can't ever remember checking the scores on a Saturday and see they've won a game but somehow they just hang about the Championship never getting into the playoffs or getting relegated.

Most interesting - probably Hearts. They've have had their mad Vlad era, financial issues, various relegations, loads of cup finals (both wins and losses), and then loads of funny stuff like being relegated in the Covid season and trying to get it overturned through the courts, forgetting to order seats for the stadium etc.

Honourable mention to Dundee for being fairly interesting, but that's mainly because they seem to lurch from one disaster to the next, which makes this season very weird because they seem wholly competent.

My own club could probably be accused of being a bit boring having not won anything for over 30 years and playing in the same division for almost 40. However, I think we have a few redeeming qualities; our mismatched/unfinished stadium, we've been saved from relegation twice (once due to league reconstruction and once due to Falkirk's stadium), we were the first top flight fan owned club in the UK, we've qualified for various European competitions (including the Champions League) and then been beaten by various diddies in the qualifiers (Llanelli, Sligo, Stjarnan, Flumartari), we had the last non-OF winner of the PFA Player of the Year award who then got arrested on the night of the ceremony, and we've been involved in some of the most memorable matches in Scottish Football in the last 20 years (imo) - 6-6 vs Hibs, 2-1 vs Celtic to gift Rangers the title in 2005, and the 6-1 Playoff win and ensuing brawl vs Rangers.

  4. According to Transfermarkt, Davor is just under 5''9 making him the same height as Callum Slattery and Harry Paton. He is maybe a bit more slight looking than either of those two but it's not like Slattery or Paton are particularly robust midfielders, and SK is happy to play both of them. Leads me to think it must be more than a physicality thing as to why we've not seen him, meaning he's either shite or something else is going on behind the scenes.

  5. Does anyone know if some of the larger non-host cities are likely to have fan zones? Doubt these would be UEFA official ones but whether the city council or whatever might put something on?

I'm staying in Nuremberg for the group stages and struggling to find any info. Would be good if a fan zone is an option to watch non-Scotland games so we can have a wee change of scenery from the pubs and bierhalles!

  6. The makeshift defence for this one should be interesting, but they probably won't be that much worse than what the regulars have served up over recent weeks. SOD at RCB could be a laugh though.

We'll probably score, we've generally been ok at that, but probably need to do it a minimum of twice to get a point and three for a win.

1-3 resulting in Mr Kettlewell being at home with the family this Christmas.

    Done!!!!

To save any panicking, I assume when others click in to their "My Tickets" its blank, but you can see it in Order History?

My three tickets are showing in the 'My Tickets' section.

I've not had any email confirmation through yet though.

Valikari will no doubt be linked again, you would assume Callum Davidson would fancy us too. Jack Ross may have decided he's unemployed long enough to consider it, Lambert who knows.

There'll no doubt be a clutch of former English lower league managers interested too.

Jack Ross has picked up a fairly cushy gig as Head of Development at Newcastle, doubt he'd walk away from that.

Get Warnock in, seems like a decent bloke.

  9. What an absolute shambles. Not like they've had since October to plan this.

I might just chance my arm at 12 anyway. Knowing the SFA there's a fair chance you'll still be able to get in and buy them
