  1. Or go into hibernation if the association will allow it !
  2. Agree ! it goes beyond football and these are unprecedented times. Jobs, futures and quality of life are being effected not only now but for years to come and it should not be forgotten.
  3. One of a handful of bands and artists who's music has stood the test of time. PF music will be played and preformed for generations to come and revered as classical music is done today.
  4. That scenario should have been costed and part of the business plan and budget for the coming season. If the board don't have an action plan ready to go at an instant then the club is in danger. Deans is no financial mug and am confident he has got the number right on this. Sadly there will be some clubs that won't see the new year.
  5. One way round that is to have a 3-4 second delay in what is broadcast so the button presser can get the sounds matching what is broadcast.
  6. Its more than a song it's calling it as it is at present. Made all the more perverse that it was written decades ago.
  7. It is what it is and its better than no sound at all. Far from perfect but if you have somebody concentrating on the game and knows what he is doing with the buttons he is pressing then the end product will be better.
  8. To quote a line from a Dick Gaughin song 'There no gods and precious few hero's - But there are plenty on the dole in the Land of the Leal. Give it a listen and very apt for the time we are living in.
  9. Alston was the very upper limit but Kingsley is in a different universe financially. Don't see how it can happen, but also don't see the problem with throwing him a bone on the off-chance Kingsley was a good servant to Falkirk and left with everybody's best wishes and we got a decent payday. Kingsley was good for FFC and FFC was good for Kingsley. The guy has had a tragic 3 years and again it could be good for both parties. Gets himself fit and proves he is robust enough at a level where he can ease himself back to peak fitness and form. 6 month deal with a walk away clause and he just might bite !
  10. Hopefully some cracking games between us and with crowds all the better. Suspect some twists and turns this season and sadly don't think some clubs will make it to the end of the season.
  11. That was the talk in July when Hull let him go. Also the Neilson connection with Falkirk means they know each other which makes a big difference.
  12. Every team needs a player with a bit of devilment about them. FFC have been seen as a team you could bully since Vaulks and Sibbald left.
  13. Said this at the start. Lower league clubs and ones part time in particular just cannot afford the costs. Months if not weeks until some clubs fold or go into hibernation.
  14. Can't see it ! Last I heard Hearts were looking at him. Would make sense Neilson will know him from Falkirk and if fit ( which he has not been for 3 years ) would be a stand out in the league. Been a very unlucky player fitness wise and I wish him well.
  15. Remember the Leeds game well. Had watched Camelon a few times the season before and knew Crunchie was the business. Had Frankie Gray the Scotland fullback in his pocket. It was the arrival of a Falkirk all time great !
  16. Anybody remember the starts to seasons in the early 70's League Cup games. Teams from all the leagues in the group so there were a few days out to stadiums you did not go to often new teams new players to watch. Was popular as I remember it with good crowds and good games as the top teams got competitive warm up games and the smaller teams the glory of a cup win. Think there were about 6 -7 games then the season started.
  17. M&M signed Leitch, Sneddon and Laverty for the coming season. If their mindset is that they are getting a wage for nothing then M&M should be sacked. This season is the most import in years and no place for passengers. Sneddon, Leitch and Laverty should get a chance. 3 - 4 goals up with 30 minutes to go - get them on, let them have their chance they wont be short of motivation and will put pressure on for first team games if they impress.
  18. Reminds me of the diddy from the 60-70's Shire supporters ' Shiries a great wee team - Shiries a great wee team - If it's fitba yer after - Don't go to Brockville - Shiries a great wee team gez a goal ! gez a goal ! ( unfortunately it was an accurate observation ) Very good and funny, a good example of supporters wit. If we can't laugh at some of the piss takes aimed at us then what's the point of supporting the club at all. Anybody else remember other one's ? racking my brains now LOL.
  19. Brilliant individual goal ! what was so good as it became obvious what he was trying the support behaved like they were at the horse racing cheering him on to the winning line. One of the few memorable moments in a miserable era. Was never the most skillful player but had a good engine in him and at least he tried every game - liked him.
  20. Was that the Stevenson goal were he ran from the penalty box at the car park end and put it in the pokey at the railway end ?
  21. Never got a first team game so maybe never made the list.
  22. The shovel head smacking ritual was by a guy called Oliphant from the Bog Road as I remember. Was making a name for himself in the reserves but got the heave ho after introducing his shovel to somebodies skull.
  23. Keeper is a must the rest would be a bonus that at a stretch the club could live without. Would be good if Sneddon and Laverty were to get their chance. If they produce the goods then that is your latter two positions covered.
  24. The consortium are not investing out the goodness of their heart. This is a business venture and rightly they are in it to get a return on it. Fair enough ! I don't have an issue with that and any realist that is a supporter will agree. I go back to the best example of a benign investor and that was Fergus McCann at Celtic. He was up front with the support with what he was going to do. Save the club from going out of business. Build a new stadium. Put in sound financial management procedures. Make the club a profitable business. When he leaves having accomplished that he goes with his original investment and 50 million. Hated for it at the time but in the long term it was the right thing to do. All I ask from the new investors is the same straight talking. This is what we are putting in and this is what we are taking out to make it worth our while. That's fair !
