  1. Paul Gascoigne’s got an FA Cup Winner’s Medal but it doesn’t mean turning up at Tuesday’s meeting to give Gordon Ronney some “Chicken and Lager” is going to lead to a successful resolution of the stand off.
  2. Berwick RFC are SRU members and play in the Scottish League system in East Region Division 1. They also have membership of the Northumberland RFU so they can compete in the Northumberland Cup / Plate competitions.
  3. Dissapointed the Ardnamurchan School Of Interpretive dance didn't get accepted Highland League for them I'm afraid. The Iona Abbey Ecumenical XI qualify for the WOS though.
  4. Not many. 3G at Millburn Academy and Inverness Royal Academy but nothing really like a proper football ground. Interesting that the Shinty folk are having some of the same problems at Bught as City did: https://www.inverness-courier.co.uk/sport/save-our-shinty-is-inverness-clubs-distress-call-who-want-bught-park-191554/ If anyone is serious about creating an additional semi-pro football facility in Inverness it seems to me the Torvean Gateway development of the old golf course is the best bet for securing a location. Would need a lot of money / work though. https://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/news/inverness/1649937/public-attend-exhibition-of-masterplan-for-inverness-torvean-gateway/
  5. 4 World Cup wins and they still usurp us by writing the most famous bagpipe tune. Greedy Germans.
  6. 8-10 clubs then. Announced: Thornton Hibs Kennoway Star Hearts Kirkcaldy & Dysart Rosyth Lochgelly Albert Rumoured: Lochore Welfare Newburgh Eyemouth United Possible: Luncarty Scone Thistle Will we see another West Lothian club joining the EOS this year though. That's the big question!
  7. You could have Premiership teams coming in at current R3 (November) and have everyone else enter in current R2 (October). That works for up to 116 licensed teams / unlicensed entrants (Looks like 105 licensed / 4-8 unlicensed for 2020-21) so you wouldn’t need to reintroduce Round 1 until you had another 3-7 licensed teams (11 if you exclude all unlicensed entrants).
  8. A suitable longer term option might be Premiership in at R4, Championship at R3, League 1/2 at R2. This would allow for 80 teams to enter R1 which would amply cover, HL, LL and current licensed teams (63 in total). Even after an influx of WOS teams getting licensed you wouldn’t need a huge preliminary round. That proposal may be a bit too far to move straight into this year so I’d expect something more like what Marten suggests.
  9. That's the whole point of the pyramid, yes. Otherwise you'll just be crying salt tears because there are no more worlds to conquer like Alexander the Great (or indeed Eric Bristow).
  10. Scone are well south of the line. There’s been speculation that Luncarty might be allowed some flexibility based on the village being split by the line itself. Possibly even a prisoner exchange with Tayport.
  11. I was speaking to someone involved with one of the bigger remaining West Lothian clubs. He told me the committee were unanimously of the view that the ERJFA was dying and agreed that a move to the EOS would eventually be required. However they also fancied their chances of winning the League next year and potentially even a cup run without some of the big west teams so they were content to hang on for a year or two to try and pick up some silverware before moving over to EOS.
  12. St Kentigern's would be in the French sector I agree. Much more exotic sounding than Mungo.
  13. It means the committee are feart and are staying ERJFA, where they’ll spend a year in a south league with just the Tribute Acts, Syngenta and Whitburn for company before ending up in EOS Tier 8 in 2021 with a manager who isn’t half as good as JC.
  14. Because if you want a hard border there are 2 options: Line of Latitude. This has some combination of Girvan, Craigmark, Maybole moving to SOS or alternatively Uppers, Nithsdale moving to WOS. Local Authority Boundary. This has Kello moving to SOS. Or you have a flexible boundary respecting geographic integrity but not exactly specified. This draws boundary between Kello / Nithsdale. Or no boundary at all N/S but just and E/W boundary between EOS and WOS.
  15. Get the impression Lok are taking the Bo’ness route. Waiting for others to take the lead but ultimately will take the plunge.
  16. I haven’t been to a game yet in 2020 so not sure what the feeling is. Hopefully Lok a bit less blinkered than some clubs but we shall see. Might try and get along to Neilston on Saturday given Brig O Lea is actually the closest football ground to my house.
  17. Classy statement. As a fan I’m happy with that. Keeps options open but definitely indicates we won’t be left behind.
  18. Technically if we use the traditional (pre 1975) counties and the very old county names then there are two remaining junior clubs from Edinburghshire (Midlothian). Those being Pumpherston and West Calder.
  19. Looks good but as you’ve got Stirling clubs in North region wouldn’t you have Clackmannanshire teams there too (Sauchie CFC). And wouldn’t Rosyth want to be with the other Fife clubs? I won’t mention where Blackburn might be if the current standings were less rough...
  20. Fauldhouse should build a new ground at East Badallan Farm. Closer to the railway station than Park View is (less than half a mile), about the same distance to either from the Miners Welfare. Postal address of: East Badallan Farm, Fauldhouse, Bathgate, West Lothian, EH47 9AG. You can walk there from the Hoose entirely on roads maintained by West Lothian Council. And yet the ground would be WOS eligible as the farm is in North Lanarkshire despite the address!
  21. Agreed, also, once the EOS has a permanent structure, I would like to see more relaxed rules for tier 8 to make it easier for amateurs to make the step up. Agreed. Could be a positive opportunity to drive up standards internally by simultaneously introducing a slightly higher requirement for Tier 6 EOS (working up towards licensing, though perhaps excluding the floodlights) while also replacing the standards at Tier 8 to help ambitious amateurs progress.
  22. Cambuslang interested in the final paragraph there...
