Who does everyone think will get the Darvel job? It will be a big ask to rebuild a team with reduced resources and very high expectations.

Did the Darvel manager leave early? Spotted in glasgow about 15 minutes after the final whistle?

Lugar were in the super first under Jimsey Kirkland who took them to a Scottish cup quarter final against Tayport.

Why would I follow a player on social media from a team I don’t support? I was talking about how the players conduct themselves on the pitch. Now if he went about challenging people to a fight on the park I might have a different opinion.

I’m only interested in what he does on the park and he would get into any team at this level. He’s a player.

Kennedy has the team playing some outstanding football and I think the players conduct themselves pretty well considering the stick they get. It’s not their fault the club attract so much negativity because of the way the club behave. The money thing is interesting as most clubs would be delighted to have the backing Darvel currently have, so jealousy apart, it seems to me the main criticism comes from the the way the club presents itself. In my humble opinion they would do well to attract more players with a local or at least Ayrshire connection. That and a bit of humility would go a long way.

Having played and watched this level of football for close on half a century, I have to say that the present Darvel team compares favourably with anything I have seen. The transformation at Recreation park is nothing short of incredible and will be attractive to anyone who might in time replace the people currently running the club. Players, management and fans apart, they lack class, and if I was to make one other criticism it is the lack of Ayrshire players currently in the squad

First time I’ve watched Darvel this season. Cumnock got their tactics spot on. Darvel flatter to deceive and need a few players in the mould of Finlay Frye. The manager and some of his players seem to lack the knowledge of what is required at this level. The approach struck me to be a perfect example of a team assembled with no football men in the background. Great set-up but a long way to go before Darvel can call themselves a big club in the present company.

Played and managed at amateur level. Filled his team with ex seniors and guys that should never have been playing amateur. Generally accepted they were amateur in name only. As a result very successful but he’s now a different sized fish in a much bigger pond.
