  1. And if Gretna were relegated from the LL and opted to go to the WOS they'd be further east than all the West Lothian and Edinburgh clubs as well as Peebles, Penicuik, Whitehill Welfare, Bonnyrigg and all the Fife clubs except Kennoway, St Andrew's and Tayport.
  2. Just wait until the revised HL/LL boundary is proposed to be between Perth and Angus and we get into the argument as to whether Foxhall Park, Coupar Angus should be classified as an Angus ground because it was formerly located in the Monifieth district of Forfarshire prior to its ridiculous 1891 transfer to the Eastern Rural district of Perthshire.
  3. Though you’ve got Peebles in the WOS there so I’m not sure constituencies are the correct building blocks...
  4. Though only if you back before the foundation of the SFA.
  5. While Cromdale is in Highland these days if going with pre 1975 counties (as per the maps earlier in the thread) then it was in Elginshire before reorganisation.
  6. But the chippy in Harthill (not Greenrigg as it doesn’t have a chippy) will give you Sauce (as does the chippy in Carnwath which is the only other Lanarkshire chippy I know of with sauce.) Otherwise Sauce does map pretty well to EOS region although you don’t get it in Eyemouth, St Andrew’s, Teeedmouth, Perth or Hawick. I believe the most northerly chippy sauce is to be found in the Chinese takeaway in Newburgh unless someone else can enlighten me.
  7. Most of them are playing out of Council / School 3G type facilities so might be a struggle to meet ground criteria (depending how low the bar is set). Strathaven's setup looks pretty decent. Shared with a Rugby Club but that shouldn't be an issue as such.
  8. Looking at SFA Platinum Quality Mark Clubs in West region towns that don't currently have a junior or senior non league team throws up possibilities like: Strathaven Dynamo AFC Giffnock SC Milngavie FC Glenburn Miners Welfare FC (Prestwick) Ardencaple FC (Helensburgh) Drumchapel United Holytown Colts
  9. It's a beautifully maintained pitch at Scourie. Lovely location as well.
  10. LL2 West in many respects is WOS by another name. You could imagine some of the LL clubs like BSC and Cumbernauld preferring it as giving a safety net that isn’t going to be run entirely by the WRJFA clubs. It also moves the SOS down a tier which may appeal to clubs like Dalbeattie.
  11. Lowland League should make clear that there will be a guaranteed destination for all West clubs who express an interest. Option 1: LL2 Advise that this will happen at a minimum and if 1-8 clubs from the West wish to join the Pyramid they will be guaranteed entry to a 16 team Tier 6 league with the balance of 8-15 clubs drawn from the East of Scotland. Option 2: LL2 East and West If 9-16 clubs from the West wish to join the pyramid then guarantee that Tier 6 will be split into LL2 East and West even if the West League is initially undersized. Option 3: LL2 West and WOS League If 17+ clubs from the West wish to join the pyramid then a LL2 West and a feeder WOS league at Tier 7 will be established with exact numbers in each league to be determined. If that set of proposals were put forward then it gives a viable pyramid destination for West region clubs whether it is just one club joining or if there are 30+ clubs who want to join.
  12. Although of course Scone Thistle are in the LL area so without a change to the HL / LL boundary they'd actually be needing to apply for EOS membership or remain in the ERJFA rump South of Tay league (despite being north of the Tay).
  13. This post is less coherent than a Boris Johnson speech!
  14. I'm not sure anyone thinks the line is carved in stone. I took the EOS's point to be that the line was not of their making and could only be altered by the SPFL and LL as it was their arrangement, probably also needing the agreement of the SFA and HL. Personally I'd definitely like to see some changes to the line in terms of making it more based on local authority boundaries rather than a line of latitude (to avoid anomalies like Scone Thistle in the LL area while Luncarty are in the HL despite being only a few miles away). I'd also like to see some flexibility for clubs within a certain distance of the boundary line to choose which side they wish to move to (e.g allowing Tayport to remain with Dundee clubs). I'd happily acknowledge though that changes to the line like that are not in the power of the EOS.
  15. Lowland League Two for season 2020-21 has got to be the best solution to this. 16 team league with guarantee of 8 spaces for West based clubs (if enough apply) and a commitment to create 2 x 16 team leagues LLW and LLE if there is enough interest. Allows West Juniors to apply knowing there is a viable league for them to go to even if there isn't enough interest for a full WOS league.
  16. 127 is excluding any Linlithgow / Boness junior sides (or Syngenta / Dunblane /Breadalbane). So basically to need the same number of rounds as this year's Junior Cup at least 2 of those 5 will need to be accepted by the ERJFA.
  17. So I'm assuming that Cruden Bay are back in the Junior Cup this year and that Coupar Angus are suspended. With Kinnoull and Glenrothes away to EOS that suggests the Junior Cup entrants are down to 127 clubs. So there will only need to be a Round One this year if there are at least 2 new clubs admitted to the East Region (or indeed North or West).
  18. The only bit you've got wrong is the EOS Premier for next year. The 16th club is Sauchie as Bonnyrigg (or Whitehill) are already included as one of the 15 from the 3 x top 5s. Should read: A new EoS Premier Division has been formed for next season, comprised of the top 5 clubs from each of the 3 "Conferences" last season and the best placed 6th placed finisher, Sauchie.
  19. There were two rounds of midweeks in August for the Qualifying Leagues last year and some teams played another two midweeks before September as well so you could easily get 3-4 full sets of midweek League dates in before September.
  20. Fair distance for Tweedmouth to play their home games...
  21. It's perfectly possible to split into 2 at each level from 5 downwards but in reality we get to such small geographical areas so quickly that it isn't really needed at tier 7/ tier 8. Tier 5 - Highland Tier 6 - NCFL Tier 7 - none / amateur Tier 8 - none / amateur This works only because there is no realistic Tier 7/8 for North West Highlands. Tier 5 - Highland Tier 6 - North Juniors Superleague Tier 7 - North Juniors East / North Juniors West Tier 8 - none / amateur This works just about but North Juniors have found it better to run Division 1 and 2. Maybe with Tayside clubs added a North / South split at Tier 7 works better? Tier 5 - Lowland Tier 6 - Lowland League West (basically current WR Premier) Tier 7 - SOS + WRJFA Premier (but with current Championship teams) Tier 8 - (no SOS feeders) + WRJFA Ayrshire / WRJFA Central This works down to Tier 7 but at Tier 8 forcing WRJFA to split geographically again conflicts with recent reorganisation away from Ayrshire / Central setup. Tier 5 - Lowland Tier 6 - Lowland League East (basically current EOS Premier) Tier 7 - EOS North / EOS South Tier 8 - EOS Fife / EOS West Lothian + EOS Midlothian / EOS Borders Again this could work to an extent but is forcing regionalisation at an earlier point than seems to be desired by clubs. Even with all the East Juniors South of the Tay you're basically about 50 clubs short of what you need for this structure which is a lot to find in the Amateurs. Even moving the LL boundary to the South Esk would leave you about 30 clubs short of what you need to make the structure work. So you probably could achieve a perfect Pyramid but is aiming to do so actually desirable for delivering the most competitive football to clubs?
  22. Thanks. Does seem unlikely this year but SFA are going to have to think about changes for 2020-21 to cope with the additional licensed clubs.
  23. So if BoD joined HL and Largs won the Junior Cup either a rule change or an extra Preliminary Round would be required?
  24. Shocking to see an admission that the licensing criteria were changed purely to try and reduce the number of future applications. The fact the Chief Executive doesn’t even have the brains to lie about this is possibly even more worrying than the fact they did it in the first place!
  25. I agree. My point being that even if say Whitehill asked for a voluntary relegation so a 16th club was needed there is no particular reason why Linlithgow would be chosen ahead of other, higher placed licensed clubs.
