  1. Precisely! How many times has that actually happened this season - I reckon you could count on one hand the amount of times a ref has went to the screen and stuck with his decision. Only other time I can think of in a game that involved us was the Mulligan sending off against Kilmarnock.
  2. We had missed the goal because we got to the ground late but could hear the crowd cheering for the goal. It sounded pretty subdued so I had initially thought that it was St Johnstone that had scored - maybe it was just fans not knowing what had happened ha ha! Yeah I thought they referee was pretty good to be honest. It felt like a referee who was taking control of making decisions in the game which can't be said too much nowadays.
  3. Clearly this is true. It's easy to get too carried away. The difference being is that Docherty isn't new to the managerial game - he had experience of over 750 games in the dugout before he joined us and was key to the success of Mcinnes. Our second season is arguably more important as it is another rebuild with us having so many loan players this season but it is similar to what happened with Kilmarnock last season.
  4. Yeah I'm not really getting the outrage. There's a choice in the matter, if you don't want to partake then don't. Just remember that more often than not the person's family will be there and it will be a nice gesture that they can remember. It really isn't that big of a deal..
  5. The topic has obviously been done to death on this forum now but it really does sap the energy from the game. I couldn't celebrate our second goal properly because of the sheer paranoia that they were going to find an excuse to rule it out.
  6. They're just utterly desperate to find a reason to chop off goals. A sad state of affairs.
  7. I personally thought doc making that change along with our shape won us the game.
  8. Thought he was the best player on the park if I’m honest. Wasted in that team…
  9. I’m sure he came away with the same patter in the last game and came away red faced…
  10. We won without really deserving it. Wee St Johnstone gadgies lurking the streets and looking for a fight got rightfully nicked by the polis. Minter. Grow up lads.
  11. Generally this would be the exact team that I would have out too. With exception of Mulligan in place of Cameron. The midfield of Sylla, Cameron and McCowan really clicked in the Aberdeen game and I think that is the combination that should go in to this game, with Mulligan coming on later for extra energy. I can't see him starting Mellon and Tiffoney though, I think it'll be Bakayoko and Tiffoney up front for Tiffoney to run on to second balls etc. Dodgson looked far better in his natural position too. Even if Carson is fully fit I don't think he should start as McCracken has basically done nothing wrong - his place to lose for the rest of the season.
  12. Have St Johnstone given us an extra 'block' in the main stand than usual? We have block A and B this time round with the other block in the North stand closest to the St Johnstone fans only partially opened up.
  13. They must be the ones that don't sing 'we are the Dundee haters' then.. I'm not way wide of the mark, I would objectively like United to always be in the same league as Dundee as it's a pretty boring season without having your local rivals in there for a derby. That doesn't mean I would want to see short term pain inflicted on them in the way of relegation. Any St Johnstone fan who suggests otherwise is just pretending, otherwise they need to update their songbook.
  14. I'd be surprised if Aberdeen are going all out for O'Neil having to pay compensation and all that but not going for someone like Alex Neil. Maybe they have and Neil thinks he can still get a job down South. I would tend to agree with him if that was the case.
  15. E-Ticketing being introduced as of next season. https://dundeefc.co.uk/news/future-ticketing-announcement/
  16. If Dundee were playing Aberdeen in relegation play-off, you would be desperate for Aberdeen to win - no probably about it. The banter of Aberdeen going down would be the only softener. FWIW please give Utd a 6-0 in both legs when you play them in a couple months time x
  17. Well according to previous posts the 'Dundee haters' song isn't about DFC and in fact just about Dundee in general so it should be a pretty easy decision for them to support Aberdeen no? Or maybe their only song in the book is about DFC after all..
  18. Some Utd fan on twitter made himself notorious for saying that this Utd team would comfortably get top 6 in the premiership. People still make the mistake of thinking that they are a decent side. They're really not and are proving it by making a mess of their promotion challenge. I heard Watt was on a lot, quite considerably less than the figure you're suggesting there. Either way they're paying too much for what he gives the team. Just because you have the 'finances' of a Premiership club, doesn't mean you are one. I wonder how many players at Utd would be picked up by a premiership club given the chance - I'd hazard a guess at not many.
  19. Fucking hell this thread isn't half tempting fate is it? Having said that some of the remaining fixtures look very difficult for Utd (not that it would be anything else obvously, it's exactly what the championship is!). Queens Park away, Morton away, Airdrie away and Raith at home who they haven't beaten this season...
  20. This thread has been rough going like. Separating podcasts by class and stereotype...not everyone that watches open goal is a cretin and not everyone that watches other podcasts like AVFTT is a bearded wrestling fanatic. Categorising like that says more about yourself than anyone else.
  21. The fact that Utd kept stating it is because of 'operational' reasons they cannot give more than the allocation is a clearly an attempt to save on stewarding and policing costs. Combine that with the fact that since the last game United had their backs up about Raiths social media activity it all points towards just a petty attempt at a f**k you right back. Should be able to see beyond all that nonsense though and make as much of a spectacle for this game as possible with a full crowd. You can't just come out and say 'well our situation has changed since the last game where we gave you the full stand' when there is supply and demand for tickets.
