The cup organisers are the leagues themselves, it's a collaborative effort.
So would it not fall on them to make sure the subsidies remained the same? I’m just playing dr il advocate... I’ve always loved the SCC ever since it was the old qualifying cup. Can’t wait to see next season's competition with these new teams, I just hope they make it a success

I wonder if the travel subsidies will remain at the same levels with 67 new clubs, and a large increase in ties.

Can we get back to ‘trees in Iceland‘ and ‘farts’ again please?

I would imagine Eyemouth would be seeded as the bottom EoS club as they still retained their membership

So no chance of Thornton vs Glenrothes? Will just have to wait for a favourable cup draw then

Which is why it’s a good thing we have a boundary in Scotland. Dundee to the North is hardly the other side of the world...

Teams swap between leagues down there.
I’m not suggesting we copy them, I’m just saying that the travel in the North section is considerably more than travelling from Dundee to Morayshire (using this area as an average to the whole area, although the majority of the games will be around Aberdeen)

Scotland's geography doesn't lend itself to easily and evenly split N/S leagues.
Either does England with their National Leagues North and South but their clubs seem to get on with it with no song and dance...

They were struggling to raise a team most of last season. Pretty sure they had to forfeit a game or 2 due to lack of numbers. Hopefully the boys that want to play get hooked up to the other clubs around them locally. Of course, with Whitehill Welfare coming back into this league, that’s around another 20 players off the market and there was already a lot of teams active in that area

Agreed, I liked the idea of promotions without relegations this year. Even 14-10-10-10 would have been fine. But the SPFL is ferrets-in-a-sack club now.
Even if by temporary, it meant 4-6 years rather than potentially 3 teams dropping straight out of the SPFL after just one year, with a plan to even use average points over 2 seasons to determine who dropped down, and making the LL/HL playoffs every 2 years until the leagues settle back down as the compromise to allowing Brora and Kelty straight up...
This would’ve gave a chance to get to a proper agreement to a much more fluid system and plenty of time for clubs to adapt

While it sucks out loud, if there's no reconstruction then I don't blame the SPFL for not having a pyramid play-off this season. None of the other play-offs are taking place and any play-offs would have to take place immediately before the new season begins. it's not realistic for clubs not to know what league they'll be in a week before the league season starts.
Yes this is very true, playoffs were never going to happen and rightly so.
Which is why there should have been (at least a temporary) expansion of the leagues

Two prominent West Lothian clubs who decided to stick to Junior football next season have already advertised for new Managers. Coincidence or were they going to leave in any case?
Can’t find players that want to play in that league maybe?
It quite obvious the vast majority of PLAYERS want to play in the main system, it’s only the committees and some fans who still think they are a big pull. If players had the choice, they’d play at any level of the EoS or WoS before playing in that league

The other thing is why not have clubs doing live streaming of games? There's always been supporters and followers who don't go to games - for all sorts of reasons. Why not try to use what's happened to advantage and, at least, make it easier for these people to join in from home? Helps to buy into your local community and supports advertisers.
100% this!
Clubs should be using this downtime to be exploring new concepts. I doubt it will even affect crowds at all but will give them a massive opportunity to expand the club name and also great for sponsors. Some sort of pay-per-view platform so clubs can assess footfall and make decisions on the future based on concrete numbers. It will also attract a new generation of supporters, even giving them a say in MotM decisions and a place for everyone to get together as a club to debate future ideas

I would think a Tayside league would be feasible, they're about 30 miles from both Blairgowie and Coupar Angus, albeit, travel up and down the A9 might be easier than cross-country. They're going to be outliers in whatever division they play, realistically.
Although, from the perspective of Highland League clubs, they're not that much out of the way for the Shire teams compared to Fort William, Brora and Wick...
I can see where you are coming from with the Tayside league (if it ever materialises), just seems crazy that they will be driving past 3 EoS teams to play in Dundee every fortnight as it’ll be easier to travel through Perth and across to Dundee/Angus.
Going north, their nearest rivals would be Spey Valley... 87 miles and over an hour n a half away.

I've been there as well, decent ground. The people I spoke to over there reckon the only reason they got turned down was clubs not fancying the travel up to Aberfeldy.
Aberfeldy is a tricky one... Where would you put them if they wanted to join the pyramid system?
They are technically NORTH of the ‘line’ but not going to fancy a Aberdeenshire or Tayside league, or NCL.
I would suggest the EoS based to being a Perthshire team and the precedent set by the 2 Perth teams and Luncarty already. Starting in a EoS North division possibly... but if promoted, I can imagine small teams from East Lothian and The Borders being concerned about the cost/time of travelling.

Seems to be Kennoway's U17s
That was just their first team the last time I saw them!
Great club though, hope they keep the majority of the young lads together and grow together. Potentially a very tidy footballing team in the making... and a proper ground with a traditional Scottish slope to boot

That's why the pavilion at Fernieside has a sign saying "Edinburgh South FC" on it then.
Some industrious vandals in that area
Craigour actually
Think there’s always been planning issues there with the locals and access though (where else would their dugs go to shit?!), hence why Tynecastle/Tollcross had to move away.

Much like I said in a tweet which you just liked - Deluded. Blinkered. Embarrassing.
He’s a bitter, bitter man and given a fair chance just spat out an absolute pile of nonsense and nothing’s.He’s not the only one, Mr Parks get far too much airtime spreading unsubstantiated claims of what it means for clubs joining the pyramid.
Yes, it’s not perfect... far from it at the moment. But with people still believing that floodlights are needed to join tier 6-8 and the SPFL being rotten to the core, there is a LOT of work to be done. Non-league, community (whatever you choose to call them) clubs fighting amongst themselves is not going to change things for the better though.

Another bitter red neck for Armadale.
That’s actually quite embarrassing. He gets the chance to explain his problem with the EoS setup, completely misses the target and puts it out for a throw in. Absolutely nothing meaningful said in that interview from him at all apart for the usual shout of “lies” which he doesn’t back up with ANY facts whatsoever
