  1. I think there are wee quirks like that even in OOC deals these days. You can negotiate the compensation down, for add ons.....I THINK. Was there not something similar in Campbell's deal for Luton. I could be miles off it.
  2. credit where credit is due, I know it ultimately boils down to the player wanting to stay but convincing him Fir park is the best place for his development is good going.
  3. I could not agree more re the lack of rectifying the centre of Defence. I thought that should have been priority number one in January, Regardless of how many centre backs we had signed. I do disagree with us being terrible to watch though. Don't get me wrong I wouldn't say we are good to watch, cause that implies consistently good, and whilst we have been a very tough watch at times, I think middle to front we can be very easy on the eye. I think the goal of the season reel in may will be a corker. Anyway, my piece on Kettlewell, Job seems done this season. If he can sort out the defence, which I probably trust him with on the basis he has made more good signings than bad (I think) then excellent. We as a club need the stability given everyone over his head doesn't have a clue what's going on right now. The Bair, Moses Davor trio is something I've bought into for next season.
  4. I wonder if that is who he co-founded the company for fantasy football games with? @capt_oats the more i'd read into him the more I leaned away from the documentary idea.
  5. Nae idea, good job he doesn't work there if they are though. Got his own company now called Wild sheep content. he appears to have been been a co founder in a company that developed fantasy football style games for major media companies, which i suppose could be very profitable in the US as well.
  6. some googling flung up this; Netflix pays its employees 25% to 50% more than competitors, with entry-level coordinators making six figures and vice presidents earning a minimum of $1 million, sources told the Hollywood Reporter. also a mention of 5% stock included as well, Netlfix is worth 272 billion, so no idea what equates too.
  7. This guys plan is to basically do a Wrexham isn't it. Fire out a fly on the wall Netflix Documentary and hope it takes off in the same fashion. Every report i've read refers to it as a Scottish Wrexham. Does anyone have the slightest idea how much this guy is worth?
  8. That was me. And whilst I do firmly believe it was a total fluke we got him, I totally agree that the club are due a lot of credit for making it happen. He looks as though he could go on to have a very very good career at a top level, and it will be one of those where folk are like mind when Biereth was at Motherwell. Like Aaron Mooy at St Mirren, just a lot better.
  9. That is very true. I understand that point, I think that is where I am coming from though with the 'stripping it back to the basics' Before VAR was introduced, things were missed, it was human error and fans can eventually accept it, which I think is a far more healthy position to be in that the one we are currently in.
  10. Was VAR not brought in with the understanding that games wouldn't be re-refereed? again, I don't have any right or wrong answers, it's not my job. VAR over analyses every decision, could we strip it back to the basics, and let the referee and his officials deal with the rest of the game. Would I want rid, absolutely, I just can't see it happening.
  11. Yeah, as mentioned, my only issue with offside is the length of time it takes, even clear offsides are taking minutes. But you can't argue with the technology, user error aside, it is correct 100% of the time. on the other point, 'just get rid' whilst I 100% agree with that, and all your other points re matchday experience, making the game worse etc, I think it's fantasy land stuff. So coming up with ways to improve the use of it and ultimately get it working in a way, that supporters and clubs are accepting off, Happy probably to strong a word. I have no idea if it would be possible (someone somewhere must know) if there is a good v bad type stat, which is very subjective from club to club obviously. I'd be over the moon to be proven wrong, I just can't see how the League/clubs would invest X amount and bin it so quickly.
  12. On the whole VAR chat, and how long it takes to come to a decision, could you put in some sort of limit. Say 30 seconds? If a decision is clear and obvious, you will see that within 30 seconds. Watching the same thing, multiple times, from multiple angles really boils down to the referee not having a clue. A reasonable time limit surely takes away a lot of the things the fans hate, ie time taken to get the game restarted, Games being re-refereed etc, i suppose it gives the referee the chance to see it once more and to make a decision, as opposed to freeze frames, slo mo replays and the likes The offside one is difficult, as far as I am aware, it is the one thing the system gets 100% right all of the time, albeit I have certainly debated a few. And as we seen in the Prem, it still comes down to officials not making a pigs ear of it. But 2-3 minute delays to draw lines when we are really talking toe nails surely isn't the answer, saying that, I don't know what the answer is.
  13. I see that's Brighton and Brentford now looking to jump on the bandwagon of buying to Scottish Clubs, Both looking at Dundee Utd. On the face of it, that is probably two teams you wouldn't mind chipping in, from the outside, seem well run.
  14. Am I missing something Re Nicholson, is he not only on a 6 month deal? or are we assuming he will extend? fwiw, quite keen to see Moses as well.
  15. i picked up that half and half kit in a chairty shop for a tenner about a year ago, along with the motorola xara away top for another tenner. my first top though was the home top from the same season, still got it.
  16. I thought he looked pretty decent albeit against Elgin City. But west of Scotland league is quite a drop, especially for someone at 19. Might just be me, and it is actually a good move, time will tell
  17. I also totally forgot Odense went down to 9 men, albeit late on according to the report. I vaguely remember Blackman missing an absolute sitter as well.
  18. Just seen this on twitter, be a laugh at least. 𝐁𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 | Dennis Bergkamp, Dirk Kuyt, Henrik Larsson, Ronald Koeman are looking to BUY a club in England! The aim is a League One/Two club at this point. Larsson wants to be head coach, Bergkamp will set up the academy, whilst Koeman will also have a role somewhere. They are working with agent Rob Jansen who confirmed the news to podcast 'Keift Janson Egmond Gjip'!
  19. Just seen @crazylegsjoe_mfc response as well, which isn't actually something I'd considered with his agent touting him to the full of Europe, which kind of makes sense. Cause like everyone, Italy looked like the perfect fit.
  20. I am sure I've said similar in the past, for all the apparent interest in him, the only two acceptable offers we received were Celtic and Norwich, from memory. If you asked me then who I'd have chosen, Celtic is an absolute no brainer, going for 10, European football, staying close to your family v Norwich reserves which is where I am sure he was told he would start. I think Turnbull was unfortunate as well with the timing, the success of Scots in Italy came maybe 6 months later, Hickey, Doig, Ferguson. Now more often or not, when a young Scottish player comes through there seem's to be genuine interest from the continent off the back of the success of the one's mentioned above, Max getting his move to Austria, albeit slightly different as he was OOC, but 3-4 years ago I doubt that's a move that would have happened.
  21. whilst I totally agree with the general point, that isn't down to the additional subs, five subs but only on three occasions. unless you mean that being able to change nearly 50% of the 22 on the field then i'll wrap it and agree with the full point.
  22. To be honest, I can go along with this. I donate a 5er a month, it's gone before it even hits the bank. The only reason I actually donate is because I missed out a ticket to St Mirren away in the Scottish cup a few years ago (before the 4-4 replay) and tickets went on sale to ST holders and Society memeber's, and I was Season ticketless at the time. I am fortunate enough that I could up that payment so if something like that was to happen, chances are I would but I kind of selfishly just haven't bothered my arse to this point. Has there ever been a campaign of this sort?
