Thistle sign Cammy Smith on a two year deal.

Pain wise, losing the play off final to Livingston resulting in our relegation and downwards spiral is hard to top. General thumping wise, losing 5-1 to Morton in 2018. Playing some of our worst football I have ever seen as a Thistle fan at this point in that season and this result summed us up at the time.

Apparently we are linked with Cammy Smith.

I thought he looked like he had something about him on the few occasions he did play. Still only 19 so has time on his side, hopefully he can develop into a decent player for you. Wish him the best.

We played in our light blue away top in 2015/16 against Motherwell at home when they had a brown away top. You may be thinking of that.

Apparently we are linked with Kai Kennedy on loan from Rangers. Seems to be well regarded from his spells at ICT and Raith, I’d take him.

Squad number wise Turner has been confirmed a 6, Tiffoney as 7 and MacIver as 19. No confirmed number for Holt as of yet mate.

Yeah I didn’t predict them to get play offs, I didn’t think they would have a bad season either as I put them in 6th. I thought Montrose would be in with a chance of play offs, but they did better than I thought finishing 4th and almost talking Morton to penalties, which is a real shame you didn’t get a shot at. Hopefully next season.

It might not be popular to say but in my opinion Penrice is very harshly treated on here. For me I’d happily have him back next season in the Championship, although it does appear to be that he is signing for Livingston.

Williamson should be a good signing for you, he has already won League One twice so knows the league. As mentioned he can sometimes be slightly shaky defensively but is a real asset going forward. Should get assists for you. If you play a back five with wing backs I think that style suits him best with a bit extra cover behind him for him to bomb forward and join that attack.

McCall saying in the interview released yesterday he believes we are three or four short of the squad he wants and these signings should be ones to excite the fans. He is looking for another striker. And hopefully another player will be brought in this week “one the fans will be quite happy with”.

Aye you’re right to be fair. I never expected Falkirk to finish outside the playoffs, I didn’t see them collapsing the way they did. Peterhead were just better than I expected so fair play to them.

Thought it would be interesting to look at myself and others pre season predictions now the league has been over for a bit. The thread has been lost in the midst of time for a while. I managed to get a grand total of three correct predictions which isn’t amazing. No idea if anyone was going to keep track of these at the end of the season to see who had won.

Thistle signed Kevin Holt from Ermis Aradippou.

I definitely won’t be saying we are going to waltz into the play offs. I said in my first post it is going to be a very competitive league. Given we will have one of the larger budgets next season and hopefully can use the momentum of winning League One to boost us, then I don’t think suggesting we should be aiming for Top 4 is a crazy statement. A 4th place finish would be a good first season back up, if you look at the last few sides to come up after winning League One they have all finished in or around the top 4.

I agree, I think he would be a decent signing for next season in a impact sub roll like you mentioned. I expect us to bring in two strikers this summer, MacIver being one of them who already knows the squad and the way McCall likes to play.

We should be looking to get top 4 next season, it is going to be a very competitive league though. An exciting season ahead.

Ian McCall wins League One manager of the season.

McCall said in a new interview that Williamson left after signing a PCA. He added we could have tried to get him out of it but they opted not to. Looks like you can expect him to be announced soon then.

Disappointed with Cardle leaving, I believe he could have done a job for one more season in the Championship. You would think McCall will have someone lined up to replace Cardle. Williamson I am unsurprised at due to the talk that he was away on a PCA to Falkirk. Holt seems like a solid signing.

Bringing back Tiffoney should be one of, if not the main aim this summer. He was a huge part of our promotion. Regarding the other players you mentioned Lyons will likely stay as he is under contract, but perhaps he will be loaned out. Cardle I would keep, he had the most assists in the league and did chip in with some important goals so I think a one year deal would be a fair shout. Murray like Lyons is under contract and was involved in the first team pretty heavily during most of the campaign I think he will likely stay. Gordon is out of contract and I am unsure of if McCall will offer him an extension or not, he can pop up with important goals but as we know can also drift through matches. Again maybe we will see a one year extension for him, but I am unsure.
