  1. McCowans work rate is far better than Stewarts was. Stewart was a magician at times for us so I'm loathed to try and say which one is better. What I would say is the similarities between the two are crazy. McCowan in my opinion is captain material and that is what separates him from Stewart.
  2. This is all 100% spot on. Bakayoko did well for us, though his final pass at times let him down, Cameron is brilliant and Main is still not fit; he also does this really frustrating thing that when the ball is punted in the air for him to challenge the first thing he does is stare at the player he is challenging and doesn't even care where the ball is. He's just there to hassle the opponents and bring others in to the game, which I think Bakayoko does better.
  3. The premise of this is fine - but it has to come with balance. His lack of credit for the performance of Dundee and to basically suggest that we just clogged Rangers out of scoring was completely laughable. He described us as being lucky ffs. There's a balance to be struck between keeping the morale of your squad high when the tough gets going but you can't do that at the cost of delusion.
  4. Dundee got £500,000 for Greg Stewart when he was 26 back in 2016. If you're talking about a figure close to a million for McCowan, then no, we probably won't be getting that but given he's under contract and wants to sign a new one with us then we should command a similar sort of fee as Stewart.
  5. Very good performance last night again. This team just continue to impress with their work rate and patterns of play. McCowan is just a magician - having the composure on the ball of him and Cameron is so important to how we play. I just want Cameron to be a wee bit more physical. McGhee, like others have said, deserves a mention. Not been his biggest fan over the years but he is one of those that epitomises the work rate of the team. I also thought Dodgson was very good. Tiffoney is just a total pitbull - he put the fear in to the Rangers defence all night with his hassling. Costelloe when he came on...f**k me...just complete a pass mate. He could easily have been subbed back off again.
  6. Main still looked a wee bit unfit even on Saturday. I'm hoping a full pre-season and we'll have him firing. I don't know what to make of Robinson - loved him from the championship season but hasn't really had the chance this season, I don't think Docherty fancies him at all. Most likely work rate.
  7. I've been a fan of Bakayoko and would be happy to keep him. He has off games and people really focus on those bad games that he has, but generally his link up play is pretty good and he has chipped in with important goals. Not to mention the fact that Docherty likes to play with a second striker or someone just behind, Bakayoko has generally been the main striker and the partner has changed through the season. Tiffoney has been impressive since the turn of the year and I think that is the best partnership we have at the moment. It's hard in general to get a player at this level that will get you lots of goals. I'd have loved for us to get Van Veen in but Kilmarnock got in there. I actually noticed on one of the social media posts that Mellon is the same height as Bakayoko which I didn't really expect. Mellon hasn't had a consistent run of games and I'd like to see him get more minutes post-split to see if he's worth getting back from Burnley.
  8. Someone said to me a month or so ago that 3 people had been arrested. I couldn't find anything to prove that was the case - but even if it was 3 people is hardly proportionate is it?
  9. Mental but entirely not surprising. I always thought that we would get a suspended fine, like Motherwell and that would be the end of it. Terrible precedent to be set here if they try and hound us for money because of postponements. Especially when the fixture can be played. SPFL thinking: Lets charge clubs an insane amount for sub-standard technology that sub-standard referees continue to make mistakes with every weekend, lets make sure the big two get the most amount of money whilst the rest fight for scraps balancing the need to maintain their facilities whilst also putting a semi-competitive team on the pitch. Then, just then, we'll make sure that when a fixture is postponed and the big team along with the tv companies stamp their feet we will just go after the club in question. Did Rangers even get fined for their pyro nonsense earlier in the season and for the disruption that had on the game? Did they f**k.
  10. Best set of fixtures we could have hoped for in all honesty. We welcome the European push.
  11. Gutted there hasn't been more chaos. We just need to continue the hilarity by pumping them.
  12. Just giving Perth the benefit of one extra Premiership game before a long spell of absence occurs...
  13. And I'd welcome you with open arms. Best remember to bring your swimming goggles and inflatable armbands, mind you.
  14. At least you're not absolutely fucking raging about it...
  15. I had said this a few weeks back that United should do the brave move and get shot of him come end of season, a ‘thanks but cya later’. I wouldn’t trust Goodwin one bit with a budget to sign players to compete in the premiership, much like I wouldn’t have trusted Bowyer at Dundee…with hindsight of course. At the time practically every Dundee fan was thinking what are we doing? Worked out for the best in the end.
  16. And no one, except the st Johnstone weirdos, will bother one single bit.
  17. Well done to Tony Docherty and the team on top 6. Clearly some will scoff at us ‘over celebrating’, whatever that fucking means. At the start of the season I had us down as having a sneaky chance at the top 6. In reality we should have had it sewn up much sooner. That’s not a negative - that’s how good this team can be. Top 6 is done but we can definitely aim to finish the season higher, Docherty will be quietly thinking so. The manager and the club did spectacularly well over the course of the season to build a team that the fans could be proud of. The squad as a whole - not just the starting 11. One of the main things that had made us get top 6 is our ability to bounce back. Rarely, maybe never, have we had back to back losses in the league - I may be wrong on that. I love watching this team play because it just looks so coached, so deliberately put together. Plenty seasons gone by we’ve had a team that looks so disjointed. Like others have said there aren’t many I would say I would like to leave, that’s testament to what has been built here. Yes, we need to strengthen our defence come next season but who cares right now? Let’s give top 6 a right good go and see where it takes us.
  18. 2426255 the amount of times you’ve made an arse on yourself on this forum?
  19. Lets be honest...it suited both clubs to have it this week. It allowed us to get injured players back and extra time for the pitch to get up to scratch (ha) whilst also allowing a full weeks preparation for Rangers to play Celtic. I know which one the extra week would have benefitted more it and was the team that are in a title race - so they may well have pushed for it that little bit more. I think to a degree we were hedging our bets on having top 6 done and dusted last weekend to which a postponement against Rangers during the week wouldn't have mattered as much. That's just my opinion though - the club would probably say that never crossed their mind.
  20. Please for extra hilarity get this game called off. We could waterlog the pitch with tears from the Peepul.
  21. If there's ever a time to do it, it's off the back of a statement like that from Aberdeen. I will be writing to my club today to reinforce that point. Who knows, maybe we could sort our pitch out with the money we save....
  22. Won't open goal just hurry up and release something for him to watch ffs. An hour long episode will take him 5 hours to understand.
