  1. I’ve been working all summer with minimal protection around loads of different work colleagues in an enclosed space, so I have been totally switched off from all the propaganda. Although according to the government and the good dentist, we should all be dead by now... but there’s not been even a single case among us! With the lack of being able to play or even watch football, see my friends or family and generally get out the house every weekend, I’ve not been in the best frame of mind which is why I haven’t posted on here for months. So this has been building... Even if it HAS gone through us all at work, no one has been bad enough to take more then a couple of days off or bothered about getting tested, and we certainly haven’t been stupid enough to download the tracking app on our phone so the government can randomly tell us to take 2 weeks off work unpaid for no reason. Yes, I have been very careful around certain people who are vulnerable, I have not seen my best mate or certain family members since March and that is really affecting me too! But I like to think I’m a mature adult who can make these decisions myself without the government ramming their agenda down my throat with these hysterical adverts and news bulletins. As for my mental health, I suppose I’ll manage... there’s a lot of people in a worse position than me who desperately need help right now, and for what?! We have all been played like banjo’s and more people are losing there life’s (mentally, financially and literally) over the “protection” rather than the disease itself!
  2. Back to the original question, “Has Covid Killed The Banter”. From what I can see it’s the only thing under 50 that it’s killed. Yet we are all sitting in our houses all weekend bickering about whether the entire football season should be scrapped. While 100’s of local businesses are going bust and people are losing their livelihoods every single day. Let’s think about that for a second... I’m sure I’ll get torn apart by the fear-mongers who believe this is all justified though!
  3. He’s always been a weirdo. Best just to put him on ignore him like the rest of us have done already
  4. Awesome! That’s why I love rugby
  5. Yeah strange team all around but as long as they annoy the hooray Henry’s of rugby down there more than me while giving a couple of Scottish lads a top platform to perform on, it’s all good with me
  6. Yeah, I’ve noticed that before. Tbh I never caught much of the game today, only really got to watch the last few minutes properly. Exeter have been amazing over the last few years, really chuffed for them getting it right up the “big boys”! Not something that happens very often in rugby
  7. That was down to the video referee not paying attention or doing his job properly. He is CLEARLY asked on more than one occasion to stop the clock and spent about 20-30 seconds playing with himself before stopping it and not knowing how to put it back. Total shambles
  8. Racing should have had it buried. It’s their own fault. Unbelievable decision not to kick for the 3
  9. I'd have been kicking for 3 points to go in front when they got that penalty on the touchline. No brainer! Can’t believe they did that!
  10. Wtf have Racing just done?!
  11. Alness look to have a really decent team. Hopefully they get the job done and are safely up with the top teams again where they belong
  12. Don’t think there’s any reason to have the different leagues completely equal in numbers, due to the circumstances it would just be great to have a solution so everyone can start playing again If they do something like this and play each other twice, that’s 14-18 (24 in the most extreme case) leagues games which tbh might still be pushing it. Remember it would only be for ONE SEASON to kick a ball in slightly meaningful games this season... 13. Surely with no promotion or relegation, the travel restrictions and the lack of changing, it would’ve been the perfect chance to group the teams in regions for one season only. At least then teams could play for local bragging right and maybe a playoff between all the group winner for the ultimate champs in the summer if the restrictions have settled down by then...
  14. Stunning! Who would’ve thought? Almost brings a tear to the eye. Well done to everyone involved
  15. That’s where I saw my first Golden Eagle, right where that picture was taken from! Only just catching up with this thread, the Strontian loop off the Corran ferry is a great shout. There’s a venison place halfway round that I was always meaning to stop by that looked interesting for a munch. Applecross is getting slightly spoiled by the new influx of (insert suitable term here). Better off going further north toward Lochinver and KLB now. Is there still the Burger Van parked in the car park in Lochinver? There used to be an amazing selection of nice grub being sold from there. Also the tiny backroad towards Achiltibuie was always worth a drive for some stunning, hidden away beeches to chill at
  16. Fair point, this is why we need a bit of clarity on the process of allowing paying fans back in. I can’t see it being new year before it happens but without even knowing what the gov’s plans are towards the process then we are all just pissing in the wind at the moment
  17. Careful... I suggested this before, only to have some smart arse jump down my throat claiming I was pushing for players playing FREE for an entire season The only concern I have is if a player is asked to quarantine of 14 days through T and T after playing a game... who covers the loss in earners from their full time job? Would their usual insurance covers this?
  18. The East one from last season looked amazing. Something like the wee donders from my teenage years, Rosewell to Bonnyrigg to Dalkeith to Nitten to Easthouses... all the kick offs were walkable, almost! Was actually looking forward to going and bumping into a few mates but I probably would’ve ended up stuck in The Buccleuch in Dalkeith and missing the last game
  19. I don’t know how true it is but it’s been mentioned that contracts don’t officially start until competitive games are back on. If there’s still no crowds allow in by then, it’s up to the players themselves (and their conscience) whether they are going to demand wages from clubs when it’s a 2nd wage/cash to do a ‘job’ they are supposed to love... We are all struggling so I can’t see why it would be a huge problem for players to defer payments for a month or 2 until clubs are back on track. Again it’s not ideal but it’s non-league, part time football... any players who would rather let their club die than take a bit of the strain need to take a good look at themselves
  20. Hoose prices in Pumpgate Court have just gone though the roof... Or, £20 for just the match day package. A seat on the kitchen worktop, full use of the fridge and unlimited coffee. Someone has to do it!
  21. Don’t know what the problem is. I’ve just played 90 in the rain, 10 mins at halftime, relax the rules around subs, enough time to get together for a drink and a team talk, maybe a change of top (or a smoke behind the goals) and away again. Everyone kept warm then a quick change into fresh shorts n T-shirt for the drive home to the shower. It’s not ideal but it was finally a game of football and no one was complaining. If it’s good enough for us Ammy’s then it’s good enough for tier 6-7... also a decent amount of passerby’s stopping to watch a game (not like they are allowed to go anywhere else to see a game) and keeping their distance. As for paying refs, I’m sure if there’s no other option, between the committee and players they can stump up a few quid each to cover it. Surely players at this level aren’t too high n mighty to help their clubs out if it means getting a game on
  22. I would’ve said Speyside/Aberdeenshire for Ben Macdui. Usually start the ascent from the back of Aviemore or Braemar, up the Larghi Gru (spelling!)... but I might be wrong. Sorry for going off piste, the Tayside thing is getting boring now
