Looking at the fixture list, I’d pick September 22, after a woeful performance at Stair Park, for the parting of the ways..

2-2, midfield fight, Bowie for Rovers first, a couple of Minks goals, and then Gullan to hammer another for the tie. Should be a quite entertaining battle, as both teams look on decent form and with some talent.

I’d like to see it from behind the goal. Looked to take a deflection off a defender, and the goalie was likely unsighted. If they are sitting deep, it’s worth a few pops from a distance to see if a deflection or unsighted goalie can let one in.

Easy on that stuff, it’s gotta last all week or you’ll have a hellacious headache for next Saturday.

Certainly agree with those points. The Montrose back line was solid until the first goal, and then kinda lost the string. Maybe a little much hoof ball sometimes, but some nice work on the break and you made our defense and goalie work a bit. Traffic in the first half was our way at first, then your way to the half. That header was really worrisome, but the second half we looked a little better conditioned, which is expected of the full timers. Our midfield play seemed a bit above yours, and that resulted in a lot of pressure on your defense. Bowie was constantly bombing down the wings and getting crosses or corners. Injuries make this a very fickle league, and things will always change around. Hope the traveling contingent enjoyed the trip, at least the first 80 minutes.

If we’re using Gullan in the midfield, we could use another forward...but only until D and V return (hopefully). Is there a two player limit on modern apprentices? Even so, still more concerned about defensive depth until we can see Mendy play for real.

Surprised how well the defense gelled today, but there were a couple of slips, however no goals leaked. Bowie was a constant threat down the wings. Hendry, again, playing above this league and getting lots of bumping and fouls...do we lose him in January to an offer to good to decline?

It suggests that without changes we may not be, but it doesn’t rule out the ability to improve. The question is can we and how. Mendy, for all of use slagging him off, is still properly untested at this level, and the possibility of additional players, via loan, for center defense is not ruled out. It’s not time to jump off a cliff, yet.
