    Holiday insurance.

I had a worldwide policy with Post Office which runs out in August, think it cost me around £100.

I had a stroke on 31st Dec in Poland.  Post Office new all this coz I informed them and their medical team eventually had to repatriate me.

So, I called them yesterday to see if my policy had changed as I wanted to go to Portugal in April/May.

Woman told me that my change of policy (as apparently I was officially informing them I had had a stroke) would cost me an extra £738 until August.

They said I can leave it but I would not be insured for anything that could be stroke related.

They also said that I could claim my Germany trip with my mate for the Euros, (which I had booked before my stroke and I will be well enough to go.  It would have left my mate in the lurch if I cancelled).

Or I could cancel my policy and I would get the money balance of a refund on my unused policy until August.

So I did a bit of shopping around and could get a Europe only policy for a year with Admiral (with my stroke/health issues noted) for £120-£170 depending on policy.

So I called them back asking if they changed my policy to Europe only from now until August how much, if anything would it cost.

The guy said, not only were they unable to change my policy, if I closed my policy (and took the remaining money) it would also close my claim for my expenses I was claiming for (in Poland, about £200 for meds, £3000 for medical treatment and over £500 I had shelled out for my trip to Peru that i purchased 5 days before my stoke).

He said my policy must remain open for any claim you have submitted to remain live.

If he had not told me I would have no idea.  The woman had said nothing earlier.

I just hope my claim is settled before August.  They said they have received the relevant paperwork.

Upshot is, I have a new year long policy that has my stroke notified on it for £154 and will leave my policy open so my claim is live.  As for the £728...chancers!

Fucking dicks, to be fair they’ve got a lot of compo to pay out to former postmasters / mistresses because previously the PO were....... fucking dicks!

Trump fails to secure a bond for the fraud case. His lawyers saying it’ll be pretty much impossible to achieve given the vast sums involved. They’ve approached several insurance and bond brokers who want the money upfront cash, and are not not willing take real estate as collateral. They’re look at $557m (120% of settlement) up front plus 2 years interest.

In reality, Trump needs to find almost $600m cash, which he clearly doesn’t have.

What are the consequences for not paying it? I understand he can’t appeal until it’s lodged but other than that what happens?

  3. Ffs @The SandDancer, I’m amazed I’m even responding to this, but not even football related, you joined the forum as a “long time lurker” pffft, to contribute to the discussion, for sure, you contributed, but not to any discussion, you want it your way or you respond with utter drivel & insults. Go back to being a lurker & let the adults have a proper grown up discussion about the national team.

Just because not everyone (including me) doesn’t agree that McGregor should be dropped in favour of Lewis doesn’t mean we are talking “pish”.

This section of the forum normally evolves into a healthy exchange of views, where sometimes people change their stance & sometimes not, but when within an hour of joining the conversation you start disregarding others views as “pish” maybe you are the problem?

And so, once again VikingWang decides to:

    1) Slither forth and vomit another steaming pile of ignorance upon a topic.

    2) Take comments of other posters and deliberately misrepresent their meanings with selective quoting and/or outright falsehoods.

    3) Attempt to represent that his comments or beliefs were somehow prescient or omnipotent while ignoring his multitude of erroneous posts.

Surely he has just arisen after sleeping off a massive bender due to his crushing disappointment at Morton’s loss on Tuesday night. Hush little angel, Div’s playground is here to provide you some feelings of superiority and self importance. Don’t be mad that your favourite God-Emperor is a bumbling psychopath, distract yourself from reality by commenting and attacking, it’ll make the upcoming second anniversary of your true love’s death in September more tolerable.

Really struggling to take sides in this one tbh.

On one hand @TxRoveris a hyper googler, needs to appear as an expert on everything, which tbf, is sometimes useful. But it’s a wee bit “Bot”

On the other hand, @virginton is a sanctimonious, trolling c**t with little to no self awareness, someone I’d hate to meet in the pub. Just an utter w**k, who will undoubtedly reply with, who are you? Standard operating procedure, I’ll be mewling, seething, biege, etc etc, how someone can get pleasure from that is an anathema to me, an obviously intelligent guy resorting to that shite is beyond me, never seems to make a point anymore.

    Cue, Ainsley Harriet.

I refer to it as a general guide. No substitute for watching and re-watching a game multiple times, but that's time consuming! For McTominay, I interpret the relationship between his goals and the xG of his shots as highlighting a change in his game - we know it's due to a tweak in his position/role. I think over time both numbers will converge.

I assume the xG of a shot is fixed: based on where a shot is taken from, but doesn't take into account who takes it. If so, that's an obvious flaw if Craig Gordon's xG for taking a penalty is the same as M'Bappe's.

Craig Gordon’s would be better, Scotland don’t miss penalties.

See on your cheapo chipboard kitchen cupboard doors, when the fixing gets pulled out, including the rawlplugs, and wrecks the 'wood', what's the best way to repair it?

    Entire new kitchen required IMO.

Is it just me or are more&more TV documentaries getting needlessly longer?

Or even just needless? I was really looking forward to CH4 docu-series about corrupt police, absolutely pointless, should have just put a test card saying that cops investigating their own will result in zero consequences. I was deeply disappointed & no idea how it made it to air.

  8. Where’s this widest possible debate even coming from? MPs from all parties get to debate & vote on the motion & any amendments submitted. It’s a load of absolute nonsense. The whole stitch up was so as not to display (again), the current splits in the Labour Party.

Hoyle has to go, all this bullshit about safety concerns is just that, bullshit!

Starmer being a sleekit coward comes as no shock to me, the narrative by the MSM has moved from splits in Labour to the speaker, so in that regard it’s worked..... for now.

I've never said cops are c***s. I've said the ones I know hold little to no common sense. I work with them, I've seen them jam big roller doors open in armed parts of Aberdeen AND Dundee and walk sway leaving guns etc in the open cars and lockers unattended.

If that's how comfortable they are with what may or may not occur due to their actions then I for one wouldn't want the rest of my life decided by them when there is an actual situation on the go.

Ok, maybe I’ve picked up the wrong  end of the stick but I assumed your first sentence was making an argument of losing a dog whose attacked someone was a punishment for the owners? Correct me if I’m wrong, but that’s not the way it comes across.

If you want to debate whether our police forces & certain officers in particular aren’t fit for purpose, set up a poll & I’ll agree with you wholeheartedly. This is a thread particularly about these dogs & in general I agree with the shooting of these dogs if they’ve caused injury.

Your first sentence set the entire tone of how I read your post, and by @Bairnardos post, don’t think I was alone in that.

ETA- I never said, you said police were c***s,  you didn’t. I’m only saying that polis being c***s & owners of these dogs also being c***s isn’t a mutually exclusive situation.

    There is. The dogs deid.

These police are paid - quite handsomely - to be prepared for being called upon. I wouldn't trust the ones I know/have met with a can opener. To have the rest of your life or financial future dictated by the actions of one of these rockets is a massive no no.

Aye, that’s a strange hill to plant your flag on! Are cops in general a bit dickish? Yeah.

Are cops shooting dogs who are bred purposefully to be aggressive, who have just proven their bred traits by attacking other dogs or humans correct in shooting them, absolutely!

Theres a more nuanced discussion, polis are acting correctly under the law, and I for one, wouldn’t like to face one of these beasts with a friendly manner & a nightstick.

    Cops are c***s & these dogs & their owners are c***s isn’t a paradox.

For some reason when the water of the flat next to mine is turned off, ours goes off as well. Unfortunately next door is having work done to their kitchen. So my water is off. Gone over and spoken to the guys and obviously they didn't know it was the case (why would they? It's a terrible system) and they'll turn it on as soon as they can. Still annoying.

Surely they are switching it off at the stop cock before their internal one? Every house should have an internal stop cock surely?

  12. I think they should all be put down tbh. Not fair on the dogs, I know, but a beast like that wouldn’t look too out of place on the plains of Africa. The guy advertising, freely admitting that the dog is at the very least a danger to other male dogs.

Trump’s gofundme currently at $433k, with about 8,700 donations, averaging $49. Assuming this continues, his fans will be tapped out around the $10 million mark. What is scary will be watching if there is a surge of donations about 1 March as the elderly receive benefits checks.

How long does he have to appeal the fine? CBA researching it.
