Only just catching up with this... hardly surprising tbh. Sums up the type of people running these clubs and anyone who thinks more out of the box is chased away by these little hard men. Nothing will change because no one with another opinion is welcome into “their” (not the community’s) wee clubs.
With the exception of Harthill, the other clubs looking to go west are only doing so to save face after all the shouting and lies that they have spread to date. The travelling to Gala is one that’s nearly as delusional as £250k toilets

Rubbish... nothing to do with the Tayside teams! It’s more to do with certain “we would rather go amateur than join the EoS” types running these clubs. Not a care about what’s best of their village/town, it’s all about them and their egos

I'd be delighted to see Bonnyrigg, Pollok, the Broch, Tranent et cetera playing at national level. I think folk do the league two teams a bit of a disservice though. Of the ten, four of them have been in the second tier since the formation of the SPL, three have only been elected/promoted to the national leagues this century, Queen's Park are full time and have paid incredible service to the game. Then there's Stenny and Albion Rovers.
It's obvious a system should be put into place to enable clubs to fulfil their potential, it removes friction from the machine, it runs smoother as a result, and removes anomalies.
I'm the opposite of people who advocate Leagues one and two regionalising. Plot the finances of Scottish clubs and you'd get something close to exponential. That's why small leagues at the top end are a good idea. However, there's really not much difference between club 30 and club 70. I'd propose expanding leagues one and two to eighteen clubs once the LL, HL and former juniors are close to finding their appropriate place in the pecking order. It'd give more variety of opposition, improve fluidity due to fewer bottlenecks and more promotion/relegation, remove the supposed existential threat to the likes of Cowden and Stenny, help solve the Highland League's issue with disparity and allow an extra further sixteen clubs to play at the national level which they're clearly capable of.Totally agree but try posting this on Fitba North and see the reaction you’ll get there... never going to happen unfortunately

Derbies at Greenlaw can always be tasty with decent crowds.

Having played Border amateur when I was young (15-16), playing for any of the EoS teams was a big deal. Whether it was VoL, Coldstream, or even Kelso/Eyemouth at the time. It didn’t matter where they were in the table, it was always the next step. Which is probably why Fairydean got such a hard time when they only had players from Edinburgh and the Lothians.
There will always have young local players willing to play and show their talents on a decent stage.
Hopefully Newky is right and now they have the floodlight situation under control, they can add a couple of more experienced heads to help these boys produce their best and make sure VoL can compete at a decent level (LL or EoS Prem) for years to come. They deserve it

Dundee clubs saying they are in no mans land cos the HL doesn’t want them is nonsense. They’ve sat with theyre heads up their arse hoping someone would force them into LL catchment rather than engaging with the HL to sort a solution, they already play in a cup with clubs in the NRSJFA so this bleating on about being hard done by is pish.

I’ve been working all summer with minimal protection around loads of different work colleagues in an enclosed space, so I have been totally switched off from all the propaganda. Although according to the government and the good dentist, we should all be dead by now... but there’s not been even a single case among us!
With the lack of being able to play or even watch football, see my friends or family and generally get out the house every weekend, I’ve not been in the best frame of mind which is why I haven’t posted on here for months. So this has been building...
Even if it HAS gone through us all at work, no one has been bad enough to take more then a couple of days off or bothered about getting tested, and we certainly haven’t been stupid enough to download the tracking app on our phone so the government can randomly tell us to take 2 weeks off work unpaid for no reason.
Yes, I have been very careful around certain people who are vulnerable, I have not seen my best mate or certain family members since March and that is really affecting me too! But I like to think I’m a mature adult who can make these decisions myself without the government ramming their agenda down my throat with these hysterical adverts and news bulletins. As for my mental health, I suppose I’ll manage... there’s a lot of people in a worse position than me who desperately need help right now, and for what?! We have all been played like banjo’s and more people are losing there life’s (mentally, financially and literally) over the “protection” rather than the disease itself!

Back to the original question, “Has Covid Killed The Banter”.
From what I can see it’s the only thing under 50 that it’s killed. Yet we are all sitting in our houses all weekend bickering about whether the entire football season should be scrapped. While 100’s of local businesses are going bust and people are losing their livelihoods every single day. Let’s think about that for a second... I’m sure I’ll get torn apart by the fear-mongers who believe this is all justified though!

That was down to the video referee not paying attention or doing his job properly. He is CLEARLY asked on more than one occasion to stop the clock and spent about 20-30 seconds playing with himself before stopping it and not knowing how to put it back. Total shambles
