  1. Scott Rough, the Beith CH, was a standout tonight and far superior to Neil.
  2. Took in tonight's game as a neutral and 1st half Beith were at it from the off with Monti being a different gravy. 2nd half Talbot turned it on without really having a cutting edge, very 1 dimensional & predictable. Say what you like about Strain but he is a very very good manager and has that side well drilled with every player understanding their role in the team. They maybe lack depth with a young bench but fair play to him. The big CH was on a different level at the back and strolled it. Disappointing to hear Talbot fans and officials abuse towards the ref at FT. Can't they just accept defeat without abusing officials and the guy roaring up the tunnel as Beith celebrated "use haven't even got a license" took the bait hook line and sinker as they cranked the tunes up in the away dressing room. Big overhaul required at Beechwood I presume with Tucker looking subdued on the touchline throughout the 90. Your GK hasn't half piled on the timber, must be they cracking burgers from the pie hut!
  3. HT at Beechwood, 2 0 Beith. Beith well drilled and worth their lead but Talbot growing into the game before HT. Big Leishman in the home goal hasn't half piled on the pounds!
  4. An example of some clubs having limited resources hence a knock on effect of the on field quality.
  5. For example Campbeltown Pupils are an amateur side basically consisting of teenagers/very young guys & have a tiny catchment for chosing players from unlike clubs more centrally who have their pick of players.
  6. Good to see my local side Cambuslang get a win but maybe too little too late. Unforunately they've had rotten luck with injuries & behind the scene issues this season with very little in the way of a commitee & next to no funds. Dropping a league will maybe be a blessing in disguise for Billy & Paul who know how to put a squad together at that level to compete.
  7. I thought McGinty would have made Cumnock better than they are but unfortunately league positions don't lie and they're an average side. Given the resources available they're definately underachieving when you compare the likes of Largs who are flying.
  8. Menzies looks a far better option at the back than Brownlie. Everytime I've seen the latter play he's been poor/bang average at best. Can't say I've seen enough of Rumsby. The lad Greenwood at Cambuslang for example would do a better job for a fraction of the wages I'd imagine.
  9. Looks to be carrying some extra timber too this season. How's the new lad Gow getting on? He fit yet?
  10. Brownlie seems vastly over rated is he not?
  11. Pollok have absolutely imploded under Maxy, their demise is astonishing. Everyone needs a chance but I doubt very much the grace period will last much longer with the Lok faithful.
  12. Whats the verdict on the new management team at this early stage? Seems to have settled things down and looks promising?
  13. From the outside in is it a case that Darvel sign "big" names from leagues 1 and 2 who arrive thinking it will be a canter when the truth is their opponents outwork them through application and attitude? It's no secret Kennedy gets players in by offering them various business ventures in conjunction with signing up to play. Beith have a small squad with limited resources but are a very well drilled side this season and as much as Strain is a rocket he is doing some job. Talbot are Talbot and know what's required, go about their business quietly without a fuss so won't be far away.
  14. Andy Wilson Cambuslang GK off to Darvel next season apparently. A very very good GK who's only 20 odd year old.
  15. Was at the Cambuslang game. Poor game of not much quality. Meadow offered very little but the penalty miss turned the game for them. Cambuslang struggling to fill a squad but played some good stuff in first 45min. Meada just a physical side with very little quality.
  16. Heard today the current Cambuslang goalie is signing for Darvel next season. Unsure about the manager but they are definately in a bad way at the moment.
  17. New goalie headed your way next season apparently? Might be a new manager aswell!
  18. I'm thinking either Pollok and few pints beforehand after a manic week or Cambuslang. Quality then definately Pollok, hardiness for travel Camby!
  19. Polloks troubles with the new manager' transition continues. He seems to have ripped up Murdies system and starting from scratch. Hopefully the Newlandsfield faithful give Maxi time to get it right which I'm sure he will as his record at KRR was impressive.
  20. Who is, Strain? He has Beith absolutely flying so it's game on this weekend.
  21. Exactly mate? Main reason looks like to weaken main rivals Talbot. Can see Glasgow back there next season at this rate.
