Yet another defeat without laying a glove on East Fife. We are on a horrendous run of form now. Really am finding it difficult to seeing the management team seeing out the season. Now very worried about dropping into the Highland League.

Think we're clearly the worst team in the league just now, just got to hope Bonnyrigg and Albion don't pick up too many points while getting a few ourselves. Promotion play offs are gone for us.
Totally agree. So poor to watch. Without Hesters goals this season we would be comfortably adrift at the bottom

Another shocker of a defeat albeit with 10 men. Really really poor at the moment.

Yet another meeting of the league two perennials.
Hopefully won't see Elgin score a goal like last week's, or Stirlings brace in the previous game.
Going for a convincing home win 3-0 purely through blind hope.
Wonder what price you can get on a Hester booking??
Hester booking was a certainty.
Another shocking defeat for Elgin.

Can the SFA still step in an ban him now or is that the end of it. Pleasantly surprised by that verdict i must say

Or that although he was aware his friends had placed a bet on him being booked and that they would give him money, he never then deliberately got booked..............
It reads like a 4 year old trying to lie his way out of getting a row.

Do not think the jury will buy the theory that he got booked because he is an aggressive player.

This is up on the Beeb, and doesn't make for fantastic reading. It's so disappointing, and he'll get lumped with a lengthy ban for it I'd imagine. And rightly so too.
Hester is a fantastic player, I spoke to him after he ripped us to shreds the other week and he was a really nice lad too. Humble for someone who is that good. Can't really feel anything other than a fair bit of sadness reading that he got involved with something as daft as this.

Reading that he will get a huge ban from the SFA. Does not look at all good for him.

Shane was at the game on Saturday. Could be for a number of reasons but we can hope it's because he's signing.
He was also on the Players table at Darryl Mchardys testimonial dinner on Sunday night. Think he is still quite close with most of the lads.

A manager out of ideas, a squad stale and out of ideas. Our best player/goalscorer possibly played his last game for the club. Are the board not seeing any of this? I genuinely try and stay positive and try and see the bigger picture but there is only one place we are heading if nothing changes....wick away on a cold Wednesday night
It is depressing to watch. Especially at BB. That last 2 games against Stranraer & Bonnyrigg are possibly 2 of the worst games i have ever seen. Awful. Just long looping hopeful punts up the park the whole game.

He has talked to a few teams I heard over the years. Should get a decent fee for him if he moves. No where good enough for Championship but fair chance Cove will be League 1 next year. Possible Shane Sutherland will return next year to replace him during a ban or if he moves on?
If Shane did come back i wonder if 6 spells at one club would be some sort of record lol

Isn't jail time a possibility here if he is found guilty?
Could well be. Quite a lot of winnings came from the bets on him.

Would it be an instantaneous ban do you think?
Almost certainly. Been nearly 4 years since the incident happened. Would think the league will be keen to get closure on it

Is indeed. Not found guilty yet but he is tied to the club for a couple more years so thought ott to say maybe his last game in an Elgin shirt.
As soon as whatever ban he gets is up he will be snapped up by another team. Only reason he is still at Elgin is because this was hanging over him. Heard yesterday that there has already been talks between him and Cove to go there.

Where’s he going?
A very large ban coming up for him i would think. Followed by the other 5 players we then have to get bans for betting offences after his case is done. Worrying times

Highland League beckons if games like today continue. Horrific. Kane Hesters court case this week means we might have seen the last of him in black and white

What's the script with Hester is he signed up again with you lads for next year?
I believe he has signed an extension. Price said that in his interview after the game yesterday. Was quite surprised by that news too be honest.

never has been much push for ambition in the club i admire peterhead even though they've just reached league one they've had a bit of ambition and to me some of the players in the club dare i say just dont seem hungry enough maybe its due to when we started losing and going down the table and lacked confidence but still it seems to gone a bit stale so im hopeing to win the euromillions next week and il be the daddy o elgin city
I have noticed that about the hunger aswell. That is arguably the most worrying this about this season. Ended up in complete apathy.
Also thought it was pretty poor that only Mathew Cooper even attempted to clap the fans yesterday in what was the last home game of the season, in which they have been very well backed and gave us virtually nothing to cheer about.

I think they have been trying to get a more local core. In previous years the wages paid to the better HL players was inflated and out of Elgin’s budget. Nowadays I think they are more affordable but a lot of them are comfy in the HL and don’t want to be travelling to Stranraer, Annan etc. Not sure there are that many good enough HL players but was disappointed when Jack Brown went to Peterhead. I thought he was ideal for Elgin. I think the nucleus is there but need 3 quality players to compliment then. The likes of Soapy needs better players to play off. We definitely need the input of some central belt players as they are generally more street wise than us northerners. Definitely a big season for Elgin next year. Another season like this and we will be in trouble.
I agree, i would like to see some highland league players making the step up. Unfortunately a weak Lossie, albeit they had a decent season doesnt offer much options to Elgin, Forres have a few but as said above they don't seem keen on the travelling involved. Sid Mackay i would imagine will have a lot of North based contacts which we could see making a difference next season. Not playing in the Under 20s league this season was a very strange one also. Was perfect for giving youth players experience.

Aberdeen is a much wealthier area, hasn’t helped the Dons though. No but that is on a larger scale. Just challenging for the league 2 title would enough after 22 years in that league.

There needs to be a big clear out from top to bottom as there is no ambition just plodding along hoping we're not the worst team and getting relageted
You are 100% right. It needs to start from the chairman. Tatters is a grafter and tries his best but we need someone with a forward thinking buisness brain in that position. Morayshire is a very wealthy area. We really need to be tapping into that more.

Think I would have a look at the players. It makes a big difference to the club financially whether they finish 7th 8th or 9th but not the players, they get paid all the same. As far as the were concerned there was nothing to play for.
Severe lack of quality unless addressed its going to be a real struggle next season.
Totally agree. But Gavin Price is trying to tie most of that squad up again on new contracts. Players like Rabin Omar and Machedo who are nowhere near the standard required. So poor to watch them this season. At least in previous seasons if we lost a game at least we had a go. This season we lose games and play very poor style of football.

What’s happened to Hester? Surprised he didn’t start on Saturday and when he came on I thought “here we go again” but he didn’t seem interested.I believe he was carrying a knock. But since he has returned from injury he has not been the same. Although the total lack of service he receives it is no wonder he looks disinterested.

Was genuinely stunned when I seen it. Never seen such defeatist nonsense in my life. Need change from top to bottom of the club, regardless how this season pans out.
