  1. It had been one thing after another for Sean this season unfortunately, but good to hear that he's fit again and may be in the squad next weekend. Arnie has been very good though, with Sean fit it gives the manager a bit of a selection headache, a good one though. Sorry to hear about Ross as I thought that he had a lot of potential, and you could see a big difference in him after only a few months with the Senior team. I hope that he can make a return some time in the future as he's too good to go out of the game altogether. Well done to the club for supporting him, and thanks for the info. Kefc.
  2. How is Sean McKirdy, is he close to a comeback? Is Ross Mutch okay, haven't seen him in the squad recently?
  3. I've been to several Lowland League matches in recent seasons and the standard is improving all the time, especially as the ex.-Junior sides are beginning to move up from the East of Scotland League. There's now very little difference between the top sides in the Lowland League and most League 2 sides, and the gap to some League 1 sides is narrowing all the time, so there's no disgrace in losing to teams in the higher echelons of the Lowland. I think in the near future we will see sides like Kelty, Bonnyrigg, BSC make their way into the SPFL, especially if they make the method of moving up less complicated and less restrictive.
  4. Great result for the Rose, also great day for the Lowland League teams in the cup.
  5. It was, and it was a good day for the Lowland League teams in the cup.
  6. Totally agree, the improvement in the defence can be seen in the amount of goals lost this season compared to last, but Ferguson also changed the team's formation so that the defence has more protection and the midfield can be more competitive. What's also good is that all the changes don't make the team less attractive to watch, and I always look forward to watching them play.
  7. Kelty were outstanding from start to finish last night and were well worth their four goal win. Good also to see Sean McKirdy get a few minutes under his belt, he's missed when he's not in the side.
  8. Not a great first half but second half created several chances including a missed penalty and Ross Philp hitting the post with an incredible shot from a tight angle. Stirling fought hard but could not hold out for the full 90 minutes. Was standing next to Darren Dodds for a bit and had a bit chat with him. Thoroughly decent bloke.
  9. Totally agree. If I could say anything that you could pass on to fellow Talbot fans travelling by car and that's to maybe arrive as early as possible as parking will be difficult around the ground, although many may already be aware of this. I was at Kelty's game on Saturday and it was difficult to park with 1100 there, so it'll be much worse with 2100 turning up.
  10. If all away teams brought 300 to NCP then I'm sure all at Kelty would be delighted
  11. I agree about their style of play and about the possiby red cards. There have been many days that have justified the move from the Juniors, and this was definitely one of them.
  12. It was a great effort by the team today, but I was disappointed by Solihull thought they would have been a lot better than they actually were. Agree that the league is the priority and Bonnyrigg's defeat today gives us a boost.
  13. 4-0 looks like an easy win but the youngsters worked hard and looked sharp in spells and Kelty had to be on their toes for the full 90 minutes. It was an enjoyable game as both teams played a lot of good football at a good pace making it easy to forget the non-stop rain!
  14. It was a very good performance last night, Kelty controlled the game pretty much from start to finish. Hard to fault anyone last night, everyone put in a good shift, but as you say McKirdy was outstanding. Looking forward to Saturday to what should be another cracking match.
  15. This'll probably be your toughest test so far, good venue but pitch has quite a slope from shyline to shyline making good football that wee bit more tricky. All the best.
  16. Didn't think Dalbeattie had that many clear cut chances but they did battle hard. Didn't expect 8-0, probably nobody did, but a tremendous start to what will be a tough campaign.
  17. £7 is very good value to watch Kelty in what is a good league that's improving in quality season by season. I very rarely come away from a game not having thoroughly enjoyed the match. I also look forward to the next match immensely no matter the opposition.
  18. No worries. I'll need to get up to some U20s games this season.
  19. Thanks, he did have a good game. Do you know who the number 19 against Thornton was, he came on as a sub. and looked a very good player.
  20. Was he number 19 against Thornton too? I thought that he was very impressive in that game.
  21. I. EK. 2. Kelty 3. Bonnyrig
  22. I also think that Elliot is a good player, and he was getting better year by year. He'll be missed.
