  1. Unfortunately idiots from other sports keep calling him out. Why would he not do it? Easy money for not very difficult fights. Laughing all the way to the bank. Eventually he will get beat as age catches up with him. Funny how these UFC fighters and kick boxers etc are always calling out Floyd, and never people current in boxing like, cannello, lomochenko or GGG.
  2. Like their vote collapsed after the 2014 referendum loss?
  3. This tournament sounds utter garbage. Unfortunately the plastics all over the world will lap it up and it will be a huge money spinner and therefore deemed a huge success. Another nail in the coffin for proper competitive domestic football.
  4. What was the capacity of Easter Road in those days? That terrace was indeed huge!
  5. i didnt realise the corner stand and the one next to it were as old as that! Definately one of scotlands quirkiest stadia. More so back in the day. I remember going as a kid in the mid 90s and there being a small terraced stand to the right of the stands in the shot above next to the shed. Any photos of that?
  6. My stepdad was at that game. He was talking to me recently about it. He said it was in the run up to Celtic playing in the European cup final but despite this Celtic fielded a full strength team. Changed days.
  7. The first fight was 5-6 years too late. This rematch holds no real interest. Both are way past their sell by date.
  8. i thought canello won it in the first half of the fight. I had him a couple up after 6 or 7. GGG left it too late . His corner were telling him he was losing after about round 8.
  9. Regardless of what format we all think is best, can we please get calling the division below the top flight the "Championship" into the sea.
  10. I have said it many times before, if relatively low key sports like diving and ski jumping can have 8,9 10 judges, why can't boxing? Do as they do and discount rouge cards at either end. I can't remember the last time I watched a fight with reasonable scoring!
  11. A shame because again we are talking about scorecards instead of a good close fight. I thought Taylor dug in well in the championship rounds.
  12. Choose fight but Taylor ot a homer on the scorecards there! I thought he was maybe 2 or 3 behind after 6 .
  13. I had no idea this game took place. When was it? LOVE this thread!
  14. Fair enough, never crossed my mind as a way to get to the football. In saying that I once went to a match in Beijing and the vast majority of the 30,000 ish crowd arrived on "boris bikes" . The shared ones. The streets were filled with mountains of discarded yellow bikes at kick off time! Hell of a walk from the train station to Kingswells. Not convinced walking is feasible, so car, bus or bike it will have to be!
  15. Remember when the last referendum started, the first year or so of the debate was about what the question should be, a straight yes no, or a series of different constitutional options. SNP expected to go for full Indy, tories anti everything and labour and lib dems were expected to back " devo plus" or "devo max "etc. It came as a bit of a shock when they fully backed what was essentially a Tory position. I think if deco max had been an option it would have won handsomely and is what I would have voted for. A gradual teasing apart of the ties of union would probably be more palatable to a lot of people than a big upheaval. From that point of view I came to the conclusion that if I believed some extra powers to Scotland would be benificial, then surely 100% of powers would be even better, certainly than no change at all. Next time it will be an even starker choice, we are starting to see the Tory power grab of Holyrood powers. We are starting to enter the constitutional end game where there will only be 2 choices, full independence, or the closure of the Scottish parliament and Scotland fully demoted to a region of "one nation" GB . I can't see any other alternatives long term.
  16. You might be on to something! There are already cycle lanes between Kingswells and Westhills. Maybe a huge multi story bike park like they have in Amsterdam might solve the transport problems!
  17. Exactly why I think it is a terrible idea, open invitation to II bike thieves. Wait until later the match starts then you have a leisurely 90mins and more to help yourself. Plus a lot of grounds , including tyncastle, involve walking down narrow streets full of people on match day, so again, not ideal on a bike. Plus going to the match often involves a few refreshments , which inhibits balance which is kind of an important part of cycling! It'll never catch on!
  18. I quite like this but it does raise the question: Had anyone ever in the history of Scottish football ever cycled to a match? Seems a bit wierd to me, and I like cycling!
  19. I suppose not . The real problem here isn't Hamden, it is the lack of any stadium in Scotland with a capacity of 30,000.
  20. I think we should keep Hampden for big internationals and cup finals but bin it for Scottish cup Semis unless both clubs want it there. Especially if the authorities insist on 12.15 kick offs for TV. A rush for tickets and 20,000 inside Tynecastle where generally those with the highest loyalty points will get tickets will be a far better match to attend than 30,000 inside Hampden with a load of day trippers.
  21. The 3 lions aren't even lions, they are leopards. https://www.historyextra.com/period/medieval/when-did-the-leopards-on-the-royal-arms-of-england-become-the-lions-depicted-today/
  22. Exactly this. Its like someone offering you money to sleep with your wife/ girlfriend. Most of us have an amount of money that if offered we couldn't turn down and wiuld be lifechanging and secure financial stability in the future etc. That amount of money offered doesn't change the fact that it is a grubby, immoral and thoroughly unpleasant thing to propose.
  23. Central belt teams, usually the ugly sisters, complaining about the long journey to play ICT or Ross county. Its 4hrs FFS! No mention of the fact these teams have to do the same journey every fortnight or so, often at far more inconvenient times and seasonal weather conditions. Usually followed not long after, without a hint of irony, with stories linking Celtic and Rangers to a move to the EPL or some Atlantic League.
  24. One of the big arguments against redeveloping pittodrie has always been the lack of space behind the main stand to expand . Why does it need expanding. Why can they not build a more modern stand of the same dimensions or refurbish the existing stand? It might mean a reduce don't capacity , but build the south or Merkland Road sides bigger than they are currently. I don't get it!
