Derek Adams interview
kennie makevin replied to Ewanandmoreagain's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
I think Morecambe & their fans don't have the slightest interest in how they would fare in Scottish football anymore than they'd be interested in how they'd fare in Puerto Rican football . And they certainly wouldn't pay attention to the semi-literate ravings of the idiot McFadden who I doubt many would have heard of in any case. -

Which would be fine if Scottish football was either factually, actually or contractually great. But it's not. It's tedious predictable garbage and the longer that fact is ignored the longer it will stay that way. -

I'm not comparing it to anything. The Scottish top flight is dismally poor. The state of Czech, Moldovan or Baffin Island football is irrelevant. However crap it may or may not be won't suddenly make our game better. -

Derek Adams interview

By what standard is it remotely 'great'. Is two secterian clubs treating the top flight like their tedious plaything 'great' ? Is cup semi-finals always being played in Glasgow at stupid O'Clock regardless of where the clubs are from, 'great' ? Is the almost corrupt desperation to grant the two secterian clubs three points through dubious penalty awards and absurd amounts of time added on, 'great' ? Scottish football can be great, should be great. To say it's great at the moment is delusional at best and could be said to be enthusiastically supportive of how things currently are. -

I , shock horror, have also lived in England and even know some English people . I'll tell you what comes from a place of total ignorance - this idea that all 'English' have a disdain for anything that isn't English. I would guess their view of Scottish football is based on the same two clubs being champions since 1985. I fail to see why you wouldn't hold that in disdain but it's not evidence of a little Englander mentality. -

What, all of the English ? Every single one of them ? All have a disdain for anything not English ? Good God ! Thanks for alerting us. -

Yet both are simply cheerleaders. McIntyre parhaps more obviously and stupidly but Richard Gordon with his insistence that every bog standard tediously predictable premiership Saturday was 'fascinating' is equally myopic. A league that has been won by only two clubs since 1985 can be called many things but 'fascinating' is certainly not one of them. We should parhaps give Derek Adams the presenters gig ! -
Celtic v Heart of Midlothian

Clearly you're not angry as you are that rarity - an intelligent, level headed, emotionally mature Celtic fan. But it's the red faced lunacy of the kind that spits venom at the board because he didn't receive the as per usual routine scudding of 'the diddies' which he believes his purchase of a season ticket entitled him to, which concerns us here. -

Is Derek Adams seriously trying to tell us that the Scottish top flight is rubbish. ? Good for him because it is. -

What else are they supposed to be ? If the Celtic board are happy to be better than Rangers that's a sober assessment of the reality of modern European football. Aberdeen have as much chance of winning the Scottish title as Celtic have of being European contenders. Why throw millions at something which is unachievable ? -

Not pish but close. Mid 2020 estimate: Paisley 77,270 ; EK 75,310. Step aside milltown we're coming through. !!! -

Never been to Broughty. Went to Broughty Ferry assuming it was an east coast Gourock - Dunoon type thing but sadly no. Never been to St Andrews or indeed Fife. -
George is getting angry now !!!!

Don't think so...I always took that to be the last Friday before Christmas. Called it Black Friday until a few years ago when that American post-thanksgiving sale thing of the same name was foisted on us by desperate retailers

Tam I'm sure is a good and generous guy. That though is irrelevant to whether or not he is a good broadcaster. And as he co-hosts a radio show where his appointed role appears to be that of 'funny man', then what people think of his 'sense of humour' is more important than how much money he may donate, however worthy the cause.
