  1. We've already done the stuck in league 1 thing. No thanks.
  2. Got to say that I was hoping for a better keeper than OFW. Wasn't that impressed with him last year. The rest look really good signings. Hope we can improve on Turner too.
  3. This takes me back to the late 80's and Leishman's famous ''Selling an ace to buy four Kings'' statement.
  4. Courier reporting that Dom Thomas is on his way to the Pars. What a top signing that would be. apparently looking at Blair Alston too. Also confirm that we negotiated a ''substantial'' sell on clause https://www.thecourier.co.uk/fp/sport/football/scottish-championship/1435592/exclusive-dunfermline-secure-sell-on-clause-for-kevin-nisbet-and-signing-spree-will-begin-with-dom-thomas/
  5. The club offered and paid their contacts in full. None of these players have been offered a contract retrospectively, so it doesn't look like they would've stayed in normal circumstances. Many of these players have gained long term employment due to being released. Thompson to Derry, Smith to Hamilton, Paton to EK. We have also given employment to 4 people since then. Can't see how you take the moral high ground, when your club abuse a system that was created as a bridge to keep employees in long term employment.
  6. We didn't want them. No point wasting tax payers money on players we don't intend to keep. That would be abusing the system. Money that could go to the homeless or disabled.
  7. He'll be playing in the Premiership next year, going by previous (what looked like) shite signings Robertson has made.
  8. Yeah, I'm a little surprised that Pars have gone big on this move (If the 3 year deal is correct). I could turn out horrible if he doesn't cut it. Crawford must really rate him, to take such a risk. There will be division in the support on this move and the club will know it. All this must've been taken into consideration.
  9. Do you think Dowds would do well in the Championship? His goal scoring record is not great. Guess his game is more link up or target man.
  10. People grow up and deserve a secord chance. He was very young and naive back then. When I look back at me at the age of 19 I cringe at some of the dickhead stuff I did. I have since gone on to build a good career and have a loving family. That would never have been possible if folk judged me as the same 19 year old twat for the rest of my life.
  11. Good signing for Hibs. Never like to see a player of that quality leave but that's what our business model is. Hopefully the replacement can replicate Nisbet.
  12. Will be gutted to see Nisbet go, but he's out grown where we are as a club now. If the fee is 250K, I would imagine a decent sell on will be included. Bargin for you guys. I know he's never played higher than championship, but you can see right away that he'll go far. Tall and athletic, good touch and a natural goalscorer with feet or head. He'll go further than Shankland IMO.
  13. O'Hara is similar to Nesbit in the way that folk in the game have always thought there was a player there, but it's taken a few years for it to result in scoring goals. Nisbet had one good year at Rovers and never looked back after signing for us. O'Hara hopefully follows a similar route next season. He's a wee bit younger than Nisbet was when he signed for us too, so plenty time to get the best out of him. Nisbet certainly credits Crawford in making him a better player. Hopefully O'Hara can gain from Crawford's experience too.
  14. Must be a goer, not only has he started following Pars on Twitter but his mum has too.
  15. The guy was a daft teenager at the time. To be fair, he was the only one to come back and and apologise afterwards. The two more experienced guys were silent, older and should've known better. I think O'Hara looks like he has come of age in the last year and I would give him a chance.
  16. Kevin O'Hara is the latest signing rumour. Having a medical tomorrow. McManus was delayed today. Announced tomorrow now. All go in the background.......apparently.
  17. Nearly signed Brown last Summer but it never came off for whatever reason. ''Jim McInally has not given up hope of keeping midfielder Scott Brown at Peterhead after the midfielder held talks with Dunfermline Athletic. The Blue Toon boss spoke to Brown after his discussions with the Championship outfit last week and has been given some optimism, with the former St Johnstone man not thrilled by what they had to offer.'' Brown turned down the offer due to wages offered. This is a quote from the P&J last year.
  18. Didn't realise Tom Walsh rejected a new deal at ICT. He would a good option on the wing. Guessing he's wanting a bigger gig than the Scottish Championship though.
  19. Been rumoured for a while now with McManus. Not a great scoring record at this level but will take him.
  20. Steven Mill tells Paul Watson that it a massive club and Watson agrees. Contradicts Watson about 10 seconds before hand when Watson laughs that you can easily get all the Pars fans in EEP and still socially distance.
  21. How not? Nostalgia is exactly what we want from Dunfermline! If that's the case, then do it properly and get Hamish French to dust his boots down. Followed by knocking the stands down and rebuild the terracing brick for brick as before. Oh and sack off Stephens the bakers and bring back 007 catering ''licence to grill'' just for the hell of it.
