  1. I would say it’s a case of a fool and his money.
  2. Mental spending 12k and him not getting a game, not to mention the wages involved.
  3. Daft to try and say what the Darvel players are on per week when there are ex committee members who can definitely tell if they wished what they were on pre covid and I would suggest they are on more now.
  4. Hopefully all the young team managed to get tickets without a doubt it was them that generated the atmosphere with their drums etc.
  5. It was posted somewhere on here the prize money breakdown and I think if Darvel had gone out the other night there money would have been around the £45k mark not counting tickets etc v Aberdeen. I believe the ground improvements to host the game were in the region of 40-50k so even although they will pocket a few quid unless they beat Falkirk I wouldn’t think the prize money will be enough for 2 seasons with the outgoings that the club has.
  6. Tbf Mick might no be happy receiving anything fae the king
  7. Of course there is money involved so I’m taking no one for a fool but what I am saying is that team talk he did last night infront of the camera is not dissimilar to any other he will do every Saturday, and he has a great way with words which inspires his teams on.
  8. Having been at the first meeting Mick had at the club you can tell that players want to play for him, he speaks about togetherness etc etc all the time , I spoke to mates who were former players and they said he’s the kind of manager you would run through brick walls for.
  9. The biggest show of the community since Mick came on board, I’m no a fan of the pieman but the investment in the ground deserves massive plaudits , the home crowds will grow on the back of this result of that there is no doubt and that is the progress the club needs now to try and reach sustainability. Huge well done to Mick and the players.
  10. Darvel is not a Plc, there is no owner or shareholders.
  11. By “ invited” I take it you mean season ticket holders and honorary members?
  12. The atmosphere in the town has been growing for weeks, Mick and a couple of the players went up to the primary the other day and the kids loved it, there was a steady stream of locals going doon the brae today to the open day and come Monday the locals will be out in force.
  13. No he’s still with the club, him,Mick, Scott Ferguson and Jordan Allan are going to the primary school tomorrow to meet all the kids.
  14. Be lucky if ST and lottery members will be much more than 200, that’s why they can guarantee them a ticket.
  15. On the website I think it’s 2200 but I’ve heard their trying to get to 4000, Aberdeen are getting 2000 which I think they’ll struggle to sell due to travel, the game being on the tv etc
  16. Missed out the word social, they have now announced the prices but no date when the tickets go on sale but Aberdeen fans can buy their tickets from Wednesday
  17. I’ve heard a temporary stand going in, I see Aberdeen have announced their tickets go on sale Wednesday at 5pm….. nothing from the Darvel media outlets though
  18. That’s been the case at Dalry for years now, it’s great for the kids. Unfortunately the words “free” and “ thanks” are not readily used by the pieman.
  19. No idea, not much info coming from the club.
  20. No tickets on sale as yet, I think they are trying to get the capacity up by doing more ground improvements, I’ve heard up to 4000 which to me seems a bit of overkill.
  21. Bit of a strange one to say the least, good servant to Darvel but he left to get regular football as far as I could see it, not much changed since he left so can’t see him getting a starting slot this time around either.
  22. I was thinking the same thing, Darvel announced to that they were meeting the local council and police on Monday and there would be an announcement later in the week, I might be wrong but I’m thinking there could be an issue on that front that may be holding things up
  23. I would think that would only be the case if the ground didn’t meet certain criteria to hold the match, I’m hearing that there are measures being taken to ensure the game is at Darvel.
  24. Even if Aberdeen got 1500 tickets there would still be thousands that go week in week out that wouldn’t get a ticket , fair play to the club for wanting to play it in Darvel.
