  2. Absolutely and notwithstanding the three years of wasted deadlock at Stormont that ensued, as one party in particular attempted to make political concessions on the back of a failed programme they were initially fully supportive of.[emoji849]
  3. Including the furtive Deputy FM, a willing exponent of the scheme in her time as Agriculture Minister. At least Big Arlene appears to be taking her failings on the chin, for what it’s worth?
  4. Just finished ‘Stranger’. As posted above, I guess they did almost manage to pull together the multiple threads of the story, but can’t help feeling a little disappointed with the ending, and certainly a bit far fetched!?
  5. ‘Mark Steel’s in Town’, series podcast on the BBC Sounds Player is fairly easy listening on a car/train journey! Enjoyed Paisley & Inverness. [emoji846]
  6. .....and the least likely of the Political Parties involved, to encourage and cajole Unionists in Northern Ireland into believing that unification could be a peaceful and equitable process. They will need considerably more than a quarter of the vote in Northern Ireland and the Republic to REALLY press the issue in any case.
  7. Sinn Fein paving the way towards a peaceful and United Ireland.
  8. GDP per Capita Vs GDP per Debt Capita is interesting in this respect?
  9. Would imagine the U.K. Government have serious concerns over a possible SF Coalition Government in the Republic, at such a sensitive stage in Brexit negotiations!?
  10. The journey made to/from West Africa is incredible in itself, didn’t ‘Lady’ return for almost 20 consecutive years to Dunkeld and the Loch of the Lowes nesting site?
  11. Austrian Jumper, Stefan Kraft’s World Record Jump of 253.5m made on 18/03/17 at Vikersund is worth a watch on You Tube, incredible!![emoji15]
  12. Looking forward to the Leeds game away at WBA as a pre-cursor to to darts final later this evening. Hopefully a decent game, plenty of Goals and The Whites to go clear. [emoji41][emoji108]
  13. Wright is definitely an acquired taste, but after destroying Price (what an absolute c*nt) I’d be pleased for him to take the title this evening as reward alone.
  14. Hard not to miss when everyone else in the house wants to watch it, yes it gets worse every year, but we all still sit down for the full 30 minute ritual. Strange behaviour indeed for something that would not be tolerated at any other point in the Calendar.
  15. On balance, Rangers were by far the better side today, Celtic can’t have much to complain about.
  16. Ridiculous decision, a perfectly good goal. No way is he offside when the ball is played, since when was the ruling ‘he’s come from an offside position’ ????
  17. Nothing much against them as a club at all, but find most Manchester United fans you meet are almost overly eager to talk tactics, line up permutations, player form statistics, transfer rumours etc..etc.. It’s almost as though they quickly need to convince you that they are a ‘proper’ supporter and not just some glory hunter from Swindon, who goes to Old Trafford once every four years. “Fucks sake, I only asked you how they got on in the Cup last night, did they win or not?” [emoji15]
  18. Stuck my headphones on and just stared out of the window, seething at the world!
  19. Overheard a conversation on the train today and a guy talking loudly into his phone (Bob Mortimer style) demanding the ‘granular detail of the logistics plan’ before he would give the go ahead apparently. Seems they were moving a couple of old office tables and a few knackered chairs, from one room to a store. What the f**k does that even mean? Do people actually get paid for coming up with this nonsense? Aye I know, c*nts on a train thread for this pish!
  20. People who circulate a message around this time of the calendar, saying ‘’We won’t be sending Christmas cards out this year’ then adding some sort of grandiose statement, saying ‘We will instead be making a donation to (insert some obscure charity) so close to our hearts’ or ‘its our way of doing our bit to save the planet’. Why not just be honest and say, ‘’there’s no fucking way, we are spending a whole Sunday afternoon writing insincere greetings to distant friends and miserable relatives, with whom we have hardly spoken a word all year, you are just not worth the time and expense of buying and posting a card’’ I think people would be much more understanding and appreciative, particularly at this festive time of goodwill and cheer?
  21. Brilliant! Surely the ‘daily drive’ was from Dumfries though not Dundee!?[emoji15] Lol
  22. ‘stopped targeting the soldiers’ !?? Le Mon, Claudy & Kingsmill.. long before ‘a huge turning point’ as you put it. Jeremy Corbyn and others within the Labour movement back then were still prepared to offer their tacit support, despite indiscriminate slaughter. If they’ve changed their viewpoint, fair enough, but at least be honest about it.
