  1. I'd agree! Apologies to the Stenny fans here to talk about Friday nights match.
  2. There's No doubt if your coming from say Musselburgh or Portobello, anywhere south or west and having a session in the pub is important, then Meadowbank is a great move. If your coming from North Edinburgh, Fife, anywhere North just to watch a football match then this move to "a shite K-Park" is not so attractive! What I'm not having is people saying you get a rubbish view of the game at Ainslie Park. Much better to watch the actual match at AP than it's going to be at Meadowbank with the running track and small three row stand.
  3. Too true! Lets be honest though, the fact Meadowbank is closer to most people's houses . and more importantly the PUB is the big winner here! The actual football, (For anyone that's interested!) getting played in a shite "K-park knock-off" doesn't seem to be of any importance!
  4. Of course it is! It will be a good game. Two good teams.
  5. I doubt anyone from Kelty will give two fox about the "challenge cup" once they get another three points on Saturday!
  6. I don't know about that! I think it was a very smart move from Kelty to get out of this shite meaningless cup after one game to concentrate on the real football that matters! Securing the League 2 title.
  7. Tidied that up a wee bit! I think Conrad Balatoni was looking finished last season. However, there's No doubt still having Callum Antell, Craig Thomson, Andy Black, Mark Laird and Blair Henderson would make a massive improvement to that Current team we've got there!!!
  8. I hear what your saying and it has indeed been a while. If we still had the bulk of last seasons squad and were optimistic about promotion, then I'd be up there in a flash. HOWEVER....as you know, with what we've been left with this season, and following last week's "performance" then I'd no hold my breath too long. So, I'm out. Just to add, and to hope we can salvage something here, I hope we start with both John Robertson AND Ryan Shanley both up top.
  9. Naysmith out quickly please City before it's too late this season!
  10. Also, the reason I said we should have stayed another season was wait until Meadowbank was COMPLETELY finished. By that I mean the big extra stand we're supposed to be getting on the opposite side. What's the latest with that? At the moment, even If we did get into Meadowbank we'd be left with a small three row shed designed for athletics viewing.
  11. OK mate, a couple of questions for you! What's the latest on when we'll actually play our first game in Meadowbank? Also, once we are back in Meadowbank will we change back to Saturday afternoon kick offs or still be stuck with Friday nights?
  12. I think this is the main reason there's No buzz or excitement for Edinburgh City fans. At this time of year most fans are optimistic their team might have been improved. We clearly have gone backwards and though not fair to pick anyone out it's Naysmith that's done the damage to the team. The Friday night shambles, looks like the board of directors have been caught out by their hurry to get back to Meadowbank, (should have just waited another season, imho) and now been left with the scraps at Ainslie Park now LTHV have moved in our place.
  13. There is a saying, that "there's a first time for everything!". The most obvious answer to this question however, is probably the Annan boy. Maybe the Stirling guy if they had a poor start (which I can't see).
  14. It's a bit early to predict for sure with teams to complete their squads. To try to predict at this stage, I'd say Kelty Hertz will win the league by Easter. Only Stirling Albion look capable of challenging for a while so they'd be second for me. As you say everyone else look much of a muchness and could finish anywhere from 3rd to 10th. Probably Stranraer and Elgin for the other two play-off places.
  15. I don't know Tam, I'm sure someone at the club said we were trying to get out of this league! Anyway, I quite enjoyed the Lowland league days!
  16. Ouzy would be half decent as a second striker at this level. The problem I can see is we still need to sign a main striker, and then play with two up top. At the moment we'll not score many so may be trying to sneak 1-0 wins, most weeks. Ryan Shanley looked good at Bonnyrigg but seems to have disappeared, but it's all young boys in the attacking positions I feel we need to get a more experienced forward in.
  17. "A little vulnerable at the back" you say. I'll add, "nothing at all up front" Not sure I'd expect top 4 with this team...
  18. Thanks for answering mate! I hope Kelty have plans to upgrade their ground a bit with extra seated stands if they want to progress up through the leagues? That ground is decent for the juniors, but not good enough for a league team.
  19. I'm looking at ticket options on the fanbase app, but not being familiar with the ground they don't mean much to me. My question really is are you not allowed in the wee seated stand? All ticket options seem to be for standing only.
  20. I wondered IF there were any / what are the latest, plans on ground expansion with Kelty being a league club now? The stand on the primary school side only goes half the length of the pitch. Could that be extended to run the full length of the pitch for example?
  21. It is indeed Pete, and the City fans are buzzing for some Friday night football! My phone hasn't stopped! mate's constantly asking if I've managed to secure a ticket for this one... If we still had the same team from the last three years, I'd fancy City to sneak a 1-0 win. However I've no idea how good or bad this new team will be so no prediction.
  22. I think this all depends where you're coming from as to which venue suits better. See, I'd be the opposite to you Ally, as I actually like Ainslie Park. It's handier for me and I think you get a good view from the stand. I'm 70/30 about going on Friday. Now, if it were at Meadowbank I'd 100 percent NOT be going as that's a trek I'll not be doing on a Friday night. Plus I think it'll be a shite view (first season at least) until that other new stand gets built. (Anyone know where we're at with that?). Anyway, it's good to have the chance to go in to the games this weekend after a year off. See how our New team looks.
  23. Ah! Right. Got you now boss. Well, you never know with the way it's going recently...
  24. I think City should've waited another season until Meadowbank was actually ready before quitting Ainslie Park and letting LTHV replace them.
