  1. My pal was a youth team goalie at Aberdeen. Adored Jim Leighton even though he hadn't grown up supporting Aberdeen himself. Had grown his hair long and been wearing a hairband to train for a a week or so with no issue. Leighton asked to see him in the boot room and went mental. Demanded he gets rid of that before the next days session. My pal then went to get a short back and sides straight from training and all was well the next day, never spoke of it again. My mate was released at the end of that season and didn't lose any respect for Jim until seeing David Preece playing with long hair and a hair band the next season.
  2. Strange one but he's obviously not playing again here.
  3. Beat me again. Was impressed with his performance against Utd, mistake aside. Very happy to see him getting another couple of years. Not a dig at Derek but I doubt he was getting them without new management in place.
  4. Ae. You can see she tries to get a bit of distance between them on a couple of occasions.
  5. Tierney often plays in a back three for Arsenal. He's on the left wing playing in Crosses to the right footed winger who now plays as a second striker.
  6. Watkins was pivotal to that with Wright and Hedges behind him. One of which is no longer here. To get the best out of Watkins you then may have to sign a replacement for Scott Wright. He's not available for nothing. He's on English Championship wages. He's 30 and likely looking for his last decent pay day. So moving forward you're looking to have a front pairing of Watkins and Griffiths (who would both be 31 by the end of next season) while we also have Jonny Hayes looking to play out wide. Doesn't fit Cormacks "produce or sign the best young talent" model.
  7. Celtic played a back four with Tierney. Tierney stepped forward, Lustig tucked in with Brown now playing in front of a back 3. The left winger moved in field to play off the striker as Tierney now occupied his role. If you were to class this as a formation then it would have been something daft like 3-1-2-2-2. When Celtic would be defending everyone would then return to their starting positions in a 4-2-3-1. Celtic did ok.
  8. That was the plan but I'm off Thursday, Friday, Monday and Tuesday so need to get a few things done.
  9. Dearie me. The defender steps up which changes the shape and drags the opposition out of position. One of the midfielders then moves forward/wide.
  10. Formations are an archaic way of looking at things. Teams basically have an 'on the ball' set up and an 'off the ball' set up.
  11. Can Tierney manage another game? I'd expect him to be rested here.
  12. He was class in that system but if we're looking to move forward under a new manager then I don't think a 30 year old Watkins is the answer. Especially when the first two expected signings (Brown already here plus Gallagher) have a combined age of 65.
  13. To be fair he's had two roles and both were at small clubs (relevant to the time taking the job). As mentioned elsewhere if he wants another job in the English top league then he'll need to learn to work with someone above him. The SPFL is probably ideal for him.
  14. Why the Watkins obsession? He was a non scorer who excelled in a particular role of which we didn't sign him to play in the first place.
  15. Aye, that's why I commented on it. Still a believable story of course. Wouldn't be the first (alleged) gay man to use it in a slur.
  16. An old colleague bumped in to Jamie Langfield at the Premier League darts. Was one of the first years they were at the old AECC. Asked if he could get a photo with his mate. Clangers told him it was no bother with that big toothy grin. Upon being handed the phone he exclaimed 'you want me to take a photo of you two?". When he was told that was their intention he handed back the phone, shook his head and told them where to go.
  17. Aye. Had a quick gander at his twitter and some of his likes were enough to bring my supper back up.
  18. Nope. Said someone had a go at him for being bleezing.
  19. Who said players shouldn't go out for a drink? A strange angle you've taken here.
