  1. Early season form perhaps gave a false sense. Team in free fall, plummeting to where we maybe expected. No manager, chairman rather be elsewhere. Everything points to a home win. My 8 year old reckons we always win a Forfar though. So I'm taking his advice, a freak 2-0 away win, keeping the wolf from the door before normal service resumes next week!
  2. I'm sure their wages would be about equal to our entire first team
  3. Probably his Rangers connection gives him a bigger profile. Not sure he should've quit Kelty though, as he's maybe finding out now, you're quickly forgotten, I've always thought you were more likely to get a move up if you were currently in a job. And please, not Barry Ferguson!
  4. I thought when we signed him he was a bit of a mercenary. Always felt we should've been blessed that we had him as long as we did, rather than rue his departure. His playing career was in it's twilight, when the guy who managed him at both Dumbarton & St Mirren offers him a coaching job, nearer to home into the bargain. He left us for Airdrie, not straight to Raith. The way he engineered it wasn't great, but any one on here would do likewise, I dont hold it against him, that said where we are at the moment currently warrants someone with managerial experience, so it's a "No" from me, good luck if he does rock up at the Rock one day.
  5. Would love it if we could attract Michael o' Neill (who did manage Brechin)or Kevin Thomson (but would likely be in for every full-time job), but they'll both think they are way above this level (thought either would've got the Dundee Utd job). Dont want, Agnew, too far from his' house! John Hughes has a habit of getting Fife Clubs relegated, I thought the guy in charge at Elgin seemed quite an interesting character during lockdown, but he's not really kicked them on. I saw Mixu Paatelainen at the game when we beat Cove 4-2, when DY was still in post, I thought then he was being sounded out for the job, when you think about what's available, might not be a bad choice. Then again, as every signing we make seems to be from St Johnstone's B team, maybe that's the only phone number we have in the office, who runs them? A least he'll have worked with half of the players already!
  6. Cetainly be the fan's favourite choice, it might work. Think Kev would need to hang his boots up though to leave Bonnyrigg outwith the transfer window.
  7. Didn't want to post straight after Tuesday's game, but I'm not sad to seethe back of Stevie Crawford. Yes he interited a difficult situation, where he had little chance of staying in the division. This season though, we're crying out for experience to help our young squad out. The timing is not ideal though & hopefully it won't derail any confidence this team has. Whoever comes in will still have the same squad to work with, there is a lot of potential there. Hopefully the new manager search is a lot easier than attracting players has been. I can't think of too many off hand that are available who would consider 4th tier.
  8. Is Thomas Orr not fit? Last time i saw him he scored 2 against us for BSC. Crighton, was someone I felt was a bit of coup for you guys when he left Airdrie, whould've taken him at Bayview, at the time we were crying out for his type & someone useful at set-pieces. Probably not the player he was now though & in all the different shirts I've seen Wedderburn line up in against us, I don't think I've ever seen him venture out of the centre circle! Never saw much ofDaniel Higgins in an East Fife shirt, was speaking to a Cove fan in the lounge before the last game of the season & he couldn't believe he couldnt get in our team (Higgins, not the Cove fan!), mind you he appeared to have been to every bar on the way down from Aberdeen & was carrying a life-sized cut out of Danny Devito, saw maybe not one of the most reliable. Been a few years since I've seen Stenny & looking forward to an evening game for the first time in a while, no idea what to expect, but it's games like this will determine what kind of season we'lll have.
  9. As much as the Stranraer draw felt as good as a victory, Saturday's throwing away of a 2-goal lead feels like a defeat. Ironically a win and a defeat would've yielded more points than theses 2 draws. Yesterday, being unable to see the game out, along with the home defeats to Bonnyrigg & Dumbarton could well be put down to lack of experience, which with the squad we have, might have to be expected. Although we, in points are closer to the bottom, than the top have to be happy with where we are though, not many of us expected us to sitting 3rd.
  10. Great result, but what has BBC Scotland got against the Jambos? Last month sat down to watch the Zurich game on TV, feed got cut. Last week, put on radio for Istanbul game to have commentary replaced due to Queen's death (maybe let them off with that one), Then tonight, feed cut a couple of times on Radio Scotland!
  11. You guys wanting shot of him already? Told you Last week he was finished.
  12. Please don't, or I might start listing Airdrie's over the last few years & you lot have given us plenty of ammunition!
  13. No chance, he's finished. Be loaned to EK in January, as Dumbarton try to recoup some of their outlay.
  14. Shame about that, good player at this level, someone we've fancied since Gary Naysmith was in charge & he was at QP. Heres hoping Ryan Blair won't open his Bayview account against us! You guys are going well, what a difference seeing both sets of fans positive, after the previous 12 months!
  15. Quite a brave/bold decision to go with such an attacking looking line up. Great to get an equaliser so late, makes that long journey home, not feel quite as long.
  16. As long as our unbeaten European record remains intact.
  17. Next round of the tournament formerly know as the Challenge cup sees the introducion of all the 'Big(er) guns' & international teams. A wee trip to either of the Belfast teams would be nice, please.
  18. Couldn't agree more, get this done. I'm guessing they've played together before whilst at St Johnstone & although new to us, not entirely strangers to one another.
  19. He is injured, must be 6 months since or happened, so seems he's needing an op that he's out this long. I believe we've been trying to get a loanee in, but struggling, as parent clubs want guarantees on playing time.
  20. Did we let Liam Campbell go at the end of the season? I wouldn't be surprised if we went with Fleming, Gallagher & our youngster stepping up from the youth team when required.
  21. Ordinarily I wouldnt include this cup, but 3 wins & 3 clean sheets in a row is fantastic. Wouldn't bank on any more signings. Without getting carried away, happy with things so far.
