  1. I know it probably doesn’t matter as the pie man will continue to throw in his cash but it’s surely a better business option staying in the WOSL.
  2. They have a weeks rest but Darvel Could play there 2nd string and beat St Cuthberts and then it’s a big advantage being at home on the Saturday.
  3. Killie are clever enough to keep him away from cameras and microphones, although I did hear he couldn’t help himself at the Killie player of the year awards
  4. Congratulations to the Darvel playing squad and management on winning the league, yes they probably have the highest budget, biggest squad, biggest coaching team and the park scenario led them to play umpteen games in a short time( something that almost always happens to successful clubs at this level) but they still had to win the games which they did. It will now be interesting to see what happens in the play-offs. Unfortunately not for the first time the classless comments from the top of the tree sours the victory slightly, unlike the managers gesture of giving his medal away to a lady who has served the club for many years, a bit of class shown there from Mick Kennedy.
  5. Serious question…… do you think the guys in charge of the money at the Talbot actually want the club to be first into the LL where the income will be seriously hit by next to no travelling support and also there is a chance they could go straight up into League 2 the following year and then the punters are paying £14 quid a game, will the Talbot fans pay that week in week out?
  6. First time doon the brae for a while and the two different styles of football made it a great watch. No doubt the Talbots style put the Darvel defence under pressure and I would agree that Darvel were the team looking for 3 pts near the end, a draw a fair result imo.
  7. Been dry all morning g with a good breeze but the forecast is not good from 4 onwards
  8. Cheers for the info as I’ve not really read into it all, the biggest problem Imo is only the 1 place for promotion/relegation and that should count from the bottom end of SLFL2 road to the Lowland and the lowland to tier 6, it should be at least 2 automatic spots and the colts should not be allowed any kind of promotion.
  9. So why is there so much uproar of the colts being in the Lowland League or was there more to the vote than just the colts issue?
  10. So having the colts in for another season is irrelevant to the process of getting through the pyramid?
  11. Next to no chance of the game being on going by past weather that has put previous games off.
  12. If there were no colts teams next season what would have been the relegation/promotion set up?
  13. I agree Tucker was using his squad and was definitely thinking about Wednesday Weather not looking good from Monday.
  14. Dress it up anyway you want, until clubs start moving up the pyramid punters who have been involved for decades will still call it the juniors.
  15. I know what you are saying and if the the finance guys at the clubs make the figures add up well I suppose you would want to move through asap but there is no doubt there would be a drop in finances due to attendance levels.
  16. I think those in charge at Darvel have made it clear they want to move through the leagues asap, I suppose only those in charge of the finances at both clubs can answer the question but I would think it may be better holding of for 2-3 seasons till there are potentially more WOSL clubs in the lowland league. I have only seen Gretna from the lowland league and tbh the game was boring as it was not competitive enough.
  17. Didn’t mean it in any other way than top of the league and although a long way to go possible champions with a crack at the lowland league. Would the Talbot want to be the first team out of the WOSL and into the Lowland given the quality of football is generally inferior and the travelling support again is largely zero and the negative impact that could have financially.
  18. Strong possibility of Darvel being no1 shortly….. is that a bad thing for the Talbot?
  19. Not denying that but there has clearly been a bit of a f**k up with the new drainage, maybe the club can’t come out and say that as they may be taking the company to task but it’s obvious that’s the issue.
  20. The issue isn’t the rain it’s the park, it’s been mentioned numerous times in social media and various podcasts that it is “ up there with the best pitches in the country” when it clearly isn’t. Let’s hope that the club take the company who re-done the pitch to task, it’s the2nd game that’s been off this season and the the 2nd time there has been a bit of heavy rain, that can’t bode well for the remainder of the winter.
  21. The pitch is great….. it’s the drainage that’s shite
  22. Is he any good, would he have been a regular starter for Clydebank?
