  1. One of the buses that our school used had been rented for a stag do the weekend before and a porno dvd had been left in the player for the wee TV at the front. While it was picking up all the pupils for the day the driver turned on the TV and it played for the entire way to the school. I wasn't on the bus but apparently a couple of folk tried to tell the guy but he kept shouting to sit down before they could get near the front of the bus.

Seem to remember a week or so of teachers coming into class to ask students what had happened and if people had actually seen it. Of course they denied seeing/watching it to teachers but told the rest of us all about it afterwards.

  2. Really enjoyed this Olympics for the most part despite the strangeness of having no crowds.

Eliud Kipchoge is very special. To be winning the marathon with such ease at 37 is nothing short of remarkable.

  3. As glad as I am that we managed to salvage a point, that was absolutely dire and the bit of fight we showed towards the end doesn't change that.

If I were an Arbroath fan I would be furious, the tactics and substitutions allowed us to come into the game 2nd half when we had looked awful all over until that point.

Enjoyed being back in Somerset very much.

  4. There have been huge improvements in the cycling from quite a few nations, most notably the Dutch and Danish team (who nicked one of Team GB's coaches not too long ago). If I remember correctly, something like 7 teams beat the previously set Olympic Record in the Men's Team Pursuit this time around. For a while GB had the most advanced track cycling programme but it seems the gap has been closed by quite a few teams. That said, as has previously been mentioned, the British team have actually preformed quite well so far and have a chance to win a few more. They have also been very unlucky in a couple of cases, like with Kate Marchant's crash.

  5. Getting incredibly sick of seeing "highlights" of events that only focus on the British Athlete's performance even in cases where they have won the bronze or not made the podium at all. It may be because their is less coverage overall compared with previous Olympics, but it is very tedious.

Also, show jumping is fucking pish. How it's an Olympic sport is beyond me.

Not even close to being beaten by a bunch of ayrshire junior jobbers, but we had a midweek game v Airdrie under Reid in 2010

Had we won we would have pretty much relegated them and we had just beaten Thistle at Firhill. Airdrie had a silly amount of games to play, thanks to the big freeze that year. A wee quick check back and they played 15 games between the  6th March an the 1st of May. This was the 12th game of that punishing schedule.

Jesus it was as brutal a second haf as I've seen. It was 0-0 at half time

John Baird lubed us up, bent us over and destroyed us. After that he did it again and again.

Words can't describe how bad a night it was.

3 days later Inverness stuck seven past us and ultimately we went down with a whimper

Aye the whole end to that season was abysmal. Think we lost 8 of our last 9 games having actually hit some good form at the turn of the year. Pretty sure 5 of the last 7 games (or something like that) were at home and we lost all of them, the Airdrie and Inverness games being especially pathetic. Relegated at Cappielow after missing a few sitters that may have kept us up, depressing.

Hate to break this to you but McGinty is a shoe in for a start, he's got the captains armband for one which shows how much Hopkin trusts him. FWIW I don't think Baird or McGinty really did too much wrong last night, they were under constant pressure as well so it inevitable that they would eventually let something through like any other defender in the league.

We haven't seen any of the clangers we expected from McGinty thus far, from what we've seen of him at other clubs. Obviously the real tests are only just beginning now the league has kicked off but, long may it continue.

He certainly had his moments last night, just none of them ended in a goal or a red card.

It is not a racist song.

How many of your/our fans have different coloured skins.

In Ayrshire, referring to someone as 'black' means more about being unclean. unwashed or of dubious morality... nothing to do with skin colour at all.

Yes, I know all of this. Doesn't make it okay to use that term. Just because you don't intend to be racist doesn't make something not racist.

I only watched the first half as was away to play 7s but is the irish lad you refer to Afolabi? If so, I liked him in his brief spell at us and I think he was pretty liked at Dundee last season so he should do well at Somerset.

If it's not him then I'm chatting total wham.

Nah he's talking about Daire O'Connor. Afolabi did come on though he he didn't do anything of note really, no one did.

And good evening to you too, although you do have a point. Just. I'd prefer we binned it because of those c***s, then again I'd have preferred it if the c**t fucking lawyer b*****d fae Troon had cemented their death rather than embarrassing my club fae abstaining when we had a chance to kill the cheating b*****ds once and for all.

Then again all your plastic support that turn up for the big games rather than every week and are happy to watch those same zombie b*****ds on the TV wouldn't have something to hang on their wall.

For what it's worth I do find it strange that our supports seem to throw the same 'big team' patter around at each other. One of the few things I can respect about killie fans is the mutual rejection of supporting the old firm, especially as most of us have grown up in Ayrhsire. Its what makes the hello hello thing even weirder to me.
