  1. I kind of thought about that as well, give him a run out at fir park against st johnstone or Livi last day of the season, be a good send off for a motherwell fan running out at fir park before he bags us 400k.
  2. Completely agree, I remember when Erwin went to Leeds i thought much the same for him, the difference here is Mckinstry has never experienced first team football, where as Erwin had and was now going to play reserve football which was only going to stall his development whereas Mckinstry is very much continuing his development at Leeds. I believe he's quite got quite a sensible network as well behind him.
  3. In fairness to that list the only signing we made that i thought would deliver a spark was ciftci, and he delivered occasionally, Hamilton last day of the season for example he was unplayable. The rest I was very meh about from the get go. Twarzdik done okay, Fisher missed a good few chances pre season and one against rangers and was as good as done after that, seems to have kicked on at yeovil right enough, as for the rest they were only ever going to be squad players, nothing more.
  4. Is Liam Brown injured, doesn't seem to have been in reserve squads?
  5. Good on Killie, I take it fans with season tickets in the Moffat stand pay a lesser rate cause they don't get old firm games? anyway, my point, would it not have been an idea to reduce prices for all three (or four) stands, Given Killie now have the chance to fill three stands, reduced prices throughout would have went a long way to making this happen as opposed to a normal attendance with a few hundred extra that are there cause it is last day of the season?
  6. Aldred will be a huge loss but everything i've seen, read, heard about Gallagher leaves me in no doubt he will be a very able replacement. We know he can cut in our league so its relatively risk free as well, so although Aldred will be a loss, we have sorted it out early, with our main target which is a positive.
  7. As you have above, the majority of signings have come from clubs in the north of England. Do you reckon this has anything to do with Robinson's philosophy of bringing in the right characters, people who can relate to the town, the fans, similar to what Grimshaw mentions in his video about motherwell and the town just getting a hold of you cause he comes from a similar background. As opposed to guys who have spent there whole career in and around London and the south of england.
  8. personally, the hype the fans have over Semple comes from when he was on trial with sunderland and on the radar of liveprool, spurs, everton etc at a young age, and more recently the fact he seems to be pinging in belters and has been made captain of the reserves adds to the hype I suppose.
  9. I cant say i know a huge deal about fane but i can certainly see why he would appeal to us if indeed mchugh is away and gorrin as well not sure where he will be. He seems the sort we would go for, trying to get his career back on track. I believehis contract was ripped up due to a disagreement with that maniac chairman at oldham as opposed anything football related.
  10. I would love Hastie to stay, but is holding on to Gorrin equally if not more important? No denying what Hastie brings to the team but the balance we have right now in the middle with Campbell Gorrin and Turnbull is crucial to how we play.
  11. You can definitely see why the MLS is an attractive proposition, if that money is being flung about then ever more so. The lifestyle, the opportunity to travel america and play in some incredible stadiums, atlantas being one. playing in front of 50,000 plus fans most weeks in a league that is definitely on the rise. young players are being recognised as well, Jack Marriot going to man city, Miguel Almiron to Newcastle and there was another guy signed for Bayern Munich. 2-3 years ago development wise it would have been a bad move, not so much now.
  12. How's Broque Watson getting on? We could have a Jake Hastie shaped hole to fill in the summer.
  13. POTY wise, I voted for Gillespie as player of the year, and Turnbull young Player although Turnbull could quite easily take both awards. Aldred won't be far behind either. Gillespie has been class since he came in.
  14. i'm a huge fan of Cadden, but I don't think I would be dropping Grimshaw to shoehorn him back into the side. dare say Grimshaw offers us more in that position that cadden did?
  15. I don't think Hastie will be going anywhere, however you mention championship clubs not signing him off the back of a good month. Much more to it than that, with the type of player he is, with raw strength and pace is VERY coachable. You also need to take into account the outlay for the club, Hastie would almost be a no loss situation, the compensation and his wages will be pennies for a club in england, who pay millions in transfer fees and 10k plus a week on most players. if it works excellent, if not they will loan him out til his contract runs down.
