  1. Not for me either. Great striker but didn’t treat Dundee with a lot of respect. Could say Mcpake blah blah but still needs to be professional at the end of the day. Australia re-ignited his career and he’s living the life playing there and now in India.
  2. Donnelly signing would be superb for us. He had a bad game on Saturday - but the whole team did. He has great potential and is young.
  3. There is an art to selling players at the best possible time. The last player we really done that with was Jack Hendry. Lyall Cameron won't be here forever - Dundee should always be a club that helps their youth prospects develop and help them on to a good career at a better level. If there is a good offer for Cameron this summer I wouldn't have any issue with seeing him go and continue to progress.
  4. There’s no reason why we couldn’t get Mellon back on loan, if we wanted to. I agree RE a central defender and a centre forward but I think we need an upgrade on Sylla if I’m honest. Done a job for us second part of the season but when he’s bad - he’s really bad.
  5. Maybe a reason why Docherty isn't playing him as much. Similar to Robinson and his work rate, Docherty knows what he wants and if it is to the detriment of the work ethic of the team then they don't start. I would like to see him start the next three games though - there is clearly a good striker in there and a decent chance he could end up back with us next season if things fell in to place.
  6. Would be a really solid signing I think. Competition for spots at Killie might work in our favour given Robinson will likely leave and Bakayoko still up in the air.
  7. He had 2 similar against Aberdeen at Pittodrie and was rightfully subbed by Docherty. He was really poor yesterday losing his aerial duels and doing his best to pass to the opposition. Everything Gogic was, he was not. Donnelly had a really poor game and him and Dodgson weren’t knowing when to overlap each other - in turn they just kept passing back the way. The difference with Shaughnessy missing out of the defence was palpable. I didn’t see the first goal as I was in the toilet at the time but the two other goals were laughably bad defending on our part. Not even junior level stuff. Cameron was the best of the midfield - but that was the best of a bad bunch. McCowan had a pretty awful game too. That was a game in which we missed Beck the most, our wing backs were all too happy to sit in their shape and not stretch St Mirren making the battle of midfield easy for them. As I said yesterday, overall that was very uncharacteristic of us. I can’t be too frustrated by it as all yesterday done was prove to us that we just weren’t at the level to compete for Europe this season. We’re ahead of our development as a new team and our aim next season absolutely should be consolidating top 6 again.
  8. Sore one - we were uncharacteristically shite. Second to everything and torn apart by a team in St Mirren that were just simply better. Well done to them, something to really look forward to for the next season. Just have to put your hands up and admit St Mirren are a team that are at a level we aspire to be at. Not going to get too carried away in criticism as we have exceeded our expectations this season. That was a really poor one though. Please never let me see Lamie at the centre of a back 3 ever again.
  9. Just trying to get some money back to pay the face painter. Fucking minter of a club.
  10. Seconded. 10 minute walk but worth it to get back on to kingsway without any real bother.
  11. Dundee Fc v St Mirren thread bingo: - Opening remarks of hope that this latest thread shall not be a bin fire - - Some generally sensible comments about the game and potential starting 11 - - Mention of Dundee administration(s) - - Mention of Celtic store at St Mirren ground - - Mention of Dundee being a shithole - - Mention of Weegie's - - Thread now considered to be a binfire - IF NOTHING ELSE WE ARE FUCKING CONSISTENT LADS. Thank you.
  12. He's definitely captain material I'd say. Docherty has him down as one of the most influential in the group.
  13. Superb. What was the initial allocation? Going to be a cracker with a good crowd by the looks of it.
  14. Totally agree with this. It is a totally different type of pressure that us Dundee fans haven't been accustom to for a good while. That's why I'm not really nervous about it, I suppose. Probably change on Saturday, mind you.
  15. I've watched a few of Leveins post match interviews on the BBC after a loss and if I was a St Johnstone fan I'd be raging at how little of shit he appears to have... It's no wonder that the players, though they clearly have to take a large portion of the blame, don't look up for it either.
  16. Loved him in the Championship but will trust Docherty on this one. I don't think he is happy with his work rate, which I can get. I don't think work rate or energy is something that can be coached in to you and that shows with his lack of minutes under Docherty. Think you have said for a while he's our most natural finisher at the club and I probably would agree with that but being a striker in this league has to come with so much more. In other news - Bruce Anderson has said he is leaving livi at the end of the season and that is someone I would definitely like in.
  17. His little moan he had about the Dundee player budget (like he knows anyway) was totally tedious as well. It seems as if he has old-firm levels of paranoia and thinks that everyone is out to get him and his team. As for the red card - how many times nowadays do we see a sliding tackle that the player clearly wins the ball but the follow through catches the player in a way that deems a red card? Motherwell can't have any complaints about it.
  18. Think this is going to be a belter of a game with both teams evenly matched. I'm hoping home advantage counts here and if earlier on in the season is anything to go by we have a good chance - we're a better team now. Dundee win, McCowan and Bakayoko 2-1.
  19. Put it this way....having a new manager at Liverpool coming in is going to be a big factor on whether we would see Beck back for another season. I don't really have any care for their fortunes but the new manager coming in will want to hit the ground running and for that reason, with Robertson and Tsimikas ahead of him, I can't see Beck getting much of a look in. We now have proof that if they wanted to keep him and a prospect for the future, that he will get regular game time and the chance to develop further. If January was anything to go on, though, we probably won't be the only ones looking for him either on a loan or transfer considering the old firm were sniffing around.
  20. Courier reporting it. Cameron is our best chance at getting some decent money since Jack Hendry. When he signed a deal last year how long was it for? We need to safeguard ourselves as much as possible...
  21. Yeah that's a good point to be fair. I suppose my 'free-hit' accommodated for not shipping loads of goals.
  22. Both teams hitting form at the right time of the season, this one will be a lot harder fought than other games this season but I still expect a Celtic win unfortunately. These games are free hits for us. I'd like us to start with a formation and line up that similar to the Rangers game but I think we may go back to a 3-5-2. Rangers punted it long constantly so there was no need to congest the midfield where I think we need to do that in this game. Tiffoney and Bakayoko up front as normal.
  23. Bakayoko staying on with us is a great addition in my opinion. Someone posted earlier saying they think Bakayoko is one of our most underrated players and I completely agree - think I've said continuously that I don't understand the dislike a lot of our fans have for him. There hasn't been many examples of us being a better team when he's not on the pitch. I do think Main will be better with a full pre-season. For now, though, the partnership that has been the best has been Bakayoko + Tiffoney. I would like to say these final few games are a tester for players like Pineda and Robinson to prove their worth...but there is too much hanging on them with us chasing a European spot. Players like Robertson and Sharp aren't good enough for Dundee and that has been clear to me for a long time, as harsh as it seems. Robertson is a tidy wee player but we might as well accept that players like him and Sharp need to move on so as not to stifle their careers. If Donnelly is available to sign then we simply need to do it, he's got a bright future ahead of him. Same with McCracken.
  24. The rest of us can't enjoy a drink at the game because of these muppets. Sectarian bile that just gets passed off as banter at the football by the powers that be. It really is a further kick in the stones when their fans do what they did last year with pyro and get away with it. Two wrongs don't make a right and our pitch has been a minter this season but the double standards by these gimps that pander to the old firm is incredible. Always hit the easy target first.
