  1. Because it's the councils facility that they built, for athletics. The only blame I'd give the old board here is they were too desperate to get "home" to Meadowbank. Even although that new sports centre there is Not home as we remembered it!
  2. I too hope the name gets changed back to Edinburgh city, although it never really bothered me that much what the team name was. For me a FAR bigger problem was moving back to Meadowbank, with the state of that place for spectators! Actually was back at Ainslie Park for the first time in over a year, last month for the Albion rovers play-off game. I'd forgotten how much better it was at AP than Meadowbank is. I know it's Edinburgh Council's fault for building Meadowbank, in it's current state and our club can take No blame for that. However I'm not sure what we can do to make it any better! And it NEEDS, to be made better or the club will never grow it's fanbase.
  3. Same here, but in reverse! I Very much hope Annan do the business and see off Clyde! I'd love to see Annan come up to League one, as you say a good away day, plus they deserve it. Whereas EVERYTHING about playing Clyde FC is grim... Hopefully, at least 3-0 Annan tonight!
  4. I really hope you absolutely hammer Clyde as well! Good guys against, well, them! Seriously you deserve to go up after coming so close last year! Best of luck!
  5. Was like two bald men fighting over a comb! Both looked poor teams. As you say, once Spartans kept the ball down on the grass they looked the better footballing team. However, I don't know if they've any other strikers, but they were poor yesterday up front, often trying to walk the ball in to the goal instead of shooting on sight. I just feel overall, Albion will have too much next week, as they've been pretty good at home recently.
  6. That's for your average, run of the mill league game though Possil. I think next Saturday, with all the neutrals there, you're looking at a 2000 crowd probably
  7. Have a red card for living up to your name and being a tit. Nobody need worry about Rovers dropping out the league. Home form will see a comfortable win next Saturday. The Spartans have nothing up front to trouble Albion and don't look quite good enough to win.
  8. Alloa 0-4 Dunfermline Athletic Clyde 1-0 Montrose Edinburgh 0-0 Airdrieonians Peterhead 0-0 Falkirk Queen of the South 3-0 Kelty Hearts
  9. The Airdrie section is sold out for tomorrow AND see on twitter you're asking for more tickets, so probably be a lot more Airdrie fans than home fans there.
  10. Fair play to any Edinburgh fan actually going to this meaningless fixture tomorrow! I'm certainly not bothering!
  11. Airdrieonians 3-1 Queen of the South Dunfermline 3-1 Clyde Kelty Hearts 0-1 Peterhead Montrose 3-1 Alloa Athletic
  12. Airdrie 1-0 Dunfermline Alloa 1-0 Falkirk Edinburgh 2-0 Kelty Hearts Peterhead 2-0 Clyde QotS 2-0 Montrose
  13. Aye, sorry mate. I just remember after yous hitting 6 and 7 against the bottom teams that yous only managed to beat Alloa 1-0. Every chance you win the play-offs.
  14. The first game was the same day as an "old firm game" so travelling west best avoided, second game was on 2nd January so no trains and people on holiday. Anyway, doesn't matter. We never have had much support, and the move to Meadowbank has been a disaster! Even the core support we did have over the last few years don't go anymore! We need to move again away from Meadowbank but truth is with Hibs and Hearts in the city there's no appetite for a third team. As for this game, congrats to Peterhead on your win! Hopefully you earn a few more before the end of the season and keep yourself up in League one!
  15. Edited for the Airdrie boys! Queen of the South might win the Play-offs? They are coming into form at exactly the right time and have the momentum! Airdrie have big chances also, but after battering the bottom three teams for 6, 7 and 5, goals dried up a bit only managing to beat Alloa 1-0, in their next game which was poor for such a magnificent team!!! Alloa are poor, and Falkirk probably not quite good enough,(in my opinion, which counts for fuk all, especially in my hoose!.) Hamilton or Arbroath will be decent, but either of Queens or Airdrie for me, will be the form team at the right time.
  16. Clyde 0 vs 1 Edinburgh Dunfermline 1 vs 1 Queen of the South Falkirk 1 vs 1 Airdrieonians Kelty Hearts 0 vs 1 Alloa Athletic Montrose 1 vs 0 Peterhead
  17. Airdrieonians 2-0 Montrose Alloa Athletic 0-1 Queen of the South Falkirk 0-1 Dunfermline Athletic Kelty Hearts 1-0 Clyde Peterhead 1-1 Edinburgh
  18. Alloa 1-2 Airdrie Clyde 1-2 Falkirk Dunfermline 2-0 Kelty Edinburgh 1-0 Montrose Queen of the South 5-0 Peterhead
  19. My neutral view of this game, on CURRENT FORM, is that Airdrie will outscore Alloa, something like 3-1. I'd prefer a draw myself, but think Alloa are not that good, and see Airdrie being too strong on this occasion.
  20. I'll have a go at this, not that I'm often right (well, according to my wife anyway!). Obviously, Dunfermline have won the league. I'll then go for Falkirk vs Airdrie semi final as 2nd vs 3rd. I also then remain hopeful my Edinburgh side regain some form to sneak the 4th spot. Probably we'd play Hamilton Accies in the other semi final. If Airdrie keep their good form going, I see them beating Falkirk and likely playing Hamilton in the final. That's a 50/50 game for me. At the bottom, hopefully Peterhead find a couple of wins and relegate Clyde. Still, couldn't see Peterhead (or Clyde) coming through a play-off with the League 2 contenders.
  21. Clyde 1-4 Airdrieonians Edinburgh 0-2 Queen of the South Falkirk 6-0 Kelty Hearts Peterhead 0-3 Alloa Athletic Montrose 0-1 Dunfermline
  22. Aye, told you all last June we'd do well, but got laughed at by some Falkirk boy and all his mates. Oh well, I'm pleased we've had a decent season.
  23. Airdrieonians 5-0 Peterhead Alloa Athletic 3-0 Clyde Dunfermline 3-1 Edinburgh Kelty Hearts 1-2 Montrose Queen of South 2-2 Falkirk
  24. Congratulations on your win Alloa! Your team were up for it and clearly wanted to win the game more! Looking like a good battle now for the play-off places with todays wins for Alloa and Airdrie.
