It might all go pear shaped, but at least there'll be the consolation of knowing as we go down that the manager is feeling the pain every bit as much as the fans, which is more than can be said for most of the fly-by-night chancers that circulate in the Scottish game. For the avoidance of doubt, that last sentence is intended to be 100% serious. And on the flip side, just imagine the delirium if - against all the odds - we somehow win an actual cup at some point. (I was going to say "European tie" rather than "cup" there, but that would be a step too far.)

I can't get my head round this "return of Robinson" pish. There can't have been many people who weren't happy to see him go not that long ago. (Not that there wasn't gratitude for the better times, and I liked guy well enough, but it ended how it always ends.) The only skill he's demonstrated since then is signing up people he already knows, and the people he already knows are all a few years older and slower now than when we punted them. I just don't get it.

It's good to have some proof at last that - despite the evidence of his post-match interviews and his persistent adherence to tactics that aren't working - Alexander isn't actually blind and deaf.

I get what people are saying about how binning Alexander might be too little too late, and it might not make any difference, but even if that's true there would still be one massive benefit - it would make ME feel better, tonight at least.. Revenge, like pakora, is a dish best served hot.
