  1. I've had the very same conversation on too many occasions to recall. All to no avail, of course.
  2. 8 different times on the mobile phone. As you say, absolute lunatic behavior.
  3. My wife sets approximately 8 alarms each morning, the first of which goes off a full hour before she needs to get up. She falls asleep after each one and still has to rush to get out the door. They are even set for when she's in the shower. Mental!
  4. People who say "self-depreciating humour" instead of "self-deprecating humour".
  5. Victoria Beckham spends a considerable sum of money to look the way she does in an attempt to gain a part as a Doctor Who monster.
  6. That would be class tbh You could just throw that on the carpet and pretended you'd thrown it up whilst blootered. Cut out the middle man.
  7. I think there's been more endeavor under Duffy. Under him we look like we want to win, but a dodgy defence has let us down. Some of the performances under Aitken were abysmal, with the team looking utterly disinterested. The first home game this season was the worst I've seen them - the team looked like they'd been on the bevvy till 3am the night before. That hasn't happened under Duffy so I reckon there's been improvements there.
  8. Brian Jonestown Massacre on YouTube. 93 videos. There's not many bands can do that. Lovely laid back beauty, before hitting us with Golden Flock. Only the great can do that.
  9. You know, for such a fan of both bands I've never seen Dig. I know that Anton Newcombe has had his issues over the years but it's never stopped him producing excellent music. I've always loved the way BJM have looked over the years, very Laurel canion and very west coast.
  10. Pish is very good!! Anemone is gloriously laid back.
  11. Hope you like them. Any music suggestions from you I'll happily look into. Good BJM songs to start with are "Wisdom", "Golden Flock" and "Fingertips". Enjoy!
  12. It is a very good pop song, and they have a number of good catchy pop songs, the best of which is probably, " Not if you were the last junkie on earth". However, they tend to play more laid back stuff live and are utterly hypnotic, especially songs like "Godless". That takes them into Brian Jonestown Massacre territory who are a gorgeous combination of psychedelic pop/ velvet underground/ 60s British pop. I've still to hear a bad song from them. Check them out on YouTube. There's a file under Brian Jonestown Massacre 93 files. Watch/listen and be mesmerised.
  13. What? No mention of Dandy Warhols or Brian Jonestown Massacre??
  14. I tried to reason with you on another thread but there's clearly no point.
  15. I love The Delgados, went to see Arab Strap at the barrowlands in 2016 got a beer and turned round to see Emma, Stewart and Paul strolling towards me, almost went full on fan boy but managed to keep it together Only time that happened to me was when I spoke to Kim Deal outside a Breeders gig in London. I couldn't help myself but ask a ridiculous question: " has the new album been mixed?". It still makes me cringe to this day. You know the way it is, though: like attempting a conversation with your school crush - cue utter bollocks.
  16. Chriiiissst! I get shit from the dumbarton forum for mentioning music, and one post on here for insinuating that posters who refer to Rangers as Sevco are childish and it's ME who gets accused of a lack of intelligence!!! Go on, tell me I'm a unionist and brexit supporter next. By the way, The Dandy Warhols were excellent the other week. And the Brian Jonestown Massacre are sensational. Make me feel at home by slating me for these comments, like what I get on Sons Sorrow. By the way, my English team is Man City and my friend's (Raith Rovers fan) is Kidderminster Harriers.
  17. And there's the hope - an improved defence could turn the draws we've been getting into victories. If Don Thomas is in the mood then more 20 yard and free kick goals could come our way also. But then there's the goalkeeper issue...
  18. That suggestion frightens me more than going bottom. Where are 6 wins coming from? I'd even struggle to be optimistic about 6 draws, given our defence. We will need to rely on another team having a very bad run, however that's more likely to be us the way things are going. To think we were joint favourites with Arbroath to win the league too.
  19. Cheers! Great to have a long term memory clarified. I don't look at Facebook but I'll get the app for my phone and check out the Boagheid stuff.
  20. Indeed, I don't know why the council don't build a 3 foot wall along the quayside to replace the metal railings that don't prevent the movement of water.
  21. I agree with that. I might not be correct but I read, with regard to the High Street in Dumbarton which is also built back from the river, that this was a deliberate design due to the strong and cold winds blowing in from the water. Building back from the edge meant buildings on both sides of the road, hence protection from the elements. It was protection from flooding also. That was dumbarton's case but I'll happily stand corrected if Fort William was designed for a different reason. Irrespective, it still resulted in what could be beautiful waterfronts looking grim.
  22. One of the great things about local football and small crowds is that these types of characters get heard and are recognised. That's totally lost in larger scale football. I know some can be irritated by the likes of old Fraser (c'mon now Sons) but I enjoy listening to these guys, even the youngsters with the drum. Whatever happened to the guy that used to shout, " c'mon the dumbarteeeeeooooon"?
