  1. Bonnyrigg Rose 3-2 Stranraer Clyde 1-2 Peterheed Elgin 1-0 East Fife Forfar 0 - 2 Spartans Stenny 1 - 1 Dumbarton
  2. Scott Mercer the latest player to leave having signed for Bonnyrigg Rose Good move for him
  3. Gutted! Just when you think this season can't get any worse, something else comes along!!! That seems a very harsh punishment to me, but hey, were only Edinburgh City so it doesn't really matter. Feel really sorry for all the players, management team and even the fans that have all been shat on here! So that's the final nail hammered in for the season it seems. Hopefully can't get any worse now...
  4. Olly Mcdonald lads? Was he any good for you?
  5. I've no idea who even plays for us these days, I believe even our loan players have left now. Be interesting at 2 o'clock to see our team line up for today's game! Bookies have Alloa at 18/1 ON, to win and City at 33/1 which says it all about our current situation. Enjoy your day!
  6. Hamilton Accies must have went away hame at half-time. Good to see City winning the second half 2-0 though!
  7. Bonnyrigg Rose 2-2 The Spartans Clyde 2-2 Stenhousemuir Elgin City 0-2 Peterhead Forfar Athletic 1-0 East Fife Stranraer 2-3 Dumbarton
  8. Great to see Ouzy coming back in to help the team! Well done to the 11 boys that wanted to wear our Jerseys today!
  9. Fontaine is such an important player for us, and it seems once he got subbed off the defence collapsed. There are a couple of the 20s boys that are ready for the first team but the rest are nowhere near it! We've no other choice though! It is what it is.
  10. East Fife 2-2 Bonnyrigg Dumbarton 3-0 Clyde Peterhead 2-1 Forfar Stenhousemuir 4-0 Elgin Spartans 2-1 Stranraer
  11. Very good player is Innes! Arbroath have done well persuading him to move up there! Attacking midfielder, fast on the break, gets good crosses over and shots from range. I'd imagine he'll be one of your better players.
  12. When he first arrived I thought he was really good last season. This season we've not seen him as often, he's not had so much game time. He Should do really well in League 2! Good signing for you.
  13. I'm at the stage where I'm thinking we would be just as well going under anyway! What's the point trying to battle on with this farce? So we take our inevitable relegation like men. Next season what? Try to stabilise in League Two for a few seasons? If we stay at Meadowbank once this season is over then crowds will NEVER improve. Even the home support don't want to go anymore! All the "faces" you used to see regularly 2,3 or 4 years ago at Ainslie Park have took one look at Meadowbank and decided "No thanks, this not for me" even the "supporters club" guys have more or less stopped going from what I can see. Hopefully the chairman can find a miracle solution somewhere, and the club can get back to League one someday, but right now it's hard to see much of a future for Edinburgh City fc.
  14. Aye, I've got some thoughts about that, but without knowing the facts best wait on this statement coming out before saying anything!
  15. I never used to rate him, BUT, he's played very well this season. So decent signing for Stirling! However, as another one is confirmed away, I just like to say what a thoroughly depressing time this is to be an Edinburgh city supporter!
  16. I'm seeing a few similarities between us! You seem to have the same problems! My knowledge of the Highland league is obviously poor. Which other teams are in the Aberdeen area out of interest?
  17. No. I meant go and play in the Highland League. I'm sure other League one or two clubs would've paid him as well to play in a better league.
  18. SO it's all about the money then, as he can't be interested in the Highland league fixtures surely? His debut is (maybe) at home to Huntly today, then travel away up to Brora next weekend. Good Luck to him for the rest of the season, if that's what he wants to do.
  19. Cove would obviously go part-time, if the worst happens to you. Probably back to the Highland League as well to save travel costs. I take it you don't get many Aberdeen fans attending your games? We've the same problem that not many (if any) Hibs fans are interested in us, despite being five minutes along the road and supposedly some "partnership" with them.
  20. I'm no fussed that he's decided to leave us, but am shocked he's chosen to play in the highland League!
  21. There's betting for the game now. 1/4 Queens and 8/1 Edinburgh under 20s team. Sums it up really. The standout bet for me is Queens leading at HT/FT which is 4/5. Nearly evens. That's buying money surely.
  22. Elgin City 0-1 The Spartans Forfar Athletic 1-1 Dumbarton Peterhead 2-0 Clyde Stenhousemuir 2-0 East Fife Stranraer 1-2 Bonnyrigg Rose
  23. If we're bringing our (mostly) under 20 team down the road next weekend, then you should be more than good enough to pump us by a few goals. That said, you always beat our first team anyway, and these young lads will probably work harder to keep the score down.
  24. Excellent post mate! Sad times for genuine Edinburgh City fans but as you say there's just not enough of us to sustain League one football. Hopefully we can pull through this and survive and then settle at a comfortable level, for us might only be League 2 or lower. Whatever league we do end up, we absolutely MUST either get away from Meadowbank to have ANY future, or sort something better there. The old board had grand plans to build another stand and terracing on the opposite side which definitely would have helped. However these would still be years away due to the new houses needing to be built first. I said at the time, the directors then were in far too much of a hurry, to rush us back to the old Meadowbank site before construction of the leisure centre was even finished, and Should have waited another year or two until we had a decent venue ready and in place. I've no idea what the future holds so I'm just now praying we can survive and hopefully retain our league place for the people that worked hard to get us into League Two in the first place
  25. I'm really surprised, and also concerned, about the betting odds for this game tomorrow vs Stirling For those that know these things, City have drifted out from 6/4 to 11/2 which seems very odd. Stirling in from 6/4 to 1/2. Makes me wonder what the bookies know about the starting team City will be able to field tomorrow?
