  1. Wrong Ross Stewart, that's the goalkeeper at Livingston.
  2. I like Sporle, but the idea of him defending in general but especially against Martin Boyle gives me the absolute fear.
  3. My point is that if you actually cared about "calling him out", you would do it in a way so that the most possible people would see it. Not on a football website that I can't imagine that many people actually go on regularly. edit - Also, even if United fans are disgusted it doesn't really have much relevance, he's not involved in the club in anyway, I can't think of anyone involved on the playing side still at the club that would've been appointed by him and The Thompson era feels a million years ago.
  4. If you want to "call him out" write an article or post the picture on facebook or twitter. Don't post it on a niche forum. Dundee United fans hate Stephen Thompson for a variety of reasons, being a nonce will be one of them.
  5. Mental what happens when you play him in the middle where he fucking should be playing.
  6. Part 2 available now, covering 11-25 If you thought my choices in the first one was questionable, then you're gonna love this! https://josephhartwinks.wordpress.com/2020/08/04/ranking-every-dundee-united-player-of-the-banter-years-era-part-2-11-25/
  7. if that's him idk why @ArabianKnight would be against him. injury hit sure but his record the last season seems pretty impressive.
  8. If I had just downed a can of paint that would also be my interpretation of recent events
  9. hahahaha, The Banter Years are cruel and unfair so unfortunately Nads must feature.
  10. Out of curiosity, was it the writing style or the player placement?
  11. https://josephhartwinks.wordpress.com/2020/07/27/ranking-every-dundee-united-player-of-the-banter-years-era-part-1-1-10/ Because apparently I'm a glutton for pain, I've taken on the task of ranking every single player to have played for United From the 2nd of February 2015 to the 15th of April 2020, aka "The Banter Years." I've started from the best and working my way down, so here's my ten favourite players (favourite is the key word) players from this era of United. For the love of god please enjoy.
  12. Coach of their USL team so it makes sense for now while they look for their permanent hire. The season is a write off at this point.
  13. Nick Ross' winner in the January 2016 derby. I know that Craig Wighton's winner is the more famous won that season, but that one didn't really bother me. I wasn't at the game and we were already going down anyway even though it wasn't official so when the notification came up on my phone I was laughing instead of being distraught. I remember Ross' shot hitting off Sean Dillon into the net though, it's very clear in my mind. Because that was the moment I realized "holy shit we're going down". United were 13 points behind Kilmarnock and 15 behind Hamilton and yet for some reason my stupid fifteen year old brain thought we would still stay up. That goal, and watching him run off the towards the Dundee fans in the North Stand, just washed the delusion away.
  14. (Responding to the bit in bold) I really don't think it's fair to label Pawlett's poor performances (or the majority of poor performances by footballers) as down to him not being bothered. I think at this point with the amount of injuries he's had (and the amount of times he's played through injuries) there's just a level of caution in his game that doesn't give him the willingness to take risk and the arrogance you need to have the play direct attacking the style he plays. If he can get over that, then he could be good for us, But I just don't think he'll able to at this point. Some 5th tier team desperately trying to get promoted will probably be his next destination when his United contract is up.
  15. One of the biggest issues with Neilson (since we're moaning about him again) is that his plan B was always better than his plan A. That great run of 14 unbeaten games in the league came when his favorites where out injured and he had to switch the players who actually deserved to be there. We started to stutter with wins becoming draws conveniently around the time when Pawlett came back from his injury and he kept rotating Connolly, Watson, and Reynolds despite Watson and Reynolds working really well together.
  16. Considering they've probably had the best transfer window in the league that's a stupid team to compare us to as they should be challenging for 3rd/4th with their squad.
  17. (and now, a post that tempts fate) This is said about literally every team (except Rangers and the two edinburgh teams) that gets promoted, "you're the weakest in the league" "you're squad's no good enough", "the championship is a shit standard compared to the Premiership". The last team to go straight back down was Dundee in 12-13, and they have the excuse of being club 12 and only have a month to prepare for the league. Do I think we'll be challenging for 3rd? no of course not, but I don't think we'll be in a relegation dogfight either, honesty I think this season might be pretty dull with us finishing somewhere like 7th or 8th.
  18. awrite lads, United got their trophy yesterday, did Raith Rovers?
