Labour are aiming to end austerity.

The SNP plans mean permanent austerity.

You really are trying out anti-independence slogans for next time, aren't you?

The damage to Labour for standing side by side with the Tories last time is becoming clearer every day. Well, that and every pronouncement surrounding Brexit as they "co-operate" with May's strong and stable government.

About on par with the Inverness Courier.

Spooky - reading this just as BBC 4 are playing The Smiths, Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now. Lighten up, surely good news but hardly likely to be a big spread in The Herald. Or Inverness Courier.

  3. I've no problem with Denholm coming back.  He's a fine player with plenty to offer any team. Clearly it'll depend on him being available and wanting to come back as well as him fitting into the style of play and shape that JW is trying to build. Will be interesting to see just how things work out for next season. But let's get this season settled first. A strong performance and convincing win at Stenhousemuir will do for starters.

No SNP voice on Sophie Ridge or Marr.  Again.

Probably partly due to any SNP spokesperson completely destroying Ridge or Marr's attempts to remain in control of the discussion. Also wouldn't be surprised if the programme researchers know absolutely hee-haw about Scottish politics.

If Jim wants some hunger and desire then start the young guns, i am expecting at least 3 changes next Saturday.

That was a telling interview. His disappointment in the team was obvious and it just about covered up his anger. Wouldn't have liked to have been on the receiving end of his post'game talk.

Yes, at the very least three changes. Not one out-field player should feel his place is guaranteed next week.

  6. I've been impressed with what JW is doing with the team. There seems to be a good team spirit - during the warm-up the guys look as if they're enjoying being part of the Forfar. Even the subs warm up looked to be fun. There's a solid defence with Travis  (well, sometimes although I thought his covering was excellent today). I wonder if Irvine's role is to steady the ship?

If Reilly and Easton do leave, and I'm not sure they will, any replacements will tell us the Club's ambition because they will have to be at least as good as those guys.

I'm looking on the positive way ahead.

  7. Huw Edwards, the BBC newsreader, isn't Welsh at all. Hugh is from Peckham but studied drama and literature at Sheffield University where he found out he was good at accents. He sent in a demo tape to the BBC Regional Outreach programme in his now-trademark Welsh lilt and being offered a job felt obliged to keep the accent.

I'll eat my slippers if Easton signed for Kelty. More money maybe, but shirley , he can't think this would be any good for the boy.  The money is not going to change his lifestyle.

I certainly don't want to see him go. The worrying thing is that this rumour about him leaving has been doing the rounds for good few weeks. Clarity needed by the Forfar management, I say.

We have pre-contracts signed with 5 players (one of which is Danny Ashe from East Stirling).  Are these guys mentioned out of contract?  Easton would be a stand out in the lowland league but I have no idea if he is one of the other 4 we have signed up.

To be honest, I don't know about the contract status of our guys.

It'll be interesting to see who signed along with Ashe. Totally agree Easton would be a stand out.

  10. Kelty seem to have a fairly slick operation going on. There's certainly money available for the manager to spend so I'd expect some well known faces joining their ranks for next season. Just hope it isn't our lads but if they are going I'd be hoping for JW to have some equally good, but hopefully better, replacements. Maybe Kelty are just checking out a number of teams to see who is willing/available to move.

Capital will always be loyal to the larger market. If the UK government opposses independence then business will follow their line.

Surely an indy Scotland in the EU would be the larger market than an rUK running around like headless chickens trying to get trade deals one at a time?

    Ridiculous aye?

If she spent more time focusing on the day job instead of Tweeting all manner of pish and then undermining the British Government at every opportunity regarding Brexit then we might just get our independence sooner rather than later

Tweeting pish like this, eh? Pretty focused on the day job, I'd say -

"Tonight, 12 of the 27 EU member states that will decide the UK’s future have populations smaller than or similar in size to Scotland’s. If we become independent we get to sit at that table - enjoying the same solidarity shown to Ireland - instead of being sidelined by Westminster"
