  1. That Scottishjuniorfitba guy has got a few problems. Was he bullied at school? He doesn't paint a very good image of junior football. No wonder clubs want to leave when they get that kind of abuse.
  2. So Rangers Colts visit my local team Solihull Moors. I would have gone of they had a proper team to play but I don't go to games in the EFL trophy while there are still U21 sides in it. So the same applies to this one. Hopefully Solihull will win and we get to play an adult team next round.
  3. Why not? The English FA do this all the time. Next year they have decided to dissolve the West Midlands Regional League at level 10 founded in 1889 and re-distribute the 49 clubs around other leagues in the pyramid whether the league or the clubs like it or not.
  4. My local side, Solihull Moors, due to visit Kelty soon. I would have been there but I'm not in the country that weekend. They won't have a big travelling support. Being the new kids on the block in the West Midlands, they suffer from fans in the area already established as Villa, B'ham, WBA, Coventry, Wolves & Walsall supporters. Should be a good game.
  5. Evolution not revolution. Next important step is to get the West involved which would necessarily require at least one extra promotion/relegation slot. I'm not really getting the turkeys voting for Christmas scenario. For example, despite the SFAs best efforts, the Bonnyrig/Whitehill handling by the EOS and LL and also both clubs was done in a very professional way. The LL need not have extended the cutoff date to accept Bonnyrig and just said we are sticking with Whitehill. Well done to all concerned.
  6. Walsall fan in peace here. Nicky is definitely not a non nonsense defender. He was much better going forward and could put in a reasonable cross but not often enough. You can't fault him for effort but he just wasn't good enough for League One. Between his and Luke Leahy's(ex-Falkirk) defensive performances you could see why we got relegated. I wish him well and I will watching Livingston's results and his performances with interest.
  7. Sad day. I hope they can regain their place in the SPFL. It's going to be tough though.
  8. Congratulations to all of the clubs getting licensed today. For those that were rejected for no lights, surely they must have a case for derogation as long as they have a plan in place to comply. If not in law, they must be due a refund because the rules changed after they made their application. I hope this gets sorted in favour of the clubs who have lost out especially Bonnyrigg.
  9. Nah you know you were caught out. I'm happy with that lol Hmmmmmmmmm
  10. We always enjoy our trips there. Contrary to their reputation, they are very friendly and you can have a good bevvy with them. I think the nutters only come out for the games against the bigger clubs.
  11. Far from being subsidised, they had to subsidise visiting teams IIRC. They also had to play all cup games on the mainland to begin with. I believe that once they the Isthmian league level that no longer applied. A good community club. They have stuck to their ethos of only picking players from Guernsey.
  12. They had crossover at the point of starting the pyramid in England. That was equally ridiculous. This season's reorganisation has put pay to that to that ludicrous situation. i don't see the necessity to have two leagues at that level in the east of Scotland. If this is the solution the PWG have come up with it beggars belief. Or does it .... football administrators at national level don't always seem to be the sharpest tools in the box otherwise why would we have U21/colt teams in Irn-Bru Cup/EFL Trophy when patently no supporters want to watch these games.
  13. That's brilliant news. That should revitalise the whole pyramid project.
  14. Walsall v Ajax today 2-0 to the Saddlers. Who' would have thought that?
  15. Who knows what will happen over the next few decades? When I started watching football who could have guessed HFL sides ICT & Ross Co. would play in the top flight of the Scottish game> Or in England NPL Wigan Ath. would play in the top flight and win the FA cup. Who would have thought Bournemouth, Barnsley, Swansea and Burnley, or Hull all perennial strugglers in the FL would play top flight. On the downside who would have thought Torquay or Stockport would have ended up tier 6 regional football.
  16. I feel bad about Fauldhouse. After winning promotion to something that's no longer there.I pray that they get a late application in.
  17. Apparently, they have now withdrawn as the prospect of playing Elgin on a Tuesday in January has proved a step too far.
  18. I suppose the 2 teams in the Scilly Islands League may be interested if Truro are going it. Mind you they might miss their big local derbies and guaranteed entry to the cup final every year.
  19. Ultimately, the boundary between the HL/LL should not necessarily be fixed as tightly as it currently seems to be. It should be able to move to accommodate the spread of the clubs at that level. Back in the days of Div 3 North and South teams like Grimsby Town and my club Walsall were always moving between the two for this reason. There are always going to be clubs near any putative line.
  20. The superdooper league sounds pretty much what the WofSL should be. If Linlithgow and Boness feel that they should be part of that so be it. Why the SJFA needs to be involved I have no idea. Once part of a pyramid surely the term junior becomes irrelevant and perhaps even divisive.
  21. Nice to see Tutankhamen up and about again. He didn't look so great when my great-great uncle discovered him in 1922.
