Two weeks yet before the season starts, we do need some bodies before then
With a bit of ability, preferably.
The performance yesterday was the worst in many a year. Bloody awful.

That's a smashing result up there! Fair play to the team!
Dont want to diminish your enthusiasm, but I doubt you'll play anyone worse than us all season.
But well done today. Deserved win.

Shocking display. Shocking result. Shocking state of affairs that 2 weeks from the start of the league season PD had 2 substitutes.
One of them a goalkeeper.
Lose to The Binos next week and McInally should be looking for a job.
For a normally well run club, this is pathetic.

Disastrous result , albeit against good opposition.
Biggest worry is the fact we had one substitute.
Poor show with the league season so close.

Newman was superb, what a find that is. Thought Jack Brown put himself about very well just a shame he gave away the pen. Another strong HL recruit from McInally.
Hamish Ritchie I think is a class act. Why we didn't see the talent and let him slip through the net is bewildering. He would be a solid addition to our team, a starter for me.
Broken leg would be horrific for him, a lengthy outage obviously and ridiculously bad luck for Peterhead just when they don't need it after a huge exodus. Him and McCarthy were going to be the driving force in midfield.
What you saw from Ola is exactly the type of player I expect you will see all season. Physical, can hold it up and will work hard. Does need a second striker alongside him which will happen I'm sure for league games.
Solid showing against Premiership opposition.
Aye. We were saying the same about Ola. Held the ball up well, but he needs the support to be there quick ish.
Big strong loon.

Finally we have a goalkeeper, will he be our No1. Hopefully settles in quickly
And very good he was too. 3 superb saves in the first half, and a couple in the 2nd half.
Dominates the area which is great.
Heard as I left the ground that Hamish has a broken leg. Hope that's not so.
Otherwise , pretty much as expected against a strong Aberdeen side.
Not disgraced.

That's 3 good signings for this League. Dixon, Strachan and Dow plenty experience,
Needed the experience after the departure of Brown and Ferry.
Happy with those 3.

Biggest loss this season could arguably be Si Ferry and Lyle. Maybe not giving too much on the park but there seemed to be a good group of guys from central belt who were very close and enjoyed the bus trips up. Now that’s gone it feels like it’s maybe took the soul out of the place a wee bit. Big rebuild required
Brown and Ferry will be missed most. Browns attitude is spot on. Ferry knows the game inside out and will be a big bonus to Broomhill.
We need a couple of experienced guys to replace them.
We've been lucky over the years with the Likes of Mann, Raeside, McSkimming, Roddie, Herd and quite a few others who have come along and helped keep us steady with their experience.
Need a couple of pros right now.

That's pretty poor from Fraser tbh.
It is, but if he wants to leave, then best he does so.
We move on.
Lots to do in such a short time.

Hopefully he's coming our way although I pessimistically don't really see it. Can't imagine him moving his young family to join Del at Killie or going to Dons rivals Dundee or Dundee United either after 18 years service. Saying that it's massive wage cut, albeit part time, to join his fellow ex-Dons Logan, Fyvie, Mitch, Reynolds at Balmoral.
Quite liked Brett Long at Peterhead and at East Fife before that so think that's a decent signing for the Sons. Certainly a significant upgrade from Sam.
Sonkur looks an absolute unit btw. Never seen him play.
Brett Long is a decent goalie. Disappointed to see him go.
Good luck to him.

Been announced as Simon Ferrys last home game, presume he will go into coaching/management he will be a miss on & off the park. Hopefully we can give him a win to remember
If the rumour is true then he's off into coaching/ management with a lowland league outfit.
Good luck to him. He's a good guy.

I think it sums us up today in the 2nd half. Kieran Wright was clearly struggling to kick into the wind, not one of our outfield players came to help him out, drop deep and take the ball. After about 6 kicks straight out the park, he rolls the next couple out and the defenders panic and lose possession anyway. Nobody wanting to take responsibility, all hiding, too much of that all season!
If he (Wright) was your 'keeper at the 5-0 game at Balmoor, then he is a slow learner.
He struggled badly into the wind at that game. Kept on launching it high and it kept coming back at him or going out.

Play off place looks to be between Sons, PD and Clyde.

Think I'll go back to working Saturday's. We are awful.
On another note, I hope the club puts in a complaint about that horrid "officiating". Not the first time this ref has had a shocker. Not the reason we lost.
Dont waste the paper.....(.it has to be in writing.)......as theres a never ending line of absolute dud referees.
To be fair to all of them, I dont think there's bias. They're simply crap.

D'ya think?
From our position .....granted 100 yards away behind the goals.......it didnt look a particularly hard hit and it came as a bit of a surprise when the 'keeper palmed it away.
But, it's hard to say from that distance at ground level .

My interest finished as soon as goal went in, shut lap top and am now sitting in beer garden with a pint, not letting that mob ruin my Saturdays anymore.
Peterhead fans know your pain......and have the same solution.
Poor stuff from your guys even allowing we 're fighting to stay up.

TBH I was expecting more from Falkirk, but over the 90 minutes they created very little and didnt look like a team fighting for a play off place.
And, thanks to an assistant referee with lead in his boots, shorts and socks it remained 1-0.

No. Jim and the board will know when the time is right for him to go. We have been unlucky in quite a few games this season and the team needs our support and less criticism, leave that to the Falkirk fans.
He's not Alex Ferguson or Arsene Wenger. They earned the right to stay as managers of their respective clubs because they won trophies on a regular basis.
J Mc has not.

Well that was daylight robbery. Told you earlier in the thread that we’ve been grim for weeks .. today was just a continuation of that form. From where I was sitting it looked like your keeper made an absolute arse of it for the goal … but to be frank I couldn’t figure out how the ball ended up in the net. As for the tall striker … nah it’s alright .. he’s reverted to the lazy shitebag that arrived at LP. Utterly useless.
Utterly useless hits the spot. Problem is, his replacement is 41 years old and no matter how good he was in his prime, his prime was 15 years ago.
But McLean will never have a 'prime's. Unless he's an Amazon member.....

Would love to know how many goals we’ve conceded from unforced errors similar to that one today. Seems we’ve got a ‘comedy’ goal in us every game. Combine that with us not having many ideas going forward and it doesn’t look great. At least we play good football tho!
Play all the football you like. If you dont score, you dont win and as someone pointed out earlier we have a propensity to give away stupid goals.
A recipe for losing if ever there was.
Dont want hard luck stories......one or two a season maybe acceptable, but not on an almost weekly basis.

We're in the same mess as we were this time last season. Stumbling along with the occasional win to keep us in this division ,but relegation never too far off.
It's all a bit tedious.

It is. But I had my contact lenses in
Maybe I'll watch it back and realise I'm wrong and it was heat of the moment. But at the time I felt the booking was extremely harsh and, in a large part, down to McDonald's reaction. Not that I have an issue with that given I'd fully expect our player to do the exact same.
Interesting to see the different views. Even allowing they're from opposing supporters, it simply shows how hard it can be as a referee when you get one glimpse of an incident and have to make that instant decision.

Didn't watch the game, were the red cards justified?
The first one was quick fire. He was booked at the edge of the box for a foul , then minutes later another bookable offence.
The second red was for jumping in 2 footed when there was no need really. Dont remember if he(McLean ) had been booked previously?
If it was a straight red then it may have been harsh, but the fact he was off his feet may have decided his fate.

Good to see our youth recruitment is working.
Jamie Redman will return for the game against Binos.
