Extremely disappointing outcome to what is at the moment a minor issue in Scottish football (although clearly important to a few people).

How is it only a minor issue? It's a major issue. B-teams devalue the leagues they are in, there will be more attempts to get them in other leagues, which would ruin Scottish lower league football. Just like B-teams ruined lower league football in The Netherlands.

It's vital to stop these joke teams and show they are not welcome.

Do you know if there is a realistic timeframe as to when the two matches v Broughty will at least be announced to be played?

Shouldn't be too long. Our home game was originally planned for the weekend when we had the major floods around here in October, I'd expect it should be announced pretty soon.

I’m still unsure on the take as to how Barrowman and his wife, both domiciled in the Isle of Man - presumably for tax reasons - having won such a profitable HMG contract and then won’t pay UK tax, are still so fêted in this country.

Hound the c***s to f**k I’m sure Venezuela is lovely. Let them stay there.

They claimed they moved to the IoM because it's quiet and they like that apparently, nothing to do with tax reasons. 🤡

Sure, because there are no remote, quiet, places anywhere in Scotland (or England/Wales if they don't want to be in Scotland)...

Are broughty looking for promotion?  I'm assuming they aren't licensed, so are they just pumping money into wages rather than looking at infrastructure?

Quite a bit needs to be done to their ground to get licensed. I'm not aware of any current plans to get it up to licensing standards. So as far as I know, they are not aiming for promotion at this point.

Which is a bit annoying for us as if they do win the league, I'd like them to get promoted so it could give us a better chance next season!

How are Broughty able to keep this run up?  Seems mental to me that Lochee can be unbeaten after 19 games with 93 goals scored, a goal difference of +81, and are somehow only second in the league.

That's football, it's tight and as there are some big differences between the better and weaker sides in the league there aren't that many games in which top sides are likely to drop points.

We looked very good yesterday though, getting some more experience in is now benefiting us. Still all to play for, we are still playing Broughty twice. Broughty have a few tough games coming up. Time will tell!

  6. If anyone is looking for a cheaper place to stay, I'd recommend looking at Utrecht. A fair bit cheaper than Amsterdam, plenty to do in the city, nice pubs / restaurants and only just over 15 minutes by train to the stadium from Utrecht central station.

Edit: just to add, if you don't mind making your way to a relatively small town that might not have that much to do but has enough affordable hotels and direct train connections to the stadium, the following towns are also worth looking at: Breukelen, Woerden & Hoofddorp.

Edit 2: I asked a mate who lives close to these towns. He said Woerden is the best of those 3: Best Western hotel next to the station & decent pubs so no need to go elsewhere for drinks if you don't want to.

Delighted that your team made it through. Hopefully this farcical scenario will not be allowed to happen in future.

Thanks, it's piss poor fixture planning from UEFA first and foremost. If they would just have swapped match days 4 and 6 for example, so we were playing Scotland at Hampden last night instead, we'd never have had that discussion in the first place.

Belgium lying down to the Netherlands would be like us lying down to Eng... oh

With the difference that at the Olympics, we can't call up Belgian players. Wiegman (assuming she'll manage the team), can then call up Scottish players. Not saying that meant Scotland were corrupt (as said, I'm not judging that), but that argument various people used against some of the Scottish players won't work with the Belgians.

  9. England fans are crying on Twitter that Belgium letting in 2 goals in stoppage time was a fix. :D

Even when ignoring the discussion on whether or not Scotland did this deliberately last night (I'm not getting involved in that discussion btw as I was watching the Dutch match), if there is one country that would NOT want to co-operate with us knocking Team GB out, it would be Belgium. They were time wasting at 2-0 down, cleared balls from the goal line, got close to pulling a goal back in stoppage time and so on. I'll file this under "sour grapes" from the England fans.

Why did Belgium substitute their keeper in 90+3 mins?  Thankfully they seemed to put Lee Van Gibson in goals and she couldnt get to the header

Their first choice goalie got injured after our 3rd goal.

I hope that we get some video of the last couple of minutes in Tilburg.  Honestly fuming at that Scotland performance (well perhaps more so the selection of defenders and goalie)  Hopefully some of those players have played their last games for Scotland.......subs did well though

Just a complete run on goal, we had chance after chance but didn't score. Straight after the 3-0, they picked the ball up and kept pushing again. The news of the 0-6 came through quickly, resulting in an all-out assault on the Belgian goal and the decider went in.

4 points dropped by Lochee United in the last 2 games, are there some injuries ?

A bit of a late response, yes, we had some injuries. But in all honesty, we should still have done better. Credit to Roselea & Violet for how they defended too, but with the players we had, if we play to our standards we should be able to beat both.

Hopefully the comeback & penalty win at Largs will get some confidence back. Still a long way to go, 9 points behind but also 2 games in hand and still playing Broughty twice so anything can happen. This Saturday is going to be interesting with us at home to FWE & Broughty away at Carnoustie.
