  1. OK mate, a couple of questions for you! What's the latest on when we'll actually play our first game in Meadowbank? Also, once we are back in Meadowbank will we change back to Saturday afternoon kick offs or still be stuck with Friday nights?
  2. I think this is the main reason there's No buzz or excitement for Edinburgh City fans. At this time of year most fans are optimistic their team might have been improved. We clearly have gone backwards and though not fair to pick anyone out it's Naysmith that's done the damage to the team. The Friday night shambles, looks like the board of directors have been caught out by their hurry to get back to Meadowbank, (should have just waited another season, imho) and now been left with the scraps at Ainslie Park now LTHV have moved in our place.
  3. There is a saying, that "there's a first time for everything!". The most obvious answer to this question however, is probably the Annan boy. Maybe the Stirling guy if they had a poor start (which I can't see).
  4. It's a bit early to predict for sure with teams to complete their squads. To try to predict at this stage, I'd say Kelty Hertz will win the league by Easter. Only Stirling Albion look capable of challenging for a while so they'd be second for me. As you say everyone else look much of a muchness and could finish anywhere from 3rd to 10th. Probably Stranraer and Elgin for the other two play-off places.
  5. I don't know Tam, I'm sure someone at the club said we were trying to get out of this league! Anyway, I quite enjoyed the Lowland league days!
  6. Ouzy would be half decent as a second striker at this level. The problem I can see is we still need to sign a main striker, and then play with two up top. At the moment we'll not score many so may be trying to sneak 1-0 wins, most weeks. Ryan Shanley looked good at Bonnyrigg but seems to have disappeared, but it's all young boys in the attacking positions I feel we need to get a more experienced forward in.
  7. "A little vulnerable at the back" you say. I'll add, "nothing at all up front" Not sure I'd expect top 4 with this team...
  8. Thanks for answering mate! I hope Kelty have plans to upgrade their ground a bit with extra seated stands if they want to progress up through the leagues? That ground is decent for the juniors, but not good enough for a league team.
  9. I'm looking at ticket options on the fanbase app, but not being familiar with the ground they don't mean much to me. My question really is are you not allowed in the wee seated stand? All ticket options seem to be for standing only.
  10. I wondered IF there were any / what are the latest, plans on ground expansion with Kelty being a league club now? The stand on the primary school side only goes half the length of the pitch. Could that be extended to run the full length of the pitch for example?
  11. It is indeed Pete, and the City fans are buzzing for some Friday night football! My phone hasn't stopped! mate's constantly asking if I've managed to secure a ticket for this one... If we still had the same team from the last three years, I'd fancy City to sneak a 1-0 win. However I've no idea how good or bad this new team will be so no prediction.
  12. I think this all depends where you're coming from as to which venue suits better. See, I'd be the opposite to you Ally, as I actually like Ainslie Park. It's handier for me and I think you get a good view from the stand. I'm 70/30 about going on Friday. Now, if it were at Meadowbank I'd 100 percent NOT be going as that's a trek I'll not be doing on a Friday night. Plus I think it'll be a shite view (first season at least) until that other new stand gets built. (Anyone know where we're at with that?). Anyway, it's good to have the chance to go in to the games this weekend after a year off. See how our New team looks.
  13. Ah! Right. Got you now boss. Well, you never know with the way it's going recently...
  14. I think City should've waited another season until Meadowbank was actually ready before quitting Ainslie Park and letting LTHV replace them.
  15. Calum Antell to Arbroath, Craig Thomson to Cowdenbeath, Andy Black to Kelty Hearts, Conrad Balatoni to Snyde, Mark Laird to Stirling Albion. Bair Henderson incredibly dropped doon to Spartans!
  16. The new manager decided to release Antell, Thomson, Black, Lairdy and Blair Henderson. He must have saw something our support can't see and thought they weren't good enough!!! Balatoni transferred to play for the Clyde clowns. Liam Broon rightly got himself a move up to league one with QP. Liam Henderson incredibly, mananged to get himself a move up to the championship with Arbroath. This leaves us very light on numbers and quality so don't expect to see us make the play offs next season!
  17. It was only the first friendly of the season, but no surprise we got beat looking at that starting team sheet. That's what happens when empty out all your best players.
  18. Apart from the arsehole Clyde fans, quite a few of you Cowdenbeath boys were probably the most vocal against Thommo in his time with City! So I found it surprising, and really a bit amusing that he's now signed for your team. The thing is, he's a very good player so if your main interest is seeing your team do well then he's a good signing for you. That might still not be good enough for some people though.
  19. Apart from big sexy Robbie, I don't feel much connection with that lot that's left there! It's going to feel strange next season, seeing almost 11 strangers wearing our Edinburgh City shirts. Between that, and the Friday night nonsense things are going to feel different from now on. Good luck to all the new guys coming in though. Hopefully we'll end up with a decent team.
  20. Yes you'd have thought so. For me, Blair Henderson to Spartans is an amazing transfer! Like you say, you'd have expected him to move upwards to a League one team. Reading between the lines, with his comments on leaving the club, he just wants to play every week. Gary Naismith has come in, and emptied out all our good players, and seems he won't guarantee Blair Henderson as much game time as Blair would like. So Hendo has dropped down to a team he can play every week. Fair play to him, I'm certain he'll fire in 20+ goals for Spartans next season.
  21. I liked GT. Good player. I thought he was quite skilful. His problem is being very light weight, makes him ineffective. Cowdenbeath fans will be able to tell you more about him.
  22. With everything that's going on at the club at the moment, there's no point announcing season tickets! Reading the various social media, not many of the fans are happy about Friday nights.
  23. What aboot Sunday games? At least it could be in the afternoon or is that time booked as well?
  24. Once again I find myself shaking my head in disbelief. Time will tell, but Naysmith is either going to end up looking like a genius, or a fuckin clown I guess no one will be complaining if we win league two next season, so we'll see how it goes!!!
