  1. Is the Scottish Challenge Cup not run by the Lowland League? They've only got 16 teams and 2 Cups to look after. Kennie would have that done by breakfast... and it's these clowns that the future of Scottish international football is in the hands of
  2. Also add Bo'ness Athletic and Gartcairn to that list. You can even put a case for Drumchapel although they aren't exactly "new". All of them have brought more to the Scottish game than CB and postcast. Rothie Rovers are smashing it up in the North Juniors. Great setup and good guys who have seamlessly stepped up added something. Loch Ness... and the NCL revival. Inver-fking-gordon in the Scottish Cup! There loads of new thi gs that have happened recently that have been amazing. CB and Podcast have not been...
  3. BSC Glasgow (aka Podcast) - started claiming to be a continuation of Broomhill Sports Club and based in GLASGOW. Got up the noses of Maryhill, lost Lochburn, played out in Alloa while claiming to be "looking for a home", even though they have very good investors in high places they STILL don't play in Glasgow and are title sponsored by a podcast (which I thought was against the club naming rule) Caledonian Braves - started as Eduaport with some weird setup of French students playing for a clubs that supportors can run online. How many French players do they have? How is the online model going? See Ebbsfleet for more info on that model. Some other clubs formed around the same time... East Kilbride - meh, they are based in their town, almost and apart from voting for the colts they've been ok Edinburgh South - still ground sharing, but got a decent, local group of players and not exactly got a lot to work with Tweedmouth Rangers - own ground, amazing improvements. Took a few cricket scores till they found their feet but can be proud of what they've brought to the EoS. There's 3 clubs that have brought more to the table than CB and Podcast. Also look at Division 4 with a few new well-run clubs finding their feet there. Easterhouse have probably impressed most with their background work and setup getting Stepford turned around so quickly
  4. Bollocks. There were a few of us that defended CB and Podcast when they 1st appeared. Since then they've proven to add nothing and are only interested in getting to rub shoulders with their big teams' members
  5. Sorry should have added, if they are proudly declaring that they can/will circumvent their own voting rules to shoehorn this league in then it won't be long before "all champions" of this new tier 5 are promoted. Whether or not anyone wants it. We all know this will be the next step of the process
  6. Not if the SFA get their way. The new league will be a separate entity therefore circumventing the voting rules. They proudly state it as a "strength" of the proposal, if the proposal wasn't enough of a slap in the face for its member clubs
  7. I think it means that they are GUARANTEED to be in the bottom 2, where as it is still mathematically possible for Dalbeattie to catch Gretna. I could be wrong though
  8. You entire point falls apart here... Do you see the influx of youth when Rangers were relegated to League 2 and were apparently skint? No neither did we. They still CHOSE to go out and buy in international players on crazy wages to draw against Peterhead. So what chance do we have and would you trust them?
  9. Carnoustie and Invergordon got in last season on this rule. Although I think it's great, it wouldn't be the most terrible thing in the world if it was quietly dropped now that so many have put in the effort to get licences. It would be hilarious having Loch Ness in there just once and demanding to play it in Fortrose though
  10. I assume only real change to the cup if this plan comes to be is that any unlicensed winners at tier 6 wouldn't get in as they would essentially be bumped to tier 7
  11. They haven't released any actual details again. Only another haphazard summary then let their mates from the Daily Record fill in the blanks, and we know who pulls their strings. We've been here before, everything the Junior clubs were scared of is happening before our eyes and a lot of us are looking like dickheads for defending the Lowland League and trusting George Fraser. Proper scunnered with it now tbh, the baw is burst
  12. It's not as unlikely as it seemed last week. Invergordon don't lose silly points and Loch Ness have the occasional moment. They both still have to play the headcase that is Alness, wouldn't put it past Loch Ness to win every other game and blow the league here tbh
  13. You would be just as well asking @Jerry Macguire
  14. Didn’t think it would be that easy to find! Loch Ness still have Fort William Invergordon still have Fort William and Golspie (with Orkney and St D) but if they win them all they win, potentially by a point
  15. Have Invergordon and Loch Ness still to meet?
  16. The fact they actually think ANY Highland team will go for this shows how pathetically incompetent they are. Elgin/Peterhead will be shitting themselves if they get relegated to that pish
  17. That sounds about right, didn't take into account how old they were, you tend to assume the railway was there first! I'm doing a bit of research into the old grounds but haven't got to Edinburgh yet, just had a mental note based on what I've read before. I'm sure I have notes saved somewhere! It's definitely something that I need to look at properly then I'll try and make a new post once I eventually get it all sorted
  18. You know there might be light at the end of the tunnel if this is forced through against the wishes of the clubs. A chance for Scottish football to finally get the OF to f**k and rebuild from the bottom up. Ditch the SFA, give their refs better working condition, form a new board and start again. Will be brutal for a few years and we can kiss bye-bye to any Euro competitions, but long term it would either completely revitalise the game… and if it fails then we start again anyway! As long as we still have our clubs to support (some may be a lot smaller by then) then what is there to lose? Too many clubs have been treading water for too long and going nowhere fast and the SFA are perfectly happy with this as long as the OF are happy and can’t be challenged.
  19. That sounds very close to where Powburn would have been too. I’ll need to have a proper investigation, the gap between Ventnor Terr and the railway line looks proper tight! Unless it ran down where McLaren Road is now. There’s the old Halls of Residence across the tracks to the south, the later maps show a ground of some sort there but I had assumed that was Powburn as the burn runs under the tracks there.
  20. A selfie with a OF blazer in the committee room to show all their pals at the golf club and plaster all over their social media?
  21. Good then they can all piss off. Ironic that just as Scottish football unites, the SFA are hell bent on creating a split again
  22. So what happens when Spartans, Stirling Uni, Tranent, Buckie, Brechin and Brora all say “f**k that”?
  23. Cumnock Juniors 1-3 Auchinleck Talbot Beith Juniors 1-1 Kilwinning Rangers Kilbirnie Ladeside 2-1 Rutherglen Glencairn Maybole Juniors 4-1 Forth Wanderers Ardrossan Winton Rovers 2-2 Lanark United Harmony Row 2-3 Threave Rovers
  24. Funny that in the places that have a summer amateur league, it is more popular than the “junior” set up in the area… but when you mention switching amateur football to summer to save the dwindling numbers, the same people swear blind it’s a terrible idea and will never happen…
