  1. Well I would think that if there is an EGM that the people that attend will surely have the best interest of the club, there’s no way to make any personal gain financially or any other way at this level of football, if steps have been made to make the club fan run how does that look, Mr HIll I believe has taken this on and in turn he needs to pass how this looks on to the fans, clarity is what is required.
  2. I don’t believe that GIRUU is Frank Hill but the club needs to come out and say who is going to be running it in 4 weeks time. Gall is going , Hill says he’s not taking it on, I’d imagine the rest of the executive committee who are all pretty much John’s pals will leave as well and I’ve heard that a couple of the non exec guys are leaving as well, there needs to be an EGM called so that everyone with the club at heart can have there say and not just an AGM which is a closed shop to season ticket holders.
  3. The pitch is goosed, stopped using the ground care company I presume due to cost, I believe they were spiking the park in a regular basis which kept the drainage ok, the part where it is causing problems is the same but it always did, the difference is before the pitch was re-done then the water would have a wee slope to run down into the corner, now because the pitch is relatively flat it just lies there.
  4. Heard that, Darren Miller possibly coming back
  5. That’s what I’ve been told from someone who is there just now mate.
  6. Doesn’t matter where on the fence the Darvel support sit but this looks like a terrible decision, I’ve heard from someone at the ground just now saying Winters may stay and that the players are on board, as long as the players are getting paid I don’t suppose it will matter to them who coaches.
  7. Only the 1 stand open but looked reasonably full, 4-500 from Darvel probably a bit more from Pollok
  8. Well done the Vale today, best team for 55 mins and then a bit of a struggle, Mcinally has done a great job this season, don’t think he was there today though?
  9. Best team easily for the first 55 mins, then a hang on but Pollok were poor.
  10. Started last week by the wee Talbot Fuds unfortunately.
  11. For me Darvel controlled the game till the Talbot goal and then hung on for the rest of the game, for the village it’s a great achievement, I’m home telling my two boys about the last Junior Cup Final we were in and how proud their grandpa would be about getting to the final, great to see some old Darvel players there tonight that I’ve not seen for twenty plus years, thats what this cup means to traditional Junior teams.
  12. The non sharing of gate money has been going on since my dad was the treasurer of the club back in the early 80’s, it used to be very prevalent especially when the the smaller Ayrshire teams travelled to Glasgow in the Scottish or the West, you basically got what you got and if you didn’t like it tough.
  13. Is that because if you win the league you could potentially go into the Lowland League? From a Darvel perspective if you had to ask me I’d go with the cup as well.
  14. Including neutrals probably,be interesting to see what tickets Talbot get/ ask for.
  15. If it’s close after the first leg will talbot bring 600-700?
  16. I would agree with you that the style of play this year has been an easier watch with the ball getting into forward areas quicker, Micks philosophy is great but at times the ball is passed to death, don’t get me wrong it’s great to watch when there is an end product but I’ve been used to “ Junior “ football and it’s all about getting the ball forward. Talbot are the masters at it.
  17. That’s up to the club to encourage folk to go, it’s not up to fellow supporters to discourage, I don’t go to any away games and I’m probably only at half the home games, can I come to the talbot games?
  18. So you don’t want the people from the village to go and watch the team? Are you for real?
  19. The second leg doon the brae will be a sell-out if the first leg is close, Friday night fitba is great although it will be hard to beat the atmosphere I remember as an 11. And 12 year old at Love Street and Brockville in the 80’s midweek.
  20. I can’t see anyone benefitting financially when John goes.
  21. One of the old guard from Neil McPhersons time.
