  1. No doubt that this is the clubs most successful period for a generation. Could do without the off field distractions as it can’t be helping the club.
  2. I think the game Derek Adams was at might’ve been worse. Some rant from him!
  3. Ok, I accept that I’m in the minority here and possibly guilty of seeing things through Livi tinted specs. It’s undeniable that we aren’t scoring goals (or raining shots in) so a single goal is enough to beat us. I would just add that in those same last 10 games you reference there are only 3 teams who have conceded less (Rangers, Celtic, Killie).
  4. Ok, I understand what you are saying. I don’t think it’s realistic to call each home game a ‘must win’, at any point, for a team like Livi. I think we are trying to shut up shop and be hard to beat. I’d be curious to know who’s conceded less than us in the last half dozen games. The st mirren goal was an OG and Boyle got fortunate, too. Ok, you can argue that it’s not worth a lot if only one goal is needed to beat us but I do think we look better defensively.
  5. Coming within a baw hair of beating a team that defeated Celtic the week before - that would be considered a good result in any form. Another performance to take encouragement from. Can’t be sulking in this perilous position. Not much more Davie and the management can do. Anderson is a striker and a professional. His job is to hit the target. Not having any of this ‘he’s not a penalty taker’ talk. He needs to dust himself off and continue to work hard.
  6. I think this aligns with there not being much between the worst teams in the league. We have been toothless this season though.
  7. This opponent beat Celtic last week and we are holding them to a draw. Gonnae just wait until after the game to start yer pish?
  8. Hadn’t appreciated how big and direct Killie were!
  9. I thought last week was an encouraging performance and I feel good about our prospects but Killie seem strong this season.
  10. This thread is pretty bleak at the moment. We’ve had a great few years for a tiny club. You wouldn’t think that reading back (the pages that I didn’t skip).
  11. We lost and we’re 5 points adrift. on the performance front, reading the match thread, i think it’s clear that both sets of fans think we were in the game. anderson (and probably st Kelly) is going to have to feature more but I don’t think we should be throwing in the towel yet. Hibs have received plaudits lately and IMO they were celebrating exetensively at hanging on against a team bottom of the league after a a goal from a lucky break!
  12. I actually thought we were the better team today haha. Thought the extent to which the Hibs players and fans celebrating the 1-0 win was indicative of this. unfortunate break of the ball to Boyle for the goal. Encouraging forward play from us at times (compared to recently) and Marshall pulling off a good couple of saves. Forgot Boyle was on the park in 2nd half. Something to build on. 5 points adrift not a great position to be and ominous.
  13. Laugh all you like but we’ve got that £33 mil parachute payment coming our way
  14. Didnae get pumped so that’ll have to do. First half we were chasing shadows a bit but hung in at least. Improved 2nd half and gifted Rangers the opportunity to kill the game with the very on trend penalty concession for hands up. Thought the first penalty was a dive and I’ve no idea how the VAR review missed it. Also looks to me like the goal is an OG off Kelly after Dessers squaring/misfiring. The angle from opposite side shows it going wide before Livi player touches it, no?
  15. And another draw tonight. Aye, Livi haven’t been terrific recently but id challenge anyone to show me a team where the consensus among the support is they’ve had a good first quarter (outside top 4)! Even St Mirren, in 3rd, have won less than half their games and rescued draws in injury time. it’s tight and we’re only 4 points off Europe. I accept that the trajectory hasn’t been great but I do think we’ll get better. Not pinning it all on Teto but I’d like to think we’ll find a way to offer more offensively. i don’t think it should be panic stations yet.
  16. I get that we are far from sexy football at the moment but against Dundee both MacKay (lobbed too high) and Kelly (driven shot) missed the target when they really should have done better. The point being fine margins in games and the league is showing there is very little in it. I can’t imagine anyone below 4th place is raving about their team this season. i should add that a win every half a dozen games or so would be sufficient for me this year as I expect there to be 7/8 teams that, should they get their shit together, would be better than us.
  17. Cheers, I don’t remember that many point blank saves from Hamilton. I am an old ba5tard though.
  18. Yea, I get that and obviously worse would be said if pumped. I just feel like it could’ve been 10 mins away from a ‘stuffy Livi grind it out’ narrative. We were never going to set up to dominate possession. Maybe I am playing devils advocate but Until the goal we didn’t need Anderson to get a positive result. We’d have risked our relative defensive solidity by sacrificing a midfielder for him. no doubt it would’ve been more fun if we’d played very open but I think we’d have been easy meat for Shankland, Forrest, etc.
  19. At this risk of sounding like a happy clapper… I’m not as doom and gloom about it as I’d never be surprised to lose away to Hearts. As well as being dead certs for relegation, we are 3/4 points off a European place? Perspective at this stage in the season? On the game, I actually felt we were ok at 78 mins when the goal went in. The game had settled a bit. How many of those shots from Hearts were inside 18/20 yards? Very few from memory. Heard a Hearts fan outside ground say, “…if he meant it or if he just shanked it across goal”, in reference to the assist. I think it was a cleaner pass than that but an element of playing the percentages about it. With a bit of luck we could have had a draw.
  20. We’ve been a bit rubbish lately, looking a bit toothless in attack and conceding cheap goals including from set pieces. This does feel like the kind of game where we could see a reaction though. I expect we’ll be inviting pressure and looking for an outball to a speed merchant. Unfortunately, I didn’t realise this fixture was on until after Saturdays game so I’ve ended up in the same position as I do every week and ticketless. Annoying thing is I live next door to Tynecastle but no PAYG option. Scottish Football doesn’t make it easy for us haha
  21. Oh dear, that looks deliberate! Felt we could’ve scored before that but not at all after so probably cost us a point minimum. Didn’t think there was much in it 11 vs 11 and he was arguably our best performer. There are 2 points between half a dozen teams so league position nothing to be concerned and irrelevant (unless 32 games played) id say.
  22. Oh dear, I think the most disappointing thing is that goals were second contacts from set pieces as opposed to open play. The extra man shouldn’t really matter there. (Was Montaño marking Shaugnessy in first half?) I didn’t see anything at the time of the sending off so quite intrigued to see what happened. From comments above seems like Montaño has stamped out? That’s disappointing because I thought he and we were looking decent (and MacKay could have scored, for example). I don’t think being contacted or stood on if you are on the deck is a surprise or violent. edit: most disappointing thing was we let down the folks who came along for first time today!
