  1. Decent Tuesday evening viewing , EC will be gutted with the chances they missed first half , probably should've had 3 , defo the one no 7 was clean through , we looked sloppy at the back for 15/20 mins and they took one of their chances , great header by McGlynn for equaliser and then to be fair would say we pretty much bossed the game , got another couple (bit of class from Cunningham )and then switched off at the end , EC have a cracking few youngsters in their team but a very welcome 3 points in the bag the night

This thread has become a car crash, with the last few pages being filled with about 3/4 posters arguing with each other and twisting each others’ words to make them look stupid. Please stop. We all want the same thing, and the reality is nobody on here is likely to be ‘right’ about everything.

Everyone’s entitled to their opinions on things. Everyone’s entitled to draw their own conclusions. If you disagree with someone, you don’t need to keep attacking them. Likewise, if someone disagrees with you, you don’t need to keep going at them. We don’t all have to agree.

It’s honestly getting to the stage that I’ve been avoiding this thread, because it’s just reminding me of .net - which, ironically, most of you criticise because it’s exactly what this thread is in danger of becoming.

For what it’s worth, the facts are that we have failed to sign experienced players when they have been targeted. None of us know why, but the fact that some of these players (like Wotherspoon) have come to train with us, been offered a contract, continued to train etc, suggests that it’s not a case of them just not wanting to come here. It suggests that it comes down to money. What I would say, is that the experienced players we have signed, the vast majority have worked with McPake/Mackay before - which suggests people actually like/want to work with them.

Experienced players will generally ask for more money than youngsters. That’s normal. But a lot of these experienced players will have families to feed, bills to pay etc. their experience is also very valuable on the park and in training - as we have found out. If we have opted not to pay this ‘premium’ for experience and opted for ‘cheaper’ inexperienced players instead, we’re now paying the price. That suggestion doesn’t seem too farfetched, when you look at the business we’ve done in the last 7/8 months. Regardless of what has happened/gone wrong with the offers to experienced players, I’m sure everyone involved is now seeing exactly why you have to pay more for experience.

Players at our level aren’t earning life-changing money and the experienced ones don’t have a long career ahead of them. Their decisions will absolutely come down to money. Just as career decisions will with just about everyone on here - if you have a couple of job offers on the table, one’s offering you £40k per year, the other is offering £45k, which one are you taking?

For the avoidance of doubt, (before people start twisting words to suit their own agenda) this doesn’t mean there’s some kind of agenda by the board/investors. It simply means that mistakes have been made and, to date, haven’t been rectified/fixed.

Great quote , just been thinking though you guys were a lot happier in league 1 and winning so maybe going to take a few yo yo like seasons to get back on track as much as it pains you

This game is the easiest one for me to get to, but I’ve spent all of this week contemplating whether I can be arsed with it or not. I’m going, but expect it to be fucking miserable.

Weathers meant to be horrendous all day the mora , rains felt like ice blocks hitting you today and more of the same expected tomorrow, wrap up lads

Queens have won one and lost five of the last six games between the teams.
The only win was in the last game of last season at Palmerston and was commemorated with a sign being left up outside the ground, sadly since removed.
That was actually the last time Queens beat anybody other than Edinburgh or Annan at home in a league game.

And that was a just a day oot for our boys as well as meant heehaw for either team 😂😂

Aye O'Donnell & Moore make a big difference to that starting 11. Was it a straight red for O'Donnell last week?

Aye think it was can't recall him being booked beforehand , Thomson was yellowed that's only one I remember , trying to block it from memory 😂😂

Decent. Can tell he wasn't 100% match sharp but worked well & looks a threat.

That's great Leo , few Hamilton fans not happy he's out on loan , missing Moore and Cunningham from squad yesterday I see as well , hopefully Moore not too far away from a return as will improve us further

Raging the way he's been treated by the club. He's arguably our best striker but because he wasn't one of Rankin's favourites he didn't get played. He will impress at Kelty hopefully by the end of this loan we have a new manager with sense who decides to keep him for next season.

We just needed a player who will score some of the chances we create and maybe the kick up the back side our forwards need

I've been watching East Kilbride now for 6 or 7 seasons.

We've came up against some brilliant teams these past few years, kelty, Spartans, bonnyrigg and in the playoffs cove rangers.

This year we are the team to beat and it's obvious with the vociferous comments on here regarding our team, signings and management.

Some of the crap directed at mk is laughable, more often than not from people that have never met the guy.

I'd be be surprised if any fan critical of him would be unhappy if he was appointed manager of their team.

He's always come across as friendly and approachable at east Kilbride. Sorry if this doesn't fit your narrative.

Unfortunately the modern game is about money, spending, money and spending, if you don't realise this you're either a fool or a romanticist.

Yes EK have outspent the rest of the teams in the lowland league, do I feel bad about that? No. Am I frustrated about that, absolutely. We've signed and ditched players before I can even get to know their names.

Do I have influence on that? Absolutely not.

East Kilbride is a massive town with a massive potential. We have fans in strathaven, eaglesham, jackton, Blantyre and surrounding areas, the catchment is huge.

I do think we'll win the league. Will we win a play off against a team like brechin? I don't know.

I do fancy our chances if we do and meet a team like Clyde.

If we do win promotion, i will always without word of a lie watch the lowland league. I think the teams in it, apart from the colts are great clubs and I've enjoyed all my away visits this year. I'm looking forward to cowden this weekend.

    Mon the kilby

Teams will always spend what they can to better their position in the football league and any fans team that has that luxury of a bigger budget than most would gladly enjoy the ride it's the same from the top to the bottom, EK have always been there or there abouts and i personally hope they do get up to keep the pathway to league football flowing

Getting out the LL is going to get more difficult over time so will be money well spent in the long run as League 2 teams are now beginning to realise they better get their shit together or it's down they go

on the upside the LL is turning into a great league with ambitious teams and fallen league teams and shows an 18 team league is the way to go imo playing each other  twice instead of this 4 times a season pish

Mcallister is young boy & not as physically developed as Bavidge who's the same age...& it shows. McKay didn't do too much wrong for me but overall we were terrible.

We are still in the mix with it so tight from 4th to 8th but need some wins on the board soon.

Your right neeb not far off playoffs but last two performances have shown we are lacking that killer touch up front and defence looks vulnerable when under pressure , all teams hit a sticky patch throughout a season so hopefully that's us had ours , perfect chance on Saturday to get it right against a struggling Edinburgh side , surely a must win for us if any hope of a playoff place

    Where to start....

Almost full strength team from us bar Gourlay, Thomson, O'Donnell & CJ. Still all first team starting 11.

Uni are a very good LL league side, tidy & hungry all over the park. Well done them!

    Us however...

Lyon & Tidser towing caravans tonight. Botti was ineffective up top & Stef McCluskey was simply crap. Young Mcallister is clearly talented but he's not a wide midfielder in a month of Sundays. We could habe been 3 up in the first 20 but Uni were always in it. Utter shambolic defending 2nd half from cross balls.

Tidser better get them lifted for the weekend!!

Bit my tongue last night after Saturday but that was woeful last night neeb

12 goals conceded since McKay stepped into defence so maybe the Falkirk fans were right after all

not one player last night can say that that was treated as nothing more than a training session hopefully because if they were trying their hardest out there last night then we are in for a testing second half of the season

Lyon looked like the cat that never got the cream as in the move he was expecting

    Tidser ineffective

Dont rate Mcallister at this level at all

    Defence brutal at times

up shit creek if Gourlay gets injured as Campbell not good enough replacement at this level

McAllister loan probably has a playing clause but fully agreed Kelheart. Cunningham has been good but never seems to stay in the team.

Wee Owens struggled today in CM

Owens struggles with anything bar right back neeb

I get there might be a playing clause but surely that can't mean they have to start every single game while our own signed players are benched ??
Anyway red wines flowing just have to drink to try and forget the most powderpuff display since Tids took over

“Very average team”……sounds like you had hit the red wine earlier in the afternoon. Bit of a heads gone comment from one of Kelty’s more reliable posters. Disappointing.

Well your no exactly world beaters to be fair and have been struggling of late a wee bit but pumped us well and truly today and we are I'd say a very average team as well for that matter , anyway I'm just annoyed and disappointed with us after that today so apologies if comments upset you guys

Skelped today. Tons of possession but no real penetration. The young lads got ruffled after we went 3 down.

Tidser missed in the side again. Some work to do to push upwards again.

Where to begin today with that neeb

I'm all for young ones getting a chance but if I was Cunningham I'd be livid that Mcallister was getting a start before me , Moore has to be injured or would've surely started , really miss Tidser absolutely powderpuff in midfield today and that rests with Tids selection

Pumped by a very average team who actually shot when they could unlike us , very bad day at the office so away to hit the red wine
    Mon Kelty
