  1. The Falkirk tunnel was really cool! Was half way through thinking it was dark as f**k and couldn't see anything, then remembered I had sunglasses on . Interesting to see that tunnel is nearly 200 years old
  2. Decided to go for a bigger run out today. The Forth-Clyde Canal between Grangemouth and Maryhill is great but this was the first time on the Union Canal between Linlithgow and the Falkirk Wheel, probably be my last. The Avon Aqueduct however is stunning but the paths are too narrow and the bridges a pain in the arse. Once lockdown is eased off I'm going to attempt Larbert to Largs and get the train back, eventually I want to see if I can manage a journey of around 200km!
  3. Aye that's what I'm using just now. Seems to be doing the job. Definitely want a cadence sensor though and something to take my heartbeat.
  4. What bike tech have guys got? Currently I don't have anything but I would like a GPS computer with a cadence sensor but no idea what to get, also don't want to break the bank for it either.
  5. You're quite lucky where you live that you're next to the canal. Canal routes are great for the simple reason they are flat. I got back into cycling at the start of Lockdown, started out with a 16k run out increasing that to 20k, I then pushed and pushed again and now I have a 26k route that I do every day at the very least. Takes me bang on an hour to do that but as others have mentioned I wouldn't get caught up on speed. 26km/h is quite slow compared to the seasoned cyclists. Try cycling to the Falkirk wheel and back, then do the Kelpies and back. Take as many breaks as you want, there's no rush. And your last point, absolutely! My knees aren't cut out for road running plus I find it incredibly boring so the bike is great, plenty of fresh air, see plenty of places, a nice escape from the house and ultimately your fitness improves. I've lost 6kg since Lockdown and despite swapping roll & bacon or Square for rice crispies and sprite for diluting juice plus reduced the off dairy milk, my food portion sizes have not changed and still eating the same stuff. Definitely get in to it. Last bit of advice and one I picked up on obly recently, make sure your saddle is at the correct height! Mines wasn't for a long time and my thighs were killing me. Sat on your saddle with your toe on the pedal you should have a slight bend at the knee, your leg should be straight with your heel on the peddle. What a difference that made!!
  6. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/52592567 Looks like it! Bring on the Thistle and our Bitches Falkirk!
  7. Some of the one liners from these are magnificent The boxing one is a classic! I normally use knifes but my face is known to the polis. I want to batter a bit better
  8. If anyone's bored out their heads on Furlough Friday, here's a wee gem from the 90's. The Paisley Tapes!
  9. Congratulations guys, easily the best team in the league in my opinion. All the best next season when it eventually comes
  10. That's some population plan your family has! There was me thinking my auld man was a populater (8 weans to 5 mums and 12 grandchildren)
  11. Even going out for a cycle I can have their songs in my head
  12. The blonde one was bounce patrol is a total wid. The dark headed burd who's always pregnant as well! My daughter absolutely loves Bounce Patrol. To be fair they are really good at what they do!
  13. Haha aye she does exactly that! Moving her wee hands about trying to explain something
  14. Cracking age mate, my daughter is also 21 months old, 22 months next week. Honestly today alone I have no idea how many times I was in stitches with how funny she is
  15. To be fair, shawfield acts the same in real life as he does online. Whereas you come across as decent in real life but a complete c**t online.
  16. Honestly mate, it took my wife 90 minutes to get her to sleep tonight, 90 minutes later and she was up again and now in our bed so I look forward to randomly getting booted in the head at 4am with her big smile then in my face shouting "funny!"
  17. Hanging the players out to dry like that is just fucking ridiculous!
  18. That's class! Glad to see you're all well I think my daughter has the same pink snowsuit! So cute
  19. Just looking back on my pictures. Here is my proud big brother son holding his 6 hour old sister, thankfully that bond has grown and here is them last week! She lovingly calls him Bam Bam and its a shame as she misses him when he's not here, each morning she gets up and goes to his bedroom door! Looking forward to getting the wee man back here tomorrow for the week
  20. Aye I stayed close to her but it was a long labour! She was induced mind you as we had regular scans due to a low PAP PA reading (something like that) so they thought she would stop growing inside the womb after so long but the scans didn't show anything to be alarmed at so the doctor made a decision to induce a week early whilst the going was still good. Tell you what, growing isn't an issue for her now! The 2 grandads who look after her during the week when we're at work are going to be shocked when they see how much she's sprouted during this lock down!
  21. The one thing I remember is holding wee Juliana looking into her eyes and saying to my wife how crazy it is to fall in love with someone so quickly! Now 21 months on she's a wee monkey currently running about the livingroom with my laser measure that she managed to find (again!)
  22. Ahh that's brilliant mate! It's definitely an indifferent time right now, a lad I know is dreading the thought of not being there for the birth as FV Royal were considering banning partners from being present for obvious reasons
  23. Seems like a nightmare Ross but if its any help, the docs and nurses I'm sure have all this in good hand. Before Juliana was born the doctor asked me if I wanted to tell the gender, so I had this whole joke ready for the birth where I'd be saying "they don't know what they are until they're older" but with us going from 1 midwife and a doctor to 5 midwifes and 3 doctors, one of which was the top boy and forceps etc being used and then when they eventually got her out, there was no noise or f**k all, I thought she was a still born so safe to say that joke went right out the window when the doc held her up and asked me to tell the gender! Thankfully she was cleaned up quick enough and the rubbed her about enough so she'd have a reaction and then we got the wee cry. After about 30 mins of them trying to heat her up a wee bit I finally got to hold her for an hour before my wife could eventually hold her. My first, he popped out and all good in the world. Judging by stories on here, all births are different, it's a traumatic entrance into the world! Though the experiences of Ruggys misses (sorry I can't remember her name) is absolutely nuts and it's a delight to hear how they've come through everything!
  24. You've obviously never met my Daughter who seems to think that sleep is overrated
