  1. Maybees I, maybees no, but you guys are no way near top on league1 forget Championship. We are the poorest we have been in years, whilst weather was awful at the weekend , it was poor vs very poor at the weekend… you guys have a long way to go before thinking top of the championship.
  2. Lies , dam lies and statistics . On BBC goals he has the best goals per minutes at Arbroath. Reading his stuff on the press, he has covid, got half a game in a league cup game vs Hamilton and is punted as No4 striker. Seemingly joins Arbroath, no match fit, lacking confidence, gets lots of 5 min subs roles and scores vs top teams in the league- Raith, Kilmarnock, Thistlle. And at the weekend no 3 in 4 vs Morton… .. but no good enough for Falkirk….behave…
  3. As a long standing EF fan and like all of us EF fans a big ” Tonks” fan- we have been surprised by his lack of success at Falkirk but not at Arbroath. We always believed taking into account how young he is in professional terms he could play in a much higher level than even championship. As a much loved player by us , we have been surprised by the vocal distaste by many Falkirk posters on this forum , not only on this forum but posting on our EF forum and indeed the Arbroath forum before he even kicked a ball for them- descriptions like “ dugshite “ from that Eknob boy!.etc . Anyway his lovely “large “ family from all generations, always support him, came to all our games with EF and as a small family club we all recognised them- i don't recognise this person at all from the many games they came to- who says he is his brother? - or do people just want a story to fill the narrative?. All i know , from the many times he was MOM for us and again at the weekend, he comes across as a very descent lad, intelligent , hard working and successful in business before he decided to take a plunge into FT football. - he will be smarter than those who are speaking to him( probably way to smart for Sheerin) and would not surprise me if he will have read and probably ignored the nonsense on these threads -but like any of us wont forget what was said- for me i cant believe any of his family would be allowed to talk such nonsense on any forum- he comes across as his own guy- he will make his own decision- the rest in my view is just noise….
  4. Thats good to hear. He was brilliant with EF and then seem to lose his way at Falkirk. Turning FT in a pandemic year would not of been great- but couldn't believe he was no4 striker then loaned out to a team a league above. Falkirk seem to play with only one forward( think as really couldn't see anything yesterday) and sure he will not be happy to go back just to warm the bench?
  5. I’m sure if left to him he would rather stay.( Surely no one would think any different in the same position?). At Arbroath he is clearly supported by the management team, harmony surrounding the whole club, playing with better players and top of the Championship with a unique chance to make the play offs. Falkirk is a club a league below, with disharmony , poorer players and may struggle to make the play offs, and where he was rated as the no 4 striker by the management team and not rated by many of the Falkirk supporters.
  6. Unfair- never let us down and scored some important goals. Right side of defence, when he played that position and Dunnsy further forward was our best season and really should of made the play- offs- how far we have fallen-hopefully temporary!
  7. Actually , the current(crazy ) 10 day isolation rule means that any player vaccinated or not could miss games…..
  8. No- its because we are so low- lost all enthusiasm for anything around our club.
  9. I have to say just Listened to the podcast shown on this forum- have to say Rennie was impressive ,very impressive,.He was articulate , sensible, intelligent and clearly a good communicator. He has also tested himself abroad.- all credit to him.Would love to know who found him, as if he becomes successful, every success story has a 000 authors! As an outsider, but like most EF fans we love our hardworkingX players, it will be fascinating what happens to Dowds under his leadership. .Dowds is an equally intelligent guy , giving up a successful career to try FT football. We loved him, went FT , unfortunately during a pandemic,. He clearly underperformed at Falkirk first season like many others , and the most common description of him by the loudest posters on this forum, and their visits to our forum and indeed Arbroath's , is that he was “ dugshite”.! Based on his courier interview , he got covid beginning of the year and ended up 4th choice under Sheerin having had no game time!Campbell sprinkles his magic dust after he has been on the subs bench for weeks to get back to full fitness he scores 3 goals in 6 starts( I think) vs the best teams in the league, Raith, Kilmarnock and Thistle, His 2 years with us he always scored in the big games against Raith, Morton, Falkirk( old times) and United. Whilst always came across as a really good, professional guy, he must be wanting to continue to play for a team that is near promotion to the premiership , where he is supported, rather than go back to being 4th choice to a team where the fans think he is “dugshite”, . Love to see how Rennie assesses and manages this- if he agree with the loud, ie he is dugshite, but my sense he will flourish under an intelligent and smart manager. If not, rather than send him back to those PT’ guys he might get promotion , can you please send him back to his natural home where he is loved and admired for his work rate, effort and talent?
  10. Its all about opinions- your squad is good enough to get promoted. Keena is being chased by Raith, before i get a deluge of negativity from posters, many who have refused to support the team in person for i am sure good reasons, but I have seen you live this past year as much as some of the other Posters.!, Clearly, Keena has not done the business, but really if Sheerin is as bad as you all say( and I dont disagree) , you may need to have sympathy for him. The public humiliation of him and Dowds at the fan forum by your Director of Football has gone virile.Any wonder he might feel frustrated, demotivated? That goal vs Airdrie tells you he has something(?). Now we are bottom of the league, I have seen all the teams in the league. I still cant believe with a bit of common sense and tactics you cant get promoted. We should of beat Cove , they will drop points going forward…. Not been impressed by any of the leading teams this year including yourselves.
  11. The Kingsley comments are a gentle reminder why die hard fans should be kept away from running a football club. From afar it feels a real stretch that Ross is a realistic target. Your recent fan fund raise( and genuinely well done and respect to those involved) wouldn't cover his annual salary- by the way Hibs fans think he is awful(?) i think you guys have easily the squad to get promotion. Rather than comparing the current squad to teams past, comparing them to teams that beat you is the real question. A manager with a bit of common sense , that can get the fans behind the team thro thick and thin, will get you back on track. If you get promoted with your fan base that is the time to go for some of the names mentioned. The big question is who is that manger to take you to the next level and set the foundation for the next guy to build from?
  12. Agreed. Not sure anyone in a safe job would want to entertain Falkirk whilst things are still largely uncertain . Whilst fan support positive- the monies involved are still relatively small and no idea whether the new fan involvement will be a success. I would imagine only a FT person in a much lower league might be of interest at this stage. In 6 months time the attraction of the club on a sound base I could see as being a very attractive opportunity- thats why my guess is it will be a 6 month contract until stability is restored. If its good enough for Man Utd its good enough for Falkirk
  13. Well that doesn't make sense, unless the quality of applications were awful. Have to say not really enthused by this appointment- but we need to get behind the manager . Hope he has some sort of budget for January.
  14. You might be right re split personality. Only listened to him once when you guys were playing us and thought he came across as a descent chap in the interview. I was therefore very surprised by his mad man antics on the sidelines, and thought then he must be fun in the dressing room?I guess he can always try and become an extra in “Twin Peaks “if the football thing doesn't work out.
  15. Agree with what you say. Overriding feeling is ,although inevitable ,is one of sadness. As you say had some great moments the past 4 years, beating teams above us regularly and of course breaking the Raith hoodoo . The current team, whilst ravaged by injuries this season is miles behind DY’s best team over the 4 years. That for me is the big unanswered question . No one can doubt his ability to sign quality players whether on loan or permanently, but signings this summer have been well below his usual standard. Was the budget cut post pandemic? What happened? Anyway the buck always stops at the manager. Re the new person who knows. The attractions of our club is the family atmosphere and culture and the wonderful people who work behind the scenes. The negatives are , the worst stadium in league 1, one of the lowest if not the lowest budgets in the league and a shareholder ownership structure that is designed for failure.
  16. All fair points, but the most important point being a truly outstanding management team who seemed to get supported by an excellent Board. You could easily argue they have the best back 4 in the Championship and I think 3 of them Played with them in league 2! Their ability to get the best out of players or improve them whether its a PT player or loanees that have lost their way , is remarkable. Wished it was us.
  17. Got the performance- and the result. Most EF fans would not of expected the latter.. Hopefully one of our good runs starting.
  18. Don't expect anything from this weekend. Just hope we play well ( dont get hammered) and continue to build confidence in the team and get some long term injured players back. i have reconciled myself to win as many games at home as possible, get to second bottom and win the playoffs! I know may be overly pessimistic but would take that today- hope we do better but wouldn't bet on it.
  19. X- fair point. Seriously though do you not think that some posters on your forum cross the line?. That boy , Wilson, never seen him play, but he has parents, family, friends some of whom may read the toxic comments from anonymous posters. Doesn't feel right. We are not great, but you guys just seem to be extreme. X
  20. They are not daft- they will have protections. Any new shareholder will have to accommodate them first, ie take them out… before anything can happen.
  21. - Great question?- maybe ask a few x players- oops that may be difficult, as the droves of your x players may not want to respond , as your board has a history of destroying x players in public forums! On reflection agree with tour comment - would make a good sinister Stephen King book.
  22. Or there is something deep rooted and bad about your club from owners to directors to frustrated supporters that creates a darkness where nobody can flourish and those few who do have any success want to escape as quickly as possible.- no player or agent with any sense would ever want to send a player to Falkirk , unless they are overpaid, and I would suggest they are the wrong player.- or maybe the right one?. Telfer seems to be doing well- hear that he will be at Rovers next year- makes sense- McGinn a football man., descent man, getting the best out of Connolly , and why would any descent player want to stay at Falkirk and listen to the bile of the frustrated fans?
  23. Congratulations Arbroath, amazing what you boys have done over the past 4 years!. Dick Campbell and his team don’t come across as masterful technicians but my god- they are masters of man management , players will clearly run through walls for them. They also know a player. Got a text from my ICT pal who said you were worthy winners. Whilst the back 4 were amazing, he said could not believe the work rate of your front 2! Noubo and particularly Dowds. Delighted, to see our X Dowds now starting, get him right he will be some player. Nobody will work harder and with games will score, we loved him at EF, like many others became a basket case at the Falkirk cesspit- played against us and was awful last year- but from press comment, I know Dick likes him, he get him back to his best, give him game time, Arbroath will have some player… love what Arbroath train is doing… wished it was us.
  24. Think they may have problems with their own players- Wilson scoring more goals than Keena last year to support a point- when Keena was out injured for most of last season( cheers ), and Dixon wont he happy either, actually the Huddersfield boy wont be a bag of laughs either. Actually rest of the players will think do that to them, they will do that to me. Any Agent advising a player might think twice of them joining that house of horrors… just looks like a massive car crash….
  25. But tbf- feel there pain, clearly experiencing a nightmare and just wanted some speakers to disappear… so time had no bearing
